I first heard about the dangers of this mulch last year. And I read just yesterday that Cocoa mulch has much more Theobromine in it than chocolate and is therefore much more toxic to dogs. It can easily kill a 50lb dog who ingests just a small amount of it! They really really should put a large warning label on this stuff!! Can't believe someone hasn't sued them yet over the death of their dog! How many dogs have to die before they do something! GRRRR!

I am so lucky to have one of Lyn's bears--she was my bear swap partner.  I have to say they are wonderful to see in pictures but are even better in person!

Here is my latest--another Westie. He was a custom order---the first I have ever done.  He will be going to Japan. though I found out the person who ordered him has a website where they sell westie items. So I don't know if they plan on simply turning around and reselling him or keep him for themselves. But in any case they are paying me a very good price  for him so I am happy.

I don't know anything about it. Can you provide a link to information about it? I so want to start doing Teddy bear shows but really don't know where to start. I also don't have the money to travel too much or too far.

I am so sorry to hear your little La La was taken. I know how it hurts to have your artwork stolen. Ive had artwork stolen from me at shows and craft malls when I used to sell at them (not teddy bear shows--haven't really done that yet). But it feels much more personal and hurtful when it is something we have made and put our heart and soul into creating.

Silly is FABULOUS!!! I am amazed you have only been making bears for a year! I too have only been making them for about a year. I have made great strides in my skills, but you have made  huge leaps and bounds in yours!!!BRAVO!!!

I have just started using nut and bolts for arms and legs and boy are they soooo much easier to get tight! I highly recommend them.  I still use cotter pins for the head so if you do the same you can still use all your cotter pins for head joints. Unfortunatly I don't have any tips for getting them tighter--I have the same problem.

There are new postage rates and boy are they expensive! I just sent a larger (14") dog to Australia and it was $48.00. So I too think the $25.00 is probably correct.

How horrendous that people are setting fires on purpose!  I pray everyone is safe from these terrible fires. It really would be scary and worrisome! Hopefully there will be relief from the intense heat very soon!

Kassie, You are an amazingly talented sculptor. I saw this fellow before and was astounded that you had only begun sculpting. I sculpted dolls for a short while before turning to making bears so know how hard it is to sculpt the human figure. I wasn't anywhere near as good as you are at it. Your doll is an award winner in my eyes!!! :clap:  :clap:  :clap:
