I had something similar with one of my miniature horses I had on ebay. I had an email from a lady asking me if I could end the auction early and could she buy it at the starting price! I said no, and told her to please bid if she was interested.
In the end, the horse got no bids and within 2 minutes of the auction ending I received an email from her again asking me for a paypal invoice! I ended up selling it to her, although I didn't like the way it all happened.
Ebay is a funny thing and can be very disappointing at times. You just never know what will do well and what won't....The current bear I have on ebay at the moment I think is one of the best bears I've ever made, but no interest yet
I think your yorkie is gorgeous Krista and I hope you get some more bids
Hey Wendy, I went to Kmart today and got the same fishing tackle box! They had heaps of them. I just bought one to start off with, I'm planning to put all my eyes, joints and charms in it
Oh great, thanks for the info Melissa! Going to the shops tomorrow so I'll definitely have a look in Kmart, and there is a Smiggle at my local shops too so I'll check it out, Thanks again!
Congratulations Samantha, your bears are just wonderful! Sorry to hear about your job though...
Congratulations Jane!! Well deserved, what wonderful news
What fantastic containers Wendy, I might have a look for those next time i go to Kmart
I keep all my pieces of fur and ultrasuede in little plastic draws that I have sitting on the desk. I have seperate draws for joints and tools, threads, embellishments etc...I keep larger pieces of fur in big plastic tubs underneath the desk. I'm starting to run out of space again so was going to buy some more draws this weekend actually!
I got my copy last week, congratulations Sandi! I recognised your work straight away - how exciting for you!!
Thanks everyone for your replies Sounds like you are all very organised. I hadn't even thought of slipping in a picture of the bear to help identify the pattern, great idea! Keeping the patterns organised in a display folder sounds good too. Looks like I've got a bit of organising to do
I was wondering how other mini artists organise their patterns? I have my patterns in little individual zip-lock bags, and I keep all of these in a big zip lock bag! It's a nightmare to find a particular pattern sometimes, I pour them all out onto the floor and have to sort through each one to find what I want. Is there a better way of doing it?
Fantastic work everyone!!! I'm sorry I didn't get one made in time for the deadline.
So sweet Catherine, I love how you did the horse too - well done
Very cute, you've done a great job
I think the small eyes look good.
Oh gorgeous! I patted a duckling on Friday at the Royal Melbourne show, I am so in love with them now
Video doesn't work for me, it says it is no longer available
HI Jane,
I haven't even heard of Facebook before, so I have just registered! I couldn't find your group at first as Artists is spelt incorrectly in the title - but I found it eventually and joined up Hope you get lots of members
Congratulations Marion! Loved the photos - looked like you had a wonderful day
Hi Connie, best of luck with your first mini I don't have any groundbreaking tips to share with you except to say make sure you make the openings large enough otherwise you'll get into all sorts of bother trying to turn the pieces!
I use a size 12 needle and use backstitch. I've always just used Gutterman thread but have just recently switched over to the Super-Ion nylon thread from sassy's - it's great
Thanks so much Marion for the thread link - lots of info there!
Oh yes, Marlys I remember that thread. That's a good photo tutorial.
Thanks for all your help- definitely got some ideas now
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a new bear design and he needs a long neck - not a thin neck though, almost the same thickness as the body (see my concept sketch! ) I'm not sure how to go about this pattern - anyone have some ideas or tips for me? I want a seemless look between the head and neck, so not sure whether I can even make the neck jointed or not......
Any help is appreciated
Thanks everyone for your continuing suggestions and tips on what to look for in a sewing machine! It really is appreciated, and hopefully soon I can start looking for my machine
Exquisite work Kathy! So sweet, I have a real thing for mice - what I wouldn't give to have one of these little fellows
I think your website is fantastic Jennie! You've done a great job, love the colours and the way you've set out everything - also like the touch of handwritten text
Great job, what a little sweetie:)
Looks like you've got quite a stash there Jane! lol :)
That's a pity you couldn't get into the wax museum, but looks like you had a great day anyway! Thanks for posting the pics, I really enjoyed them
