If I did clay, would the bear still be cuddly?

What's a good way to do noses if you don't have vision?  Right now I'm using these little balls of fur that you glue on because I heard that embroidering involves drawing a picture and then tracing it.  Try doing that with your eyes closed, lol.

Sorry I can't see your bear, but I just have to comment because one of my favorite bears is named Lester.  He's a manufactured bear, though.  It's weird when you see another bear with the same name as your bear.  At least there probably won't be another Prot, lol.

I'm not sure how high quality my fur is because I get what they have at the fabric store and my husband and I both are on disability, so I have to be as economical as possible.

One of these days I'd like to try that pattern, but I'm definitely not ready to do a jointed bear yet.

Thanks for your comments.  It really means a lot to me that you liked the song.  If you guys ever need to make a video of your bears, you can use it if you would like, but I'd like a bear, kidding, but feel free to use the song.  I'll send you an MP3 if you need it.  Sorry, don't know how to do all those love graphics, but lots of bearlove to you all.

I'll let you know.  Let me know when you receive your bear.  I hope he doesn't have flaws.  My Meemaw made me a bigger pattern and that's actually easier in fur, so I hope he looks okay.  I used the pattern you gave me for your bear.

Actually, the intro on that song has a cool story behind it.  When I was two years old I had a teddy bear I carried around that had a music box that played Teddy Bear's Picnic.  I asked my Meemaw (that's a word for grandma) to sing a song about my teddy bear and she started singing, "I love my little teddy bear, I like to take him everywhere" to that tune.  I decided if I was going to write a song about a bear, I had to kick it off with that song.  I actually didn't realize the tune was Hush Little Baby until I played it for someone after I wrote it and they asked me why I started it off like that.  To me it was the Teddy Bear Song.  Meemaw was the only person who got it without me having to explain it, other than the bears, of course.  Good times.

How do you get the color you want if you can't see it?

You wouldn't want to do a swop for Pauly, would you?  My husband had a sock monkey that he loved as a little boy, but the evil houseparent at our boarding school where we both went took him away.  I would love to be able to give him to my husband whose name is Paul, BTW.

I have a weird bear I want to do.  I'm going to donate a bear to an auction to raise money for my old high school.  Their colors are blue and gold, so I was going to do one side of the bear blue and the other side gold.  My local fabric store has faux fur, but they don't have unusual colors and I really hate shopping online because I like to feel the fabric before I buy it.  I already have some white fur cut out into about five bears, so I was going to try to dye the fur the appropriate colors.  How do you go about doing this, especially when you can't see what you're doing?

It was definitely unusual.  He was afraid to try it, but I told him that if he couldn't fix him, I would still have a teddy bear and he would still be able to cuddle with me even if he can't talk.  I love this bear so much!!!
