I used Wordpress when I had a blog because Blogger is a pain to register if you use a screen reader, but since you have vision, you probably won't have any problems with Blogger.  I think Blogger and Blogspot are the same thing, BTW.

Happy Easter right back.

wubbiebear

That sounds like it would be very useful.

wubbiebear

I got him fixed!!  I took him to Radio Shack and they reconnected the wires in his paw.  He has his voice back, yaaaay!!!

I'm new to bearmaking and I want to see if I can sell a bear on the forums before I put one up on Bearpile.  If you saw the first bear I made, these bears are similar but they are a bigger pattern and I've switched to faux fur.  Right now I have one bear in brown and I think five in white, but if you want another color, I can order it.

My bears would be good for kids or adults, but they are not suitable for children under four because I use glue on eyes and nose, which could potentially pop off.  For those of you who don't know, I am almost totally blind, so my bears are definitely different from what you'd expect.  I'll post some pictures ASAP.

If you would like a bear, you can contact me on the forum or send me an e-mail at
jrmt10@gmail.com
I will except the best offer or I will also do a swop.  Thanks and beary hugs.

Well, the batteries are new.  I think it's on the inside of him.

wubbiebear

What commercial is it?

I think he's the Jerry Lee Louis of dogs.

I have a talking bear that is from the 80s.  He is supposed to repeat what you say when you press his paw and his mouth is supposed to move, but he doesn't want to work since I got him.  He doesn't look like he has been played with at all and he's basically in perfect condition except his voice box doesn't work.  I figure it's probably something really easy to fix, but I can't find anyone brave enough to try it.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

wubbiebear

I'm glad you got a kick out of it.  It was originally about getting a lawn mower to work, but I sort of tweaked it.

wubbiebear

Well, look who's on TT!!!  You gotta go see the picture of my boy.

wubbiebear

Oh, wow.  That sounds complicated, but I bet it looks cool.

wubbiebear

Wow, my prayers are definitely with you guys.

Maybe I'll get one of those if I can't figure it out using the method they suggested on the web site someone provided on here.  Yes, I'm from the USA, about a half hour from Nashville, Tennessee.  If you like country music, which I hear is pretty popular in Australia, you probably know about Nashville.

I sew by hand rather than a machine.  Would I be able to use this kind of threader?  Also, about how much do they cost?

wubbiebear

He's almost finished.  I gotta finish his head and then I'll be ready to turn and stuff him and then close him up.

wubbiebear

I have some of those, but I couldn't get the hang of it.  The trouble I have is getting ahold of the end of the thread and getting it to attach to the needle.  I have needles with big ol' honking eyes, but I just can't get ahold of the thread.  They need to invent a needle with a clasp on the end that you can open and then close it around the thread.

wubbiebear

That would be really cool.  Meemaw made me a bigger pattern and cut me out a couple bigger bears, but there is also one more bear cut out from the pattern you gave me and I would like for you to have him when I get him finished if that's okay.  He is made out of a brown faux fur that I love.

I just thought I'd share this little joke.  I sort of changed it so it would be about bearmaking.  A preacher decided he wanted to learn how to make bears, so he went to his local fabric store and got a pattern and all the necessary supplies.  When he got home, he spent hours trying to get the basics figured out, but he just couldn't get the hang of it.  Overwhelmed, he called the fabric store and said, "What do I do?"

The lady at the fabric store said, "Well, you have to give your fabric a good cussing first."

"But I'm a preacher.  I don't even remember how to cuss anymore," he said.

"Well, just keep playing with it for a while and it'll come back to you."

I usually get a long thread because I'm not yet able to thread a needle, so my neighbor usually gives me a lot of thread so I'll have a lot to work with.  I think I may have a way to do it, though, and then I'll be able to use shorter pieces.

wubbiebear

I brought my first bear I made to church after I finished him and they passed him around, too.  Actually, the bear needs to get saved joke was from my husband.  I guess in a way I'm afraid to bring a bear out in public because I was always told my love of bears was childish, which of course is a big load of balder dash, as they say in the UK, but for a long time I was selfconscious about carrying a bear with me.  Now, though, since I found all these bear forums and found out I was an arctophile, I'm proud of it.  Sorry to hijack your thread.

wubbiebear

They didn't pick on you when you walked into church with a bear, did they?  Whenever I have brought a bear with me to show someone or to get him repaired, I got a lot of jokes like, "Hey, does your bear need to get saved?"  I guess the people at my church just like to cut up and they always pick on me, though.  Plus, oh, yeah, you have eyeballs so you probably are able to keep him in your car until you can give him to your friend, oops.

wubbiebear

Awwww.  My favorite bear is a gold bear.
