Thank you Alena! I love the primitive vintage style so have been trying to make some lately. I have a hard time making them look old though in fears I will ruin them.   So I keep ending up with a somewhat primitive look.  bear_original

IMG_0080_1-copy.jpgI have just listed Frenchie on Bear Pile. I have been holding on to him for awhile as I was hoping he would make into the June issue of Teddy Bear & Friends magazine. I am pleased to say he did!
If you would like to see more of him you can visit him here:

Thanks!

I will have to add a photo here later. I thought I had  resized them down enough to put on here but they are not showing up. I am out of time right now so can't do it just now. ARGGGH!

I gotta do the head first. I also hate sewing the footpads and usually leave them for last. ln making the head I now do the nose first then the eyes then ears. I used to do the eyes first but once I did the nose they always seemed crooked so had to be redone. So now I do the nose first. Seems to save time that way.

I am typically a bare bear fan. Though I have seen and loved many fabulously dressed bears. It does depend on the bear itself as to what fits his or her personality. Or should I say bearsonality? I have dressed a few of the bears i make but I don't enjoy sewing clothing so don't do it much. I actually hated to sew before I started making bears. I love making bears, dogs and other critters but I still hate sewing clothing. I think it is because the bears have faces and therefore have bearsonality. Clothes don't look back at you so to me are boring and no fun to make.

But I must say that my most recent offering in Poncho the Chihuahua just cried out to wear clothing. He just didn't look right naked. I think his little Poncho and sombrero really suited him to a T.

Look forward to seeing a picture of your pup. That wait before getting your new pup can seem like forever. I am sure it will be well worth the wait though!
But once you have him I bet the time flies.
My pup Toasty is now 10 months old already.

I have to toot my own horn as I am so excited that my bear is on the cover of the newest Soft Dolls & Animals magazine.  bear_original
After sending in a photo of one of my bears the editor had asked if I would be interested in providing a pattern for the magazine. I was very excited and honored so of course I did. Little Black Bear is the result.  They also put in three photos of some of my other work along with the pattern feature. Here is a link to their website wich shows the cover:

This is not a Teddy Bear magazine as it features mainly dolls. But I really enjoy it. I don't make many dolls but I love seeing what other people create.
Thanks for letting me share and toot my horn!

Happy to hear things are going so wonderfully well for you!
Congrats on becoming the organizer for the show!!! I wish I could be there but I will have to be there in spirit only as it is sooooo far away from me.
Have lots of fun organizing the show. And hopefully we will get to see some pictures from it after it has occured.
