Ahh I love me some Dangerbears.  I have one of her bears and I adore her.  I gotta say my favorite artist, probably because she is one of my dearest friends, is Lenora Ovenshire.  Not only is she a terrific lady, but she makes bears that were designed to be hugged and loved.  I need to post a pic of the bear she made me for my birthday last year.  Now that is what I would call a ballybear.

What if you have no idea who in the heck made him?  Will people be less likely to buy him because of that?  What would the value of this type of bear be?  I'd like to keep him, but I have a doll show coming up and I really want to get a new/old doll or bear.

This is kind of an unusual question.  Yesterday I rescued a crocheted teddy bear from Goodwill.  I assume he's handmade as there is no tag or label on him at all.  I know we can't do this here, but I'm planning to sell him.  Do you know where would be the appropriate place to do this, or how to list him on eBay?  Thanks.

I can't see that, but yes it's the Super Flopsies line.  I have Yukon the husky, although mine's name is Gaelach.  I have wanted Mush for a long time, but now I'm desperate for Sequoia.

Is anyone familiar with this bear.  He was made by A&A who is now Aurora.  They have a 12" version on eBay who I'm thinking about getting, but I'd really like the big one who seems to be very rare.  I'm not sure if they kept making him after they became Aurora.  Also I'm looking for any bears called Sequoia.  I'm going on a really weird kick that is hard to explain, but I'm collecting all bears I can find called Sequoia.  I already have the Ty Beanie Baby.

Hi guys.  I'm finally back after a loooooong time.  I had a bit of trouble with the login, but everything is working out now.  I know I used to have trouble uploading pics here, but hopefully I can show you these bears.  I haven't made a bear in a while, but here is the first jointed bear I ever did back in 2011.  I was assisted by my dear friend Lenora Ovenshire.  She made the pattern and showed me how to do everything.  His name is Pablo.  I'd be interested to hear how you guys like him and would welcome any suggestions.

Or not.  I can't find the place to upload attachments.  Blast.

wubbiebear

Aww, poor bear.  I would cry if anything like that happened to any of my babies.

wubbiebear

I've never had the pleasure of seeing one of your bears, but as both a bear and doll person I'm pretty sure they'll love him *squuz*.

wubbiebear

Sometimes I have multiple bears going at once.  This is because I make my patterns in playdoh and then someone with eyeballs transfers them onto cardboard and then fur.  I also have to have assistance getting the joints in because I can't feel the holes because they're so small.  I usually go ahead and start another bear while one bear is still waiting to be put together.  I love sewing, ,but the joints are a pain in the *** because of having to get assistance.

wubbiebear

Shame on me for not usually looking at the marketplace.  That will teach me, I guess, lol.

wubbiebear

Sorry I couldn't resist.  Becky said someone should upload teddy bear songs, so I had to do it.  I think I overshadowed the awesomeness that is that Teddy Ruxpin song, though.

wubbiebear

are these bears artist bears or designed by the artist and manufactured?

wubbiebear

I can't see pics because I'm blind, but I do know that several companies made bears and other plushies with rubber and vinyl faces in the 50s and 60s.

wubbiebear

TT has slide shows???  I didn't know that.  I think I must live under a rock, lol.

wubbiebear

What do you have?  It would have been so cool to be that involved in the teddy bear industry and get to go to shows and awards ceremonies.

wubbiebear

I haven't clicked the page yet, but can you donate with Paypal?  I prefer that rather than giving my info online.

wubbiebear

Are you saying you sew the head gussett to the sides before you sew the side pieces together?  I'm going to try that.

wubbiebear

I probably wouldn't want a hard-stuffed bear unless he was hard because he has a tape player in him, lol.

wubbiebear

He's crunchy like he's stuffed with straw, but he's not stuffed very firmly.  Does that make any sense?  Oh, and his name is Chad.  I don't know where that came from.

wubbiebear

I got my bear today.  He's definitely not mohair.  His head is fake fur and his body is cloth, like his clothes are attached.  He's a sweet bear.  I thought I was getting an antique bear like everybody raves about.  He's not, but that's okay.  He's a teddy bear and I love him.

wubbiebear

Arrgh, my post got eaten I think.

I'm glad I got a 50s unjointed bear.  I always feel bad for them because some people say they're low quality.  I'm going to have to give him lots of love.

Oh, and you can thank Teddy Ruxpin for making me conquer my fear of Ebay.  Since I bought him I bought a Furby that I'm waiting for and this retrobear.  Thanks, Teddy *goes off to search for Grubby*.

wubbiebear

I bit the bullet and finally ordered off ebay.  I got this antique teddy bear.  Does anybody recognize this dude?  Apparently he's pretty old, as he's stuffed with straw.

Us Bears, what tape do you have?  Probably The Airship, as that is the one that came with him.

I now have two Teddy Ruxpins in my hug.  Lenora sent me one for my birthday *squuz*.  I love Teddy.
