Love the pictures. I do understand too because I have a cat that gets me up every day and he has to be taken care of first.
Alison, the kids in Fort Mohave where I live started back 2 weeks ago and the Bullhead City kids started back today. I remember when I went to school we always started the day after Labor Day.
He is really sweet.
Good luck with your leather bear. I am looking forward to seeing it. I use leather for paws and feet but have never tried to make a whole leather bear.
Good for you. Getting your name out there is the name of the game and you even got one sale.
Absolutely wonderful. Love your work
Love the story of the 40 something neighbor. Now they are raising their kids to be the same. We have two grandsons who have just graduated from college and they would not even think of working for minimum wage, they feel like "we have an education so we deserve a big salary". They don't seem to understand that the economy is bad and any job is better than no job.
My husband and I married young, that was the way it was in the 1950's, and had 3 kids in 6 years and struggled with keeping our heads above water. We never took unemployment and always found a job, no matter what it was just to be working. Everything we had we worked hard for and never replaced until it wore out beyond use and didn't always have new as old was just as funtional.
Today it seems like everyone has to have the biggest and the newest and then they don't take care of it and go "oh well I will replace it". Core values seem to be missing in so many of the young.
This is a great little chair. I looked at the website. I can't believe that they want that much for doll chairs. I was going to see if I could find a chair for one of the dolls are I am working on right now.....I don't think I can afford one! I may have to see if one of the doll chairs I have now will work. I only paid a couple of dollars at an yard sale last year for a rocker and a small chair.
I remember the foxes from growing up in Illinois too. Another beautiful and so realistic piece from you. Amazing!!!!
I love your work! This mouse and tea pot are just adorable.
Wonderful!!!! That fur had to be a nightmare to work with but it sure does make a beautiful dog.
How thrilling, sounds wonderful and the best of luck to you to get it up and running.
I use wooden dowels for turning all my bears from small to large. You can buy a package of different sizes in the craft store. Sand them smooth and round off one end and they will work for turning and stuffing.
What a neat idea and a handsome fellow.
What a cutie. The new mommy will surely enjoy her.
Wonerful puppy. Love that expression on her face.
Just adorable!!
You have that in color I am old as dirt so I remember the black and white tv with a little round 7 inch screen in a very large cabinet and there were only one or two stations with maybe two or three hours of tv. Anyone remember the color screen that was put on front the the black and white screen so that it was suppose to look like it was color?
I don't know how this all started but here is my opinion.
One is a single; two is a couple; three is a set; four+ is a group.
Collection sounds kind of impersonal and because it is bears and they create such a passion in people that it started to be called a hug.
Does that make sense.
Your bears are adorable. Love them both.
Alison, I had a Fiji for years and loved it but it ate through batteries so decided to check out others cameras online to find the best for what I wanted. It has been a couple of years that I got my camera which is a Vivitar rechargable and I love it. They are no longer being made which is a shame because it is very user friendly. The rechargable battery holds for a long time and I take lots of pictures. If and when I can afford it, I will buy a Canon SLR. I had a Canon SLR before they switched over to digital and it was great.
Sweet little bear. Great job for your first pattern. I have been designing for years and yesterday was one of those days when what I designed didn't turn out well. To the bin and try again.
Update 7/28
My friend got his bear yesterday and his wife said it put a smile on his face which she hadn't seen in a while. He is up and around a little bit. They will not know if he needs open heart surgery for a couple of weeks after they do a stress test. Yesterday he was able to help his wife paint a little. They are crafters who make wooden snowmen products.
This OOAK new design was done for a special guy who is has been quite ill with heart problem. Had 4 shunts put in last week and may have to have open heart surgery. He doesn't know he will be getting this bear. His wife and him are collectors and already have some of my other bears.
Please excuse the background on the picture. I just sat him down to make sure I had a pictur before I put him in the mail
I am on some forums and Facebook but decided against Twitter. I just don't have the time for all of it. I have been on FB for about a year and used it only to stay in touch with my grandsons and nieces but then last month I got sucked into a game by one of my friends. Then not knowing what I was doing, I allowed some other stuff and now don't know how to get rid of it. You can spend all day with some of this and I don't know how people get anything else done if you reply to it all. I just ignore it now and only try to send to a few people. Sorry to any of you that get things from me that you don't want, just ignore it and hopefully my learning curve will get better in what I am doing on the site.
Daphne, the pictures were amazing and wish I could attend the Chicago show. Don't travel anymore because of health problems so will look forward to seeing the pictures of that show. Thanks for sharing.
