What a treat to see wild life like this! Great pictures!
I love Ted Menten book. It helps with design techniques. It's called: Ted Menten Teddy Bear Studio: A Step-by -step Guide To Creating Your Own One-of-a-kind Artist Teddy Bears. You can find it on Amazon.com:
Kerrilyn: I too wondered how that would work. Thanks for the tips!

Congratulations!!!
Cooper is simply darling Tami!
He is giving you presents Karen. Mine do this all the time. One of my cats likes to steal my jewelry (when I forget to put it away) and drops it on my pillow or on my side of the bed. Once I befriended a neighbor’s outdoor cat. He was really sweet. I paid more attention to him then his real family. Well one day I came home to a dead bird dropped outside my door and the little stinker sitting proudly by it. My dad's cat caught and killed a lizard. While dad was watching TV his little kitty dropped the dead lizard on his lap. All of these instances are where the cats are bringing presents to the ones they love.....
Awww. Be strong. It is hard to see our children grow up and leave the nest. Still it isn't easy.
Dear Sherroy: I would be upset if that happened to one of my creations too. I wonder though, can your brother bring back the shredded elephant. Maybe it can be repaired. I think, I'd send the new one via mail to your aunt. That way it will get to her safe and sound. So, sew a new one and let the past go. I am sure your brother did not think about how vulnerable and appetizing your little guy was to a dog. I bet he feels bad enough about the mishap. Ask yourself "is it worth hard feelings with my brother"? Meaning he made a mistake Sherroy. Let it go and ask yourself "is it worth being upset over something that has already been done"?
Dear Sheila: That must be very frightening to go through. I do hope you recover quickly. There will be other craft shows do don't despair. At least it was not a stroke which some never recover. As for not tasting chocolate, well that, I agree is just plain cruel!!! Life can be yucky sometimes....Rest up for now and heal.
I think he is fairly priced. I wonder if the economy is really impacting peoples bear business. I can't help but think a lot has to do with it and people not spending right now. Don't loose heart. I bet it will pick up soon.
Lisa wrote: I love mini's but I can't see to make the very tiny ones anymore
Lisa: I too have poor eyesight. I love to sew mini's and watch TV at the same time but could not do both. I went to my ophthalmologist and explained I need a pair of glasses that magnifies on the bottom but have the seeing distance on top for TV watching. He did it. They are bifocals. The bottom half are NOT reading glasses or computer glasses. They are like magifying glasses. He measured and tested distance of how I hold my sewing and figured it out. I can now see to thread a needle without any problems and sew the tiniest of stitches with such clarity. So you might want to look into that.
Clair wrote: I couldn't sew when I made my first bear.
Clair: I could not sew either. I learned to sew making a bear. My friend taught me. The more you make them, the better you get.
Catherine Wrote: Michelle, no I don't treat the fabric beforehand, I just draw directly onto the fabric. I do seal the pencilwork afterwards with a matte spray sealer.
Thank you so much Catherine.
Fantastic Sophie! Good luck on your first article.
