for my hubby's 50th surprise birthday celebration. I'm whisking him away to NYC for a weekend for dinner and a show. Our kids are going, and his sister and her husband, and my hubby's college roommate and his wife. Eight in all.
Dinner and hotel were easy, but oh my ... choosing a show that you think 8 people will enjoy is a little stressful. For every show I looked at there are both good and bad reviews, by viewers and critics alike. So I just flipped a coin in the end.

Jersey people ... I've never done this before (taken the subway from Jersey City to Manhattan) ... but I understand it's very easy and inexpensive. Hotels in Manhattan were at LEAST twice the price of the rooms I got, and since I was paying for four, I went for this option. Any experience with this? We also have one member who will have recently had foot surgery and will have a wheel chair. I'm not too nervous about it ... I hear that more subway stations all the time are adding elevators and wheelchair accessability.
So glad that planning is done! Now all I have to do is pack and go!
Can't wait.

If there's some good news, it's that in your area there are probably LOTS of excellent doctors ... or not far away anyway.
Take care. I'm wish all the best for you.
Well said. I'm sending on to family and friends. Thank you Tammy.
Great view! I have a lovely view of the wall when I'm on the pc.
Thanks for sharing Wendy.
It's already "tomorrow". How did it go? Pension = good, that's for sure.
Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old
fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: "Free
to good home. You want it, you take it".
For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking
twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting
of this deal. It looked to good to be true, so he changed the sign to
read: "Fridge for sale $50."
The next day someone stole it.

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which
direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking
him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the north?"
When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, and has for
sometime, she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that
stuff."

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I
got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was
open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day,7 days
a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?"

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were
discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The
cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount....

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to
the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never
showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a
trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me,
"has your plane arrived yet?"

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small
pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like
it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before
responding. "Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry
enough to eat 6 pieces.

Have a good day!
THANK YOU ALL so much for the warm greetings. I have truly missed you.
Just popping in to say hello and that I've missed you all. Haven't been gone for any reason other than my projects at home (not bears) have been keeping me busy. I'm making progress on the studio, but have had to take a break from working on it because of some pain in my elbow/arm/wrist and shoulder. Initially lab reports indicated it could be RA, but it's not. Just a bad case of tennis elbow. Still lots of pain.
Anyone taken Celebrex? I have a prescription for it but am putting off having it filled. It's an anti-inflammatory medicine and can cause severe nausea. Doctor recommended I take the first dose at home. Great ... just great.
The only projects on my plate these days include planning hubby's 50th birthday celebration and helping my little girl over a broken heart. Everything bear related on hold. I have a domain name, but no website. And I never did order my copy of Photoshop Elements or Dreamweaver or anything else that spells progress.
My bear stuff is all packed away ... waiting for the stars to line up right and things fall into place so I can resume teddybearing. Patience is increasing; I guess that's a good thing.
Take care!
Hugs,
Deb
Visited Dallas and didn't care for it at all. Someone wrote the roads are confusing and they are indeed. I was in the city though, not in the outskirts at all.
San Antonio, however, is to die for!
Good luck!
Don't feel bad at all Heather. If I want/need something ... I'll bid to my max and see what happens. I get outbid plenty of times. It really doesn't hurt that much!
Serioulsy, I think the artist(s) deserves the highest price anyone is willing to bid, fellow TTer or not. If I really wanted Shantell's bear, and you had bid on it, I'd still bid my max and I'd expect you to do the same. She wins if we do that. She loses, and her item is undervalued if we don't.
Hi guys ~
I've had a few messages asking where the heck I'd been, so thought I'd do a quick post.
Well let's see ... first there was a business trip to San Antonio (March 1st). Came home and have been working on getting the studio painted and ready to move in. Simultaneously, we ripped out carpeting and put in hardwood flooring, and there is much painting to do in those rooms.
My sister had gastric bypass surgery and is staying with me for a bit in early recovery as her doggie is pregnant and is very clingy and jumps on her. So ... I don't even know where my current bear-in-process IS ... let alone getting any work done on it.
My daughter is graduating from college in May and I've been busy hooking her up with some insurance industry folks and looking over cover letters and in general just being available when she wants feedback on "stuff" for the next phase of her life (EMPLOYMENT). We're also planning a visit ... just the two of us to NYC.
Additionally, work is a zoo. It's a busy season. I'm around though and can't wait for things to be back to normal ... whatever that is!
Hugs,
Deb
Hi ThereLast year there was a post about daschunds and I promised I would send a pic when I go my new little man. Well here he is . His name is TOBY. and hes about 5 mths now. Hes a real lovely little boy.
Toby is adorable. I'm without a camera right now. Let my daughter take it on vacation with her to Myrtle Beach. Will post a pic of my Buddy when I get it back. He's the doxie we took care of as a pup and fell in love with. Buddy is 5 months and a week! He's a softwire ... cross between a longhair and a wirehair.
I just ate a WHOLE BAG of Pepperidge Farm cookies....
If you're gonna eat packaged cookies, it really should be Pepperide Farm! YUM!
Very nice! Good job Penny!
Any word on Magic?
This outfit that manufactures this product should be sued!! What are Vets doing about this??
There are hundreds of products just like Greenies ... most are just not green. They are being sued by a couple who claim Greenies caused an obstruction that killed their dog. And that may be, but ANYTHING can cause an obstruction. Vets find marbles, fabric ... all kinds of things. This couple is suing for $5MM. They won't get it though, as the incidents with Greenies is extremely low and because ... at the end of the day ... as much as we love our pets, they are considered property, and you can't get $5MM for property, only human life.
Make sure you give size appropriate treats. I had a friend who lost a pet due to an obstruction of something similar to Greenies. But it was the fault of my friend, who gave her large dog a small item, which he proceeded to swallow whole. And you guessed it ... it didn't digest properly and caused an obstruction.

Yep, Michael's sells compressors. At the Michael's near me, they're locked in the cabinet with the airbrushes. Michael's also sells Liquitex and Golden acrylic colors, excellent for airbrushing.
Thanks Kelly. Actually I found a used copy of the academic version, that can't be regisitered. It's not what they wanted and are selling it! I won't be able to get upgrades anyway but at a steal, I don't really care.
Nope; it's web development.
It didn't sound like any difference, but thought I'd check. You ladies (and gents) know everything! The college bookstore has it in stock, so will have one of the kids pick up a copy. Probably be outdated by the time I get around to installing and using it though!
Anyone know what, if any, differences there are between the "academic" and "commercial" version of Dreamweaver 8, other than about $200?
If none, I may send my son up to his college bookstore!
How sweet is that?? Makes me really love the fact that I make bears...........
Sniffle, sniffle ... please pass the tissues ....
Ooohhh Matilda ... I LOVE that new avatar! When I visit Marion, maybe that little platty will ... poof ... disappear!
Hooray!
Drive carefully Daphne! So sorry to hear about your dad. Please keep us posted!.
