I'm fascinated by dreams. I quite often have vivid ones that stay with me for most of the day - you know that feeling? Like you've lived another life overnight?! Recently though, I've felt like I've had really busy dreams but they've disappeared in a flash when I've woken up.
I read somewhere that the best way to remember your dreams is to stay perfectly still upon waking - don't even twitch a muscle. Then focus on whatever you DO remember and try to drag the rest of it back into focus. The reason for not moving is something to do with 'gross motor function' - your brain starts to concentrate on your body rather that your memories as soon as you move (apparently!).
I was trying to teach myself to have lucid dreams for a while. Now that is something really strange! It worked to some extent - but these days I'm just too tired!
Andrea, you make a lot of sense!!! I just hadn't considered the exchange rate - doh
That must make a difference surely...the UK pound is quite strong right now....about US $1.90 to the pound.
I've been selling other stuff on eBay lately apart from bears and had noticed a slowdown on US/Canadian sales. European sales have been ok. I was selling through eBay UK so I bet this is the part of the reason (even though as Shantell said, the equivalent price is shown in dollars). Our postage has gone up recently too...
Nice to talk to you Andrea
Thanks Shantell...
It still kind of highlights that it's a foreign auction though, and since a lot of eBay sellers won't sell outside their own Country maybe there are buyers who don't like buying outside their own Country too?
I might try selling on both at the same time and see what happens!
Plum Duff will be one of the first to find a home Paula, I'm sure of it! He's totally gorgeous - just wish I could I could see him in person....good luck tomorrow! Hope it's a sell-out for you
Hi,
Here's a question for our American friends who (possibly) buy bears on eBay.... are you 'put off' by auctions that are listed in currencies other than US dollars?
I'm curious about this because of the new UK eBay catagory for artist bears (one of a kind) that makes it easier to list in the UK and US at the same time. Listing in the UK obviously means the auctions are in UK sterling. Is it best to continue listing on the US site instead?
I'm just wondering! Can you hear the cogs in my brain turning? LOL
First mini?! Nahhhh.....I don't believe you! LOL
He's lovely, especially the shading you've. And the nose. And his colours....well, everything!!!
Snickers will always be called 'Marathon' to me....

Sorry to hear about your problems Dilu, but glad you're managing to keep your chin up .
Big hugs!
PS We cross-posted....great news that you might be able to resolve your camera problems! Where would we be with this marvellous internet world of ours??!
Clare, glad to hear your feeling a bit better....I hope it continues to improve!
I know so many people who 'feel flat' at the moment, and since we're both in the UK I wonder if the shorter days don't have something to do with it? We seem to have had a long (in some places) and late (in others) summer this year and suddenly the nights are drawing in? It's either that or they've put something in the water!!! Seriously, many of my friends are suffering, and then if there are stresses on top of this 'down' feeling it's no wonder you need to pamper yourself a little bit.
Take care, play music, and eat plenty of that chocolate!
:rose:
PS I see a homeopath once every month or two - actually it's like therapy for me, a neutral person to talk about things that are bothering me. And the remedies seem to work for me. Most of all though, I feel pampered and looked after when I've been and it keeps me going for a while!
Hi Jennie :)
If you go back to edit your auction, click 'revise your item' at the top of the page and scroll down to 'payment & postage'. Then click through to the page with payment/shipping information on and there should be an option to tick boxes for the places you're happy to ship to....of course, it might be different depending which eBay site you're listed on, and I can't physically check those pages at the moment because I don't have an auction available right now.... (so I'm not much help really am I?!!! ).
Oh, and you should be able to do this as long as you don't have a bid... but once a bid is placed you can't change anything.
Something for the Cassidy Fans

I checked his website and he's touring in the UK next year...with the Osmonds!!!!
Tammy, I saw David Cassidy in London once while I was out shopping and dragging numerous plastic carrier bags behind me. What a sight I must have been! I was walking past one of the theatres to catch a bus and saw a red carpet event going on, so I stopped and watched. David got out of a posh car and stood within arms length of me!!! And at the age of 32, surrounded by carrier bags, I almost swooned...
*breaks out into a rash just thinking about it*
Big hugs to you Clare --- sorry to hear you sounding so down, and I hope life brightens up for you soon
How about putting on some of your favourite music? Something upbeat to make you happy? Or mellow to make you chilled....
Oh no! I'm going to be singing Puppy Love for the rest of the day....swoon!
(I was 9 years old too, and totally infatuated with Donny..and David Cassidy...!)
I also sew with tiny back-stitches, about one per 1-2 'weaves' of the material if you know what I mean . I used to sew really close to the edge but it depends on the fabric...even though they are pretty much all non-fraying, I had a few problems because I was just too close. Some backings are just tighter than others. So now I leave an edge of about 2mm, more if necessary.
I find the Sassy fabrics 'slide' really well against themselves making turning less difficult, even on the narrower pieces. My bears are usually over 3 inches tall though - I have no idea how some bear-makers can cope with even teenier bears!

This page says that in the NorthWest of England, it is considered a heatwave if the daytime temp peaks over 30 C and the nightime temp doesn't go below 15 C for 2 days. Which seems a lot lower than your threshold, but you have to remember that we don't generally have any air-conditioning here and the buildings are built for heat retention. So we don't get chance to really cool down :(.
I'm baking!!!!! And will have to switch off the computer soon, since the sun comes round to hit this room in the afternoons....
So is this global warming, do you think??!
Sarah, I would gladly send you some of our heat if I could! It's too much for me, and playing havoc with my sinuses (allergy). We even have a heatwave weather warning in place....sigh....
Oh what I wouldn't give for air-conditioning right now! What a wonderful hubby you have, Louise....
Yep, the UK is hot, hot, hot at the moment, and has been (on and off) for some time. Tomorrow is predicted to be the hottest day for years, possibly on record....in our area it should hit 36 C. We're just not used to it and our buildings are built to keep the heat IN - aaargh! My daughter's school is roasting and I worry for the little kids sweltering in their classrooms (flat roofed building, no air-con or fans). I gave her a long list of instructions this morning - keep her cap on, stand in the shade, drink lots of water etc etc....
Awww Kim....I had a hard time getting pregnant with my daughter and lots of things (healthwise and other) just seemed to crop up at that time....the last thing you need to do is stress about it. Easier said than done, I know! I know a little about ovarian cysts because I've had them myself. Luckily only the fluid type, which are apparently quite common, are usually hormone related and tend to clear up on their own. One of them appeared on the 20 week scan while I was pregnant! I was told it was absolutely nothing to worry about, although they can be uncomfortable.
Whatever the problem turns out to be, here's a big hug  - try not to worry, get the relevant tests done and fingers, toes and everything else crossed that you'll be feeling tickety-boo again in no time...
PS There's no chance you could be pregnant already is there???? I had to ask!!!!!
LOL Louise....you are so right! It's the differences between us all that make the world go round, that make our lives so interesting, that give us food (or drink??!!!) for thought....I would hate for us all to be the same. We are all growing.
I've had a little forum-break recently and returned to find various heated discussions going on. I'm a little bit sad about it but not really surprised. Situations like this happen in all walks of life and we should each try to learn from it and move on.
If I had a glass I'd raise it with you, Louise! But it's a bit early in the day for me....my family would worry....
Ooooh, yuk! What a horrible thing to happen! I'd hate that....
I've seen those flying ant thingies swarming out of the ground, and it was pretty scary. I was sat on the grass in the park I swear that for half-an-hour the air was filled with them as they all came out of holes in the earth and swarmed upwards - yuk yuk yuk!
I've had some really convincing spoofs lately too --- and I've been caught out on one occasion (but realised straight away and changed my eBay password immediately - phew!). One of them was even sent through eBay's own mail system!!! I'm generally suspicious of all ebay/paypal e-mails particularly if they have a link in them.
Glad to hear you realised in time that your e-mail wasn't legit, Christine!
Cindy, I'm full of admiration for the way you seem to be coping with a dreadful and emotional situation. Well done to you! Stay positive as much as possible and things will get better. Much better. And give Maggie a cuddle for me :).
I have tried the Bach Rescue Remedy as I'd heard many good things about it. For one of our dogs it altered chemicals or something in his brain that caused an adverse effect..... all of his symptoms or 'off' behaviors were magnified instead of calmed. Just my experience.
Daphne, I think I'm right in saying that this is the way flower remedies such as Bach sometimes work....and it has happened to me, too! It's called a healing crisis and is usually temporary. It has something to do with the negative emotions that we normally suppress, which are then released upon taking the remedy.

Aww, Pen - sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I hope everything turns out ok....
As for your neighbour....ring the police. I would have no qualms. Apart from the obvious cruelty aspect it's just downright dangerous, not to mention illegal. Here's a link with similar scenarios that might help you decide: http://www.gmp.police.uk/mainsite/pages … nswers.htm

Another useful site: http://www.defra.gov.uk/paw/crime/default.htm
If you witness what you believe to be a wildlife crime being committed, report it to the police straightaway, either by ringing 999 or your local station. Do not leave it until it is too late.

I think that ebay has picked up lately, after the tax time slowdown maybe? I am not listing this week (usually I have a new up on every Sunday) as next weekend is the 4th of July holiday weekend, and the last time I had a bear end on a holiday weekend it didn't do as well
Thanks for the reminder, Erin! I've found the same kind of thing - holiday weekends tend to be a bit quieter on eBay. And although I try to end my auctions on a Sunday evening, I think I'll do something different this week....
