Ok I've got another question about real fur. This fur is vintage so the leather backing is super dry & fragile.  I was going to use inferfacing on it but can't get this stuff to stick (I think it's Craft Bond or something close that I'm using).  I looks like it's on there (after I iron it) but when I go to turn the pieces it comes off & the leather rips  bear_cry It stays on the seams & they are not pulling it's just on the cute edges of the fur. Any tips on what I might be able to do or is this old fur shot?  Thanks in advance everyone!

thanks so much!  I'll try some fabreeze & see how it works.  bear_thumb

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning real fur?  I box a box full  of vintage fur that was stored in an attic so it has a very "musty" smell.  I thought about maybe fabreeze?  but didn't know if that would  be ok for the fur.  Can it be washed?  any tips would be great! Thanks everyone  bear_grin

I often buy bits and pieces on Ebay, if they catch my eye bear_original I've got some really nice mohair, but remember you don't get the precedence of saying 'Schulte Mohiar' or whatever in your listings (unless they told you what it was!) Also, it;s really irritating when you fall in love with some and then run out XD Limited supply, argh!

Yea that was one of my fears finding something I love & love to work with then never been able to find it again.

thanks for that link.  I saw the sale page before but not that one.  I was thinking about ordering some of the show samples that are at such a good price from them.

enchantmentsart

wow thanks everyone & I'll get started on a new one with my new business name & try to find a picture of myself that I like bear_original

Ok so I'm not very good with graphic design but my husbands a graphic artist (it's so great) so any way I wanted to know how you do the cool avatars that change when you mouse over them.  Also what size are they because mine looks all small and dinky compared to everyones!

Hi everyone.  I wanted to know if anyone had ever gotten mohair off e-bay?  Is there a good seller out there that you would like to recommend?  I know I would be better off getting mohair from an online dealer like Intercal but my budget right now is very limited & I want to get some mohair so I could "play around" with it before dropping the big bucks.  I've also seen a lot of people cleaning out their craft rooms lately on e-bay & some really good deals on mohair.

enchantmentsart

thanks everyone!  I wanted a name that no one else had & there are way too may enchantments art out there LOL so now starts the job of changing everything over.

Well I'm never been happy with the business name "Enchantments Art"  it was kind of a rush name for my fantasy art business when I first started selling online about 2 years ago.  I've been thinking about changing the name because now a days I do mostly plush and bird art with a little fantasy thrown in.  The name I came up with (with help from my mom) is "Feather Heart Creations"  What do you think?  I know it's never a good idea for a business to change names especially when you're know for that name.  But I think I would do better with a different name (& I'm not that well know bear_happy

Anyone have any good books they would like to recommend?  I've gotten a few & would like more, expesially on mini bears and maybe clothing for bears (if there are any)  Are there any "must have" bear making books out there?  Any that got you started or that you just love?  I just won one on e-bay called Teddy Bear Magic (love the title)

That is a good tip!  I do the same thing, I get the head all done when I move on to the rest.  I place the eyes ears & everything before I worry about a body.  Sometimes all have the body pattern all cut out but I never put it together until the heads done.  I know how you feel, it can be very frustrating at times & I'm totaly new to bear making.  I've miss place the arms & legs on bears more times that I would like to count bear_original

bear_grin Thanks everyone!  Now the person who commissioned him might be selling him.  I guess she wanted him to go with her Ball-jointed dolls but he's too big bear_sad  I'll post a link if he goes up for sale.

WOW, very nice! I can't imagine how much wool that took. How many hours did that take you? Jeepers, I felt 8+ just for a 3.5" bear. That must've taken forever. Very pretty, your customer will be very happy.

Thanks I lost count of all the hours.  All and all he took almost 3 months to make

dog2.jpgLatest commission!  This stuffed dog is just under 12" tall and 16" across. He's fully jointed so he can sit, stand, or lay down.  He has a polymer clay nose, hand-painted glass eyes and is made of wool.  I also made the leash from split leather.

OMG!  He's soooo cute!  And he looks so real, I've worked with sloths so I can tell you you did a really great job.  I think this stuffed animal would fool a sloth  bear_grin

I forgot to post this but it's a Benefit Auction for a baby horse.  The little needle felted horse I made looks so much better than the pictures!

Does anyone know of a good place to get tags made.  LIke hang tags & tush tags, with my logo.  Also where is a good place to put the tags so they don't take away from the stuffed animal?

enchantmentsart

Thanks everyone I'm looking for a brush like a Finger Brush & I've found them online for $4.50 but hate to pay shipping on that one item.  I would also love to find some furs/mohair and patterns.  But the brush is the main thing I'm hunting for right now.  I l was going up to Dallas this weekend and was hoping there might be a store I could look around in.   bear_ermm

enchantmentsart

Does anyone know if there are any stores that sale teddy bear supplies in the Dallas, TX area?  I know I can get everything  online but I only need a few items and hate to pay shipping on like one thing!
Thanks
