Another reason it could be off centre apart from the 2 mentioned of crooked gusset seam and cross stuffing is uneven side heads. If you have placed your side heads on the fabric with the nap of the backing uneven your weft and warp could be pullin unevenly.

Many many artists are so worried about the nap of the fur that they forget about the nap of the backing fabric...the ONE place it will show up if you have your warp and weft uneven is the 'septum' seam.

Remember in weaving a fabric the weft and warp threads have different tensions and pull....if your side heads are set so that one has more weft and the other more warp, the result is simple to visualise.

Photos ASAP please as I am always on deadline.....if not the issue for the article. ven daylight saving doesn't seem to give me any more time and I just find more things to do.

Hi Everyone

I'm finally finding time to drop by again!

Between editing Australian Bear Creations and helping with the new business my husband I bought life has been chaotically hectic for the last 12 months.

Finally we have some great staff (after finding out one we trusted was stealing from us from day 1) and the shop is moving into a more settled existence. Mind you being a bookshop I do tend to bring home way too many and I;m constantly seeing books with ideas and concepts I want to try out. Our house now has well over 26 books cases and Garth keeps pointing out that we OWN the bookshop now and I don't need the books at home. I keep answering that books go out of print so I DO NEED TO OWN THE BOOK not JUST THE BOOKSHOP....geesh when will he get the idea

Anyway I'm on  the next issue of ABC and was hoping for photos of Christmas Bears and their friends from any one please .....email to me at sandra@bearhug.com.au

thanks and I hope to drop by more often now that my life is settling back into routine.

Hi Everyone

Yes I'm on magazine deadline again and looking to do a feature on leather bears.......this is bears made form leather or with substantial leather features rather than real fur bears.

Please email to sandra@bearhug.com.au

So many of you have sent me emails asking where I am so just a quick update on me.

1/ Yes I am still editor of Australian Bear Creations and despite buying the books hop hope to continue on as editor....though time is tough to allocate to both .

2/ Yes the shop is going great and after 10 months I'm finally feeling like I'm getting a grip on and have finally got a feat mix of staff who are really taking some of the stress off me and I can take more time back for myself.

3/ It has been 18 months since I fell down the concrete steps in out front yard and crushed my right hand.Buying the book shop 10 months ago did not help my rehap. Picking up and moving big coffee table books plus boxes of books jus didn't help. I think my physio bought a second business on my fees alone!!!

So I was quite excited to finish sewing my first bear on months the other week. I sew all my bears by hand and though my hand was aching like made I got through it!!  My nose wasn't the best I;ve ever done and I really needed to stop half way which wrecked both my concentration and tension......I may have to go to felted noses for a while I think or polymer.....something I can take a break from half way.Or somehow make a feature of badly sewn noses......LOL

Anyway in the next few months I'm planning on more time back into bears and my crafts.

Hi Everyone

Sorry I've been away for a while.

The new bookshop is keeping me super busy and editing the magazine even busier. I'm running 27hours days!! I've been away getting treatment on the right hand I smashed up a year ago and hoping that the new treatment will return some strength and felixibility and I can start sewing again soon.........I really do miss the stress outlet!!

Anyway I'm on the next issue and need photos and comments on desiging and sewing minis!!

Email me on   sandra@bearhug.com.au   to appear in Aust Bear Creations.

Yes I'm doing all my exercies and seeing a physio once a week as well.......especially since buying the shop. It's more soft tissue damage now than bone and it's more the point that the work I'm doing in the shop is what I sholdn't be doing. I've now employed a young guy to come in after school to help with a lot of the lifting and stuff to give myself a break. At 6ft 7 and 17 year old I figure he's better for those 16kg (35lb) boxes of than me.  LOL

bearhug07

Thanks everyone

Also thank you for all those that asked about my hand.....yes hard to believe that it's 10 months since the fall.  It was sort of healing OK but not fast and at one stage they thought the bone had died and I'd need a bone graft...found instead that the ligament and tendons had got themselves in a mess and attached themsleved where they shouldn't have. Just missed an operation by the skin of my teeth.

Picking up and moving the big coffee tables tyoe books in the shop hasn't helped and also boxes of books. I keep managing to semi dislocate the thumb joint and this has left it very weak. So hand sewing is just not a option at the moment and trying to stuff is not on at all. So all my designing and sewing is on hold for a while.

Very very frustrating.

HI Everyone

Just popping in quickly the new bookshop is keeping me running and trying to keep up with magazine deadlines as well...... I literally don't even have time to eat.......Lost heaps of weight....yeah!!

But I desperately need some rabbit photos and comments on desiging and making them....tips on ears noses and any other comments would be fantastic please.

I have no-time at all at the moment and all help will be gratefully accepted.......have Lara's ballet concert this weekend.....finished my show last weekend.....school concert coming up!!  Christmas....think I'll turn into Scrooge this year....bah humbug!!  LOL

Please email to sandra@bearhug.com.au

thanks

All I know is that he has had a stem cell transplant and will be in hopital  for another month at the moment and Chris is spending all her time there. I had missed the information that he was so ill and sent her an email on another matter. As her naswer seemed so stressed I did not send back another email as I felt it would seem a burden rather than support as she may feel compelled to answer and she seemed short of time. If that makes sense.

Just click on the email link under the avatar and I'll forward the forms.
