Dear Cyndee: I did not know you have been ill. I hope that the worst is behind you and you are on the road to recovery. I know how hard it is to keep your spirits up when you feel so sick. So know we are all here for you and in your corner.
Fabulous jewlery. Love the big chunky necklaces!!
That is good news Cindy. Always do your Due Diligence. There may be reasons we do not think of as to why something is not working out. Case in point: My father ordered a necklace to be made (it was actually for me). The designer e-mailed my dad many times with design ideas got not response. I got this call from the designer saying "your father is always so good about communication but I have no idea why I have not heard back from him". Well what happened was my dad got very ill and was in ICU for many days and from start to finish, he was not able to go home for two months. Since I have ordered jewelry from this designer in the past he had my number. Thankfully he called me. I explained what happened. He was so relieved that dad was going to be o.k. He even sent him a card in the hospital. Ending to the story, since it was my necklace that dad was having made for me, I sent him a check and got my necklace!! Dad and I have since, enjoyed many good transactions with this designer.
Awww....that is so sweet. It would make a good childrens book Peter! Think abou it....
Awww, poor guy. Many prayers for him.
Sue Ann wrote: He was very entertaining, showed how to accomplish some of the clever ways he creates his delightful style
Now Sue Ann, you peaked my interest. Can you give us a hint on some of Teds ways of creating his style of bear?
Therese: I think we will have a good time in the on-line class. I agree, I don't think I will ever have a chance to take a live class with Ted. I don't know if you is even teaching classes in person anymore. Does anybody know?
Sherroy wrote: If i met my cat on the road when I died I would never let him leave him again.
Me too Sherroy. I want my pets with me forever. :)
Brenda: that was a great story. Thanks for posting.
Hello Teddy Bear Friends: I am so excited to find Ted Menten is going to give a class on Ebearz University. I signed up and can't wait to take this on-line class. I've been a great fan of Ted's bears and I heard over the years that he is a great teacher. So I wanted to share my enthusiasm....Here is what he is teaching:
Di wrote in regards to me using a letter opener and scissors for stuffing:Aren't you scared of poking them through the fabric?
Di: Not really. Sometimes I will have a miss step and it may poke through but the fabric does not tear so that the fabric comes back together quickly. I learned the scissor technique from Lisa Lloyd in one of her classes many years ago. When I went on to make bigger bears, the letter opener was the ideal thing to use. It really does help with firm packing.
awww....the pictures are too cute for words!
Would you believe it if I told you my letter opener is my favorite bear making tool? Well it has a sharp point and it is the best thing ever for packing the stuffing in the bear parts. It takes less energy to tap and pack it firmly. I found the tips of my small scissors do the same thing for my mini's.
That is a sweet story. It is amazing what is out there to take care of our pets...
Sheila: I don't sell bears but I know that small dishes of candy strategically placed draws my attention to the bears as I reach for a candy. Plus the dishes add a nice decroative element to the table. Just a thought.
Beautiful pictures. What a wonderful thing you did bringing home Bella. Now your family has grown by nine!! Are you going to find good homes for the wee ones? Will you keep any for yourself?
Jane: your friend has a beautiful dog as well. Love the picture....
Shelia wrote: So when the officer opened the trunk, he found a cat marinating in oil, garlic and hot peppers. The man said that he had planned to eat the cat because the cat was such a horrible cat.
Oh Sheila that is terrible. What a crazy nut that man is to want to eat his cat! And to marinate the poor little thing is atrocious! That is another one that needs professional help...
Becky wrote: People in rural areas might choose to let their cats enjoy the joys of exploring and hunting and running up trees, and they deal with the fleas and risks that come with an outdoor life. Both lifestyles can be good options
I see what you are saying Becky. For there are those in the "outdoor" corner that are just a passionate as those on the "indoor" side. It boils down to what people can live with.
But if I can make a plea to those who want their cats (or other animals) outdoors, please get them fixed so that the stray population doesn't grow. Also vaccinate and get regular check ups for them. It is so important for their health.
Karon wrote: I am sorry Nettie having already sacrified two cats to the road on which I live - I am not prepared to risk any more.
I agree with Karon. I keep my kitties indoors. I would be too anxiety-ridden wondering what harm they will encounter outside. I think if you get them as kittens and raise them indoors and getting them fixed they will be content to be indoor cats. They will not have the urge to go outside. My cats have never tried to sneak out. The key is getting them fixed at a young age for their urges will prompt the need to sneak out to procreate.
My father had a sweet cat and he was attacked and killed by the neighbor’s dog. There are raccoons, and other wild animals not to mention cars, sick people like that lady in the video, cat fights that result in injuries leading to costly vet bills. For me, I'd be worried all day long. No, my cats stay inside; they are happy and safe....
That is such a shock to see how this woman abused this innocent kitty. What a sick thing to do! I truly hope she gets charged with the fullest the law allows. Some mental health counseling should be a part of her sentence. Oh and she should never be allowed to own a pet. I hope that is in the sentence too. The judge needs to protect the innocent animals from the likes of her.
What about using the lock line used for limbs? They are plastic and bendable.
Pooe little fella. How could he breath? Well I am so happy they found him and removed that horrible jar from his head.
  very cute.
Thank you all for the tips!
