Santa's all ready come through for me this year. After 35 years of whining I want a pony for Christmas, he finally delivered her early for me
The top pic she's just born, only two weeks old. The bottom pic she's with mummy, Maizie in November. She's just been weaned, but she's still at her breeders in Scotland. She won't be able to come over til at least March, but she's mine, all mine! A very rare, Dales pony.
No contests for me this December I thought about it, but it was far too late to get an entry in.
Ah well, gives me motivation to start planning for NEXT year
Owwww...Julia, I just about snorted my morning cocoa through my nose! Your little emoticon made me do a double take
Awwwwwhhhh...Toby's adorable! You lucky gal, Jenn
thanks for the link on the artificial sinew. I've never used it, but it looks like great stuffs...especially like the bit about 70 lbs strength!!
....hmmmmm...mental note that Shelli still has Chauncey... My hubby ADORES your Chauncey
He fell in love with him when I showed him this year's nominees. So if Chauncey ever needs a new home... please let me know  I think Eldon would have him as a friend for life!
I'd really be inclined to run an ad in the paper local to the shop that sold him. I think you'd stand a good chance of getting him back, especially if you made it clear that you wanted to buy him back and how important he is to you.
As for trying to replace him with another one of his kind....I've tried this, and it didn't work. Actually the bear I got was in better shape than my Nana bear, but she just wasn't MY Nana, if you know what I mean....
I do hope you can get him back, though...
HTML ? Learn code??? I'm afraid it sends shivers down my spine, BUT I am learning...
...and Daphne MANY MANY thanks for that link to Robshelp I've squirrelled it away for when I can get a bit more time to learn. Thanks to you, and the link, I've discovered this morning that I have free hosting for pictures on a website I didn't even know I had!!! That's like winning a mini lotto for me
sorry, but I guess I'm easy to please! LOL
So much to learn, and thank you my friends, I'm learning so so much on here!!!!
I wish I'd known about this in time
I would have LOVED to send Christmas cards to people, but I've joined too late I think.
I haven't quite got my head around the whole picture thing yet Some of my pictures come through, but others don't. I don't know how to photo edit, so I tend to be a point and shoot type of person....and what you see is what you get.
Also....I avoid being in front of the camera like the plague... you'll usually find me clinging to it, snapping to pictures
Hmmmm....well, it does say the graphics were created back in 2002, so its been around alittle bit. I would ty to contact the Disneyland people and see if this were a "for real" thing before getting in touch with these people.
It would be a WONDERFUL breakthrough for you if this is real, though!!! I mean, Disney is pretty big. I'm sure some of the other girls will have a better idea if this is for real or not.
 My first black bear/doll maker friend!!
I'm so very glad you stuck with it and learned how to make the dolls and bears. I think it can be very hard sometimes for people to get ahead, and enrich their lives...especially when others get jealous and try to pull you down I'm glad you rose above them, and that you are making your delightful dolls and bears, spreading joy :rose:
My adopted mummy, Mamoo, is Panamanian (black) and you could not tell her there are things she cannot do because she is black!!! She has been my strength and heart in many times of darkness and sad times.
I tried pulling hard on the thread, but it snapped And that was me best, sturdiest button/crafting thread!!
Afterwards, I read that I should be pushing in, and holding the fabric (or fur in my case) where I want it, then stitching. That worked MUCH better...in fact, a little too well in one case...my bear's eyes just about disappeared when I placed them :D
Another thing I've been doing, since I completely handsew my bears (you don't even want me to go near a sewing machine!!! ), is I've been using beeswax, and waxing my thread before sewing. I read somewhere that it helps to strenthen the thread...and I've noticed it seems to slide through the fur that much easier.
Well I've gotten "Baby Girl" on here, but not "Bernadette" who I was originally shooting for. Oh well, at least you can see the type of nose I was talking about
How confusing!! But I am glad that it does not seem to be upsetting the normal flow of things. I wouldn't want to vote in January either....how coooooold!
oh no, Julia
I am so sorry to hear you've lost your cute little dog. They take up such a huge part of our hearts and our lives....Its impossible to not miss them, or feel sad. Cry all you need to, it will take time to adjust to her not being there.
Sending along massive  for you....
Several good tips all ready about just doing what's really needed and nothing else. Men... they can be a bit thick and selfish, can't they? Too much being raised by Mum, and coddled I think... again the girls have given you good advice..just ignore his needs til he's willing to take care of himself for a bit. Afterall, you've got a LOT on your plate....too much actually.
Here, have a hug, take a deep breath and let it all out. Tomorrow will be a better day :rose:
Edited to say "Hi Bonnie!!!" Nice to have another Missouri bearmaker on here
Oh he's LOVELY!!!! I just adore his pawpads, and that cute nose, and ooooh, those eyes...
Awwwwhhhh, his little white hat is the finishing touch....I'm sure he'll bring you much happiness, Marie. Julia, he's a wonderful bear!!
Well, I can't say I suffer from any disorders or anxiety attacks (knock on wood), but I do have lots of friends that suffer from them, and bipolar, and the Winter Blahs (can't remember the proper name for it).
I DO still sleep every night with my teddy, and sometimes drag him downstairs to watch movies with me. Hubby gets rather jealous of all the hugs my bear gets
Well he did make me laugh
But in a good way! Thanks for starting my morning with a smile
I think he's cute!
I thought the latest was BRILLIANT!!! Granted I haven't read the books, only the first so far, because I don't want to be biased going into the movies. The plot was well thought out, very flowing, and I thought they got a lot of information across.
Its a lot of fun watching the youngsters grow up with the series of movies. I hope they can keep going and finish the next two books as well, although they'll need to get a wiggle on it.
I gave it two thumbs up
and hubby and I'll definitely be going to see it at least once more.
PS I thought Richard Harris did a better job as well, but what can you do? Michael Gambon does a fairly nice job stepping in.
Ah! Maybe that's what the problem is...I'll have to go see if I saved it properly.
I think your little ted is soooo cool! Very cute!
I've just looked and the photo is saved at 1600 x 1200, JPEG image, 332 KB. ??? I'm not that good with computers, but the other two pics that I put on here are roughly the same size.
Am I doing something wrong? Should I be trying to resize it somehow??
Why won't my bear come up???
I can't seem to get my pic onto here from my computer??? I must be doing something wrong.....I'll try again later to see if I can get my picture on here....
Lovely nose ideas....and I'm curious to try the fimo clay noses myself. Judi I ADORE the leather noses you do for your bears!!!! If only I can come up with something so nice!
For my bears, I had to give up on the embroidered noses because I'm an early retired dog groomer. Too much punishment on my hands left me with a non working righthand! After months of chiropractic adjustment by my osteopath, I've got my hand functioning again, but it will not hold up to the embroidered noses.
Sooooo....I take a plastic safety nose and cover it using ultrasuede
Sometimes I'll make the nose poofier by adding some polyfill between the plastic nose and ultrasuede, but mostly I use just the plain ultrasuede.
Awwwwwhhh....what a VERY cute nose it is too!! You've done a wonderful job with it....can't wait to see the whole bear!!!!
Shopping? Done and dusted! I got my Christmas shopping finished in one fell swoop back in September. I just need to wrap the gifts, fill out the cards and get them sent to respective family.
Now comes my favorite bit.... kicking back and enjoying all the festive lights, and listening to the Christmas music. I'm with Burl Ives on this one "I just love this Christmassy time of year!!"
  Well done you!!!!
Yes, where's the pics of this winningest bear??
