I am sending positive thoughts your way!

Jodi
Marion you always amaze me I tried my hand to learn to crochet and I was trying to make a scarf and it ended up being a purse (don't ask  I know the 2 look nothing alike) that tells you how bad I was at it. I am still amazed your bear was crocheted, it just blows me away.
Karen I think any cat you do, could honestly win an award.
Samantha those bears are soooooo cute and just perfect.
And Aleta I don't even have to see your bear to know I love it, because I have not seen one yet I don't drool over.
Bravo to you all

Glad to hear you're feeling better! Any chance you're making cosmopolitans and inviting friends this time?

   Yes we are!!!!!!
I won't go into the whole long reason I was upset, long story short , the person who won the "Movie Bear" ended up having fake contact info, they must have used someone elses personal info without that person knowledge to set up an ebay account, I turned everything over to ebay to investigate, I have been the target of some very mean women (they have tried 2 times to bid on my auctions so to do damage to my business) and I am believeing it may be connected.
The one bright spot in all of this, it made me realize I lashed out at someone that was not involved in the bidding scam and we have stopped hating each other and are able to talk to each other in a kind way. Which is just so much better.
Ebay has put a restriction on this persons account until they are able to finish the investigation, I never thought I would be happy if I found out this was only just a non paying bidder. My question is, why wouldn't they remove this person from ebay because he clearly took someone else's personal ID? hmmmmm I can not figure ebay out on why they do things
Susan your offer is beyond generous, I have decided I am going to offer the 2nd higest bidder the bear at the amount at which this fake bidder got involved, which is 300, I did not think it was fair to make her pay the higher amount because someone was trying to hurt me, so my husband and I will kick in money to boot it up to at least 500 so the kids will be able to finish this movie.
I just realized after I got so many caring PM's and public comments that there are far more wonderful people in the teddy bear world then mean ones. And this problem paled to some of the bigger events that are happening here on TT.

Have a GREAT 4th!
What an absolute doll!!!!! I for years thought I was allergic to dogs, I too would itch like crazy when I was around them, but I had a chihuahua when I was growing up and she didn't bother me so I got another chihuahua and it was in the middle of winter so I pee pad trained her and I had no reaction after I bathed her when I brought her home from the breeder, then when it got warm my son took her outside and when she came in I started to have an allergic reaction. I bathed her and nothing happened, no itching. then my son took her out again a few days later and the same thing happened, so I can no longer let her go out, maybe it is the grass you are allergic to. I hope you find a solution, it would be so sad to give up such a sweetheart.

I wanted to create a new thread because as most of you know I had a very bad experience in the last couple days and have avoided getting on here because I felt really sad, but then I posted my thread and the kindness you all have shown me made me realize that this bump in the road, is exactly that. Your kind words both public and private made me cry, but in a very good way!
I do not want my bad experience, which all of us have had to go thru overshadow the really wonderful events that are happening here on TT, A beautiful new baby boy has been born, what a miracle that is, just thinking about that really does make my heart soar.
Several of our TT's have won Toby's I know the official complete list is not out yet, so I don't want to leave anyone out, I would just like to say, I am so happy for you. And those that entered and those that got nominated you should be so proud of yourselves. What a brave thing, to put yourself out there to be judged, it is a very brave indeed and you should be so proud of your effort, in just that, you are winners. Also I know the awards help keep our bear magazines running, which makes me very happy , because I don't know about you all, but I get giddy when I see I got a new TB&F in the mail.
I know some of you are going thru troubled marriages, illnesses and loss of loved ones, which makes me realize my little blip pales in these sorrows.
So I tried to delete my pity party post but for some reason it won't let me, so lets let this thread be a celebration thread and be thankful for the success that we do have in our lives because as we all know the sorrows will come and lets all hope we will always be lucky to have each other here for support and encouragement.
Big Hugs
Jodi
In fact everyone nominated should be proud, all the bears rocked!!!!!!!

I LOVE PARROTS!!!!! They are so cool!!!!!!That red belly is amazing
My sons love to watch the WWE
and were so sad to hear about this, then when it came out he did all of this to himself and his family, they seemed to be really at a loss, just so sad all away around.
It's so funny, when I list and sell a bear I am thankful for anything above my cost to make and list, I have seen some really GREAT times on ebay, in fact in the old days , and man am I getting old, I could get a bear up and it would hit a really good amount pretty fast  , then my big bidders stopped bidding, I was devastated
, it seemed like I couldn't give a bear away. But then things started going well again  not meaning to sound like a broken record, but alas it slowed down again
but I learned some really important lessons, In the bear business, there are ebbs and flows, there are highs and lows, that has been a hard lesson to learn, but over the years I see almost every artist experience it, even the top artists. Right now my bears have leveled off, meaning: some do really well and some don't do that great, I believe this is the norm in the bear world. But I am so glad that fate picked this bear to do really well, because it sure felt good watching the excitement it caused in these kids. It is times like these that make me happy to do what I do.
Jodi YES YES YES, between bear no3 and 4 I lost my needle and had to use another, I was so mad , hubby did not understand "a needle is a needle" he says, "No" I said to which he just smiled an indulgent smile and said "your mothers of on one again" (hormones!!) Luckily I found it attatched to a piece of material the next day but it felt very uncomfortable sewing with another one, you have my sympathies, god knows what I will do when it breaks as it was part of a multi-pack and I have not got a clue what size it is
I can't remember where I got mine too, I believe it was also a multi pack and I used some little stubby short one tonight that just didn't feel right. See, we can come here and understand each others pain
I think Matilda has the right idea, cake is definitely needed tonight
but oh my it's 3am and way to late for cake, hmmmmmm maybe a cookie won't hurt
To the moderators here on TT you are doing a great job, keeping us in line, sometimes we all need a little slap on the wrist to remind us to play nice, I hope that everyone that has left mad will one day give this another try, maybe they will find something of value here, because like you all have said, there is so much great info here and some really wonderful people. And really, where else are you going to find, that when you break a beloved sewing needle, they mention yummy cake. Hmmmmmm Cake!
Hugs
and goodnight
Jodi the needleless
I love the fact that I can come here and post, that tonight, I broke my favorite sewing needle, it was perfect in length and the eye of the needle was easy to thread without being too big, It even had a kind of bow to it, from using it so much. I had it forever , thought I lost it several times during the time I had it , but it always turned up (man don't you hate when you misplace them , I always worry someone will step on it
)
I guess it just wore out because I really wasn't forcing it, the eye just snapped. But there are very few places I can post this and someone understand why this would be upsetting. I told my husband and he goes "well buy a new one" , he just doesn't understand
I agree it is impossible to make everyone happy, but I think this chat site does a wonderful job watching that we play fair, and yes every family, (I do believe we on here are a family of sorts) have arguments and everyone is not going to like everyone else. But you don't condemn the whole site for one problem, I also think they do a better job controlling fires now, they stop fights before they blow up into a great big deal.
I had a problem with someone on here , and long story short, we have made peace and are moving into , dare I say a friendship of sorts, if a month ago someone had said, " you and this person would be kind to each other " I would have called them a liar, but we are and life is so much better because the hatefulness is gone. TT allowed that to happen.
I think we need to be upset sometimes, heck I don't know of anyone that hasn't at one time or another didn't get on my nerves and I know people feel the same way about me, and that is OK, it is what we do after that, that means the most, do we get over ourselves and move on or do we throw our toys in the middle and say "I'm going home" and stop being friends. I think how sad it is that , that teacher stopped the person from not learning for herself whether TT was a good place or a bad place, it really is like life in general, there is some bad, but so much good I would be sad if I had missed it!
Hugs

Hi Everyone
I am getting ready to sign us up for Mission Fish thru ebay and they want an official Logo, so I thought I would give someone a chance to design a logo that will be used for all our promotions, this would be a great chance to show off your drawing ability.
If you are interested , the logo needs to be the following:
1. Generic bear, meaning I would like to see a bear on it, but not a signature style looking bear, something that all bear artists can identfy with.
2. our name "Bear Hugs for Hope"
3. can and should be in color, (but test your design in black and white to see how it would look in a newspaper)
4. Have a pink ribbon in it or the words "Breast Cancer Awareness"
email me your design at bearhugsforhope@comcast.net
enteries need to be in to me by next Monday
I will select a panel of judges to help me pick the winning design
This is a really great chance to show off your designing ability and get some national exposure, or I guess I should say international exposure.
If you have any questions post them here since I have found that if someone has a question more then likely others have that same question.
Here are some examples of Logos
Thanks so much
Jodi Moisan
I am not trying to brag, so I hope, hope, hope it doesn't come off that way, but I was so excited I wanted to share with you all. I had made a bear and listed in the gallery here on TT and everyone was so kind with your compliments, THANK YOU!!!! I had wrote about where the money was going for this auction.
here is the info I wrote:
"Here is my newest Storytime Bear , I am doing him for a kid that is staying with us over the summer, he is such a neat kid, he is a student at the local college, he is a T-comm major, he is in summer school and they are making a film about a local artist named Mandy. They have a very low budget so I told him I would make a bear , put it on ebay and donate the proceeds to the film. The movie is titled "Grove Lake" and it is about an artist named Mandy and long story short she is trying to save the canadian geese in her area by doing paintings, everyone loves them and she then tells them they are made out of goose poop. They will try to enter it in the Heartland Film Festival."
OK it sat for 79.00 for most of the week then it went up to 122.00 which I was so glad it went over 100, I was really going to be tickled if it went higher, because all the kids that are doing this movie have been watching the auction. Well I went up 4 hours before the auction ended to check the price and it was at 129, I told him I was really bummed it wasn't helping them out more. I checked on it when it had 30 minutes left and almost peed my pants when I saw it was a little over 400 then I refresh the page and it hits 610.00 I run to tell him and he thinks I am joking, he runs upstairs to see it and starts jumping up and down and high fiving me, then his phone starts ringing, all the kids are calling him to see if he saw the auction.
Now he says that the person who won will get front row tickets to the festival . Their bid made this movie happen, they were out of money and not sure where it was going to come from. I am a little worried though the person who bid has only 3 feedbacks So everyone please keep your fingers crossed this doesn't turn out bad. I am over the moon but a wee bit nervous.
hugs
Jodi
