I was wondering.. they have some design markers here at my local craft store. I was told that they were like copic markers (but only a bit more inexpensive). They're form the brand Pro Markers - does anybody kno these and know if I can use them as alternative to the prismacolors?
Hugs, Ariane
I can see why they have found a new home so quickly! I wish I was able to give Snowdrop a home now as he is a very charming bear and the design looks really appealing to me, but I don't have a budget that high.
Just curious..how much would he cost? Do you plan to make more bears of this design in the future?
Hugs, Ariane
Thank you so much for the link as I need to shade one of my creatures (Zakumi) soon; haven't started with him yet as the materials only arrived yesterday, but nevertheless, it is good to know where I can get those Prismacolors.
 Ariane
Debora,
I really enjoyed the tour of your working space, it must be great for you to have so much space to be creative in.
I wish I was so fortunate and had an own room for my creative stuff, but I only have my sleeping room - well, I tend to expand my sewing to the living room, overflooding the couch with all my materials, but my parents don't like this....
Hugs, Ariane
Karen,
I've got a question, too, if you don't mind. Do you know a good online source for the prismacolors? I want to buy some but don't find them where I live...
Hugs and thanks, Ariane
Hey there,
they should reprint this book, shouldn't they? I wish, I could buy me one...
Hugs, Ariane
very cute, I'm really impressed how you are able to achieve this effect of a real handsewn bear by crocheting them
Kerrilyn,
I'm not too sure, but I think I get the point.... or most of it lol
I actually have very thin leather here and could try it out now that my order from glasseyesonline arrived (I ran out of eyes for my bears two weeks ago
), have to pick one of my unfinished creations that'll look good with eyelids though
Thanks, Ariane
Wow, what a great idea you have....
And I wish I had the money as I admire your work...
But I can't afford one now...
Hugs, Ariane
Hi Susan,
I have never felted before, although I have a felting kit somewhere in my stash.... I should give it a go!
Hugs, Ariane
Alison, thank you very much for posting this photos, I enjoyed them so much!
I wouldn't take him apart either, I think he could be displayed like that, maybe in some handmade clothes, showing how well loved he has been and is^^
Hugs, Ariane
Thick pearl cotton thread.... That would be another option, I guess  Thank you, I hadn't thought about this before.
They are not necessarily meant to produce a sleepy effect (it was a coincidence that I hadn't planned for my viking bear), I would be glad to see how my bears look with outlined eyes. I'll see if I can find some thick thread somewhere (we don't have a shop with stuff like that here)
Thank you again, Ariane
Amber, the shiping costs stay under 10$ for me as I will prepare the mohair pieces for the sewer, so this is a price I can afford^^
Hopefully I will find the time, depending on when the pieces arrive, I'll maybe be in the middle of a commission - or in the middle of my holidays lol but those are just for a week, that won't be a problem probably *crosses fingers*
Hugs, Ariane
Michelle, thank you for this tip. I was wondering if I should buy me some leather cord, but thought about putting it onto the eye first and then inserting it (as I had done previousely). I might give it a try with your method the next time I make a mini
Hugs, Ariane
wow, he went away very fast - but with his cuteness it had to be like that^^
Thank you very much for your nice words - although she looks much better in person, my photographing skills aren't good enough
 Ariane
Very cute design, I love his face!
Rachel,
I just love your creations, you have such an unique style!
Someday, I'll be able to afford one of your bears....
Hugs, Ariane
I'll surely have fun, the design is so cute!
I'll post pictures of the finished bear here, if you don't mind^^
Ariane
Rikki,
thank you for your advice, it is surely a good tip to start by cutting out the head only and see how it turns out, I had a case like this recently: I cut out all the pieces for a new bear with a kind of not-beary fabric, sewed the head - and it didn't look like a bear but like a lamb. Well, happily, I was able to make some changes to the other pieces to make them look more lamb-like, but if I had done this with real fur it would have been very bad.....
Nevertheless, I'm waiting for my leather needles to arrive so I can't start yet - and have lots of projects going already
Hugs, Ariane
very very sweet - the eyes are just fabulous!
