Thanks Jane ... you really know how to make a girl feel good don't you?  Now I'm blushing!!!  bear_laugh

Thank you Pauline, I'm glad you enjoyed a visit.

Do any of you have bears that hubby's claimed?

sewing-machines.jpgcutting-table.jpgprototype-bears.jpgcomputer.jpgstorage.jpgmohair-hanging.jpgWell I finally had a few moments to catch up on what's been going on and I must say you are all very organised! I have really enjoyed looking at all your photos.

Here are some pictures of my studio, starting with mohair hanging space, then the storage for disc etc. etc. and my ultrasuede, then my computer desk with printer and scanner, then my prototypes and bears for adoption, cutting table (also for classes), bookcase full of reference books and then my sewing & embroidery machines which hooks up to the other computer and my overlocker...these are not used to sew bears by the way...I sew them all by hand.

Thank you all for sharing your wonderful pics.

Just added a clown bear to the challenge photos and the full details are on my Juniper Bearies website. This is the feminine side of the set of "COCO & CHANEL", the male one still in the pipeline!
http://www.juniperbearies.com/chanel.htm

EDIT: It seems my post is a bit misleading Chanel is the female clown and Coco is the male clown yet to be finished...SORRY GIRLS!!

bearlysane

bearlysane

Thanks Bron and Ali ... Sonja's mom (Vera) dropped in tonight to see how I was going and just loved her, so I guess Sonja will be happy with her bear too.

bearlysane

Your pups are coming along nicely Bron...Well Done!

bearlysane

... I can get back to making my own bears now! I have just posted my latest project in show and tell for you all to see.
I just hope Sonja likes her...keep your fingers crossed for me!

Sonyabackclose.jpgSonyaside.jpgSonyagarter.jpgSonyafront.jpgMy dearest friend's daughter is getting married in a couple of weeks. Sonja's a girl who has everything...in more ways than one! Apart from being gorgeous and talented, she has a home already complete with all the normal "wedding present type items", so I was at a loss as to what to give her until her mom suggested I make her a bear.

Well after a lot of studying the sneaky photos her mom took of her dress...this is what I designed for Sonja.

The gown is made of ivory silk and has an overlay of tulle on the skirt, rouched tulle on the bodice with beading at the front. The back of the bodice is laced with satin ribbon and the edge of the veil is edged in satin ribbon. She also wears a tiara in her hair and a blue garter on her leg.

EDIT: The bear and the gown is totally sewn by hand.

I would like to say how much I enjoyed your post Sue Ann...it took me back to my own early years and the bears that I admired so much when I was starting out. You were an inspiration to me and I still have copies of TBF where your bears have appeared. Thank you Sue Ann.

Just don't cut off your ear; there is such thing as taking a joke too far, and I like all your ears just where they are.

Warm wishes from a fellow member of the sisterhood of the stay-at-home pants...

Mindy what a vision you paint!  bear_grin I often wonder how many other careers offer the opportunity to work in your PJ's!!!!

I wouldn't swap my "job" for anything...no matter how much you offered me. As far as I'm concerned "success" is a state of mind.

I see my sister stressed out everyday in her job as a district nurse..and my brother equally under pressure in his role as  manager of the mental health team..and I thank my lucky stars every day that I can sleep at night....
If the only thing that ever bothers me is people not understanding my art I think that's pretty good going..and while I'd like people not to stand there with that kind of blank look on their faces when I tell them about my bears, I think there are enough of us to make up for that lack of understanding in the wider world.....

I don't worry too much what people think these days..I am happy ...that's all that matters to me

Jenny I couldn't have said it better.

I'm at "the age" where I don't care what other people think of what I do for a living. I am happy, content and I absolutely love what I do.
There are not many who can get up every morning looking forward to "a great day at work".

As for the blank stares...that just shows what a small world they live in!
You are talented artists (the fact they don't understand, is their problem) be proud of what you do
and when you tell people what you do

SAY IT WITH PRIDE!!

So very well deserved too!!!

bearlysane

I envy you Catherine ... Monet is one of my favourite artists.
Thank you for sharing your photos.

bearlysane

I must be very lucky! Glenn loves bears as much as I do, so I never have a problem.
But he does have a chuckle when I spend all I earn at a show on everyone else's bears!  bear_grin

bear_thumb Lovely verses Chris ... I think there are times when we all need an inspirational message.
