Hi I've done a black bear with blue eyes before and it looked lovely you may need to put a circle of White felt behind them to make them stand out a bit more or they can disappear in to the fur

Hi everyone just to let you know how i got on at the boot sale. It has been a really hot day which may have sent a lot of people to the beach rather than the town but there was a steady trickle of people most of the time. I sold one puppy to a lady who fell in love with him even tho she didn't collect bears and about 25 people took business cards so generally a success i think!

Thanks for the advice i will definitely try that way, i was beginning to think i was going mad not being able to tell a pile direction!

Andrea

Andrea

It only costs £7.50 for a pitch so not too bad i think i will see how the weather is and give it a go. Will let you know how i get on!

Hi everyone  i wonder if you can help me. I love using sparse and matted mohairs for older scruffy looking bears and the pile direction is often quite difficult to determine and seems to vary across the piece. Is this likely due to the storage of the mohair before i get it i tend to buy from ebay a lot. I often find the pile seems to run diagonally across the piece? This then makes it really difficult to get the head gusset straight and i end up with a side swept look on the nose. i always though that the pile would run staright up and down or across the width. Hope someone can give me some advice

Hi Louise, gorgeous bear i love the colour! When you talk about loosely jointing for that aged effect do you mean that that cotter joints are not done up as tightly as normal or are they wobble jointed so they are really floppy?

Hi everyone there is a local art car boot sale happening locally this weekend and i am trying to decide wether it is worth giving it a go with my bears. It is just off the town centre on sunday so there should be some passing trade and it is a pound for people to get in. It will be all new artist works there and mine would probably be the only bears. They apparently run well in london but this is the first one here. Does anyone have any thoughts on if it would be worth a shot or has been to one somewhere else. Your comments would be greatly appreciated
