Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Thank you so much for the rivived interest in my display and I was so surprised to see it again.

    What was really neat was that I was asked to repeat it again for the month of Dec. 2009 and it was a wonderful place to put it all while I packed up my house for a move.  I added another shelf to make some changes.  This shelf was devoted to the history of Teddy Bears in literature and I incorporated many books from the library  including Winnie the Pooh, Paddington, examples of The Three Bears  and others.  I had a couple of bears to go with these books.  Wish I had taken a photo of this one too but circunstances at the time prevented me doing this. 

     I am now living in Breckenridge , CO and I am investigating the libraries in this area .  I hope to redo this display or parts of it in yet another library.      Janet

After many months a new 5 inch bears has emerged.... Adele.   She wears a hand knit kid mohair sweater with lots of bees and crochet flowers all over.

Janet Ann is a 14 inch bear named after myself.  She  incorporates all the things I love to do......... sew, crochet, smock , read, sit in a flower garden......

A second Tartlets Pastry Chef now on ebay.  He is 16 inches created of  tipped alpaca and has an antique kitchen towel apron and antique butter pat plate to serve  those tartlets. (see photo of Lemon Raspberry Tartlets on ebay auction.)

Rose Marie has been relisted on Ebay.

Little Rose Marie ( 5 inches ) will be on ebay soon.   She has a smocked dress and hand knit kid mohair sweater...

Another Strawbeary Jam mini bear........4 1/2 inches tall........  with his own Lenox jam pot

This little guy is 5 inches tall and has a designed incorporated costume of mohair.  He is enjoying a summer picnic with a jar of lemon curd.

Bluebeary Jam is a 4 1/2 inch little bear created from blueberry mohair.  He has his own Lenox jam pot.

Bluebeary Chef also specializes in gourmet muffins.

Presenting a CONNOISSEUR of blueberries with many recipes using them as the main ingrediant.   This new  8 1/2 CHEF BEAR will be on Ebay this week.

Chef Au Gratin has a flower garden also.  I have cross stitched flowers on his apron and added bee and lady bug buttons...

Caesar is a new 8 1/2 inch chef bear making his appearance on Ebay today.  He loves to garden and create fresh tasty salads right from his garden.    Enjoy!    Janet

Cupcake Violet is 5 inches created from while alpaca sitting on her own knitted cupcake.

Michelle and I talked about this a month or so ago and thought it would be great to get together at out various homes and studios.  There are and have not been any shows in Colorado for some time so aritsts here just don't see each other.  As you mentioned, Angela, it would be a great idea for other areas as well.  Janet

On ebay later today .........   chocolate baking Chef Bear for Easter and Spring.  This bear (when I think of her name) is a new size I am designing....... 8 1/2 inches tall.

Lucy is a five inch little girl bear ready for tea partys.  She wears a hand knit (by me) silk sweater and silk smocked dress.

Tea for Two is the song I selected for my TBAI gallery piece.  The theme this year is Name that Song.  I created two five inch bears gathered around a Franz whimsical tea pot.  TBAI is in August.

Seeing this about Clarion really jolted me into realizing this show is going to happen NEXT year!  I signed up for it a couple of years ago and then put it out of mind. I have gone all four previous shows (had a table) and looking forward to this one in 2010.  Janet
