Judi,thank-you so much
I am so thrilled.I just sent you my address.i know it will take me forever to get my bear done but I feel so happy knowing I have a purpose for her yarn now.I'm sure she's smiling and laughing at me thinking "sure Shari's going to get a bear knitted with my yarn soon, huh!" Oh well at least I can try
Thanks Judi.Your the best!
Big bear blessings,Shari.
Sorry,I mean 1 oz balls.
Judi, can I ask you a question please... I have 13(maybe 14) 10z balls of patons Molana,(it's 69%mohair and 31%pure virgin wool)in a soft beige that was my great Aunts at one time.It may even be very old.It claims to be mothproofed and designed for big size knitting needles. My aunt passed away from complications of breast cancer(a family illness,My Mom's a survivor) and I would love to knit a bear. What size bear would 13 or 14 balls make?I would love to have a jointed bear or one similar to the white one.I saw an adorable knitted bear that you put on ebay a while back.My aunt was a bear maker at one time and did bears for Eatons.I'm sure she would be tickled if I made her yarn into one.Can you advise or comment. Thanks so much for your time.Hugs and blessings,Shari.
Hey,thanks Dilu, her mane is Angel. She's my only unsaleble bear.Have you tried the purple marker that fades away?It doesn't show up well on dark colors though.
Happy Day,Shari.
Wow.More great info:P I knew about the different color thread in my bobbin but I only hand sew my bears.I have also used a black fabric marker and an orange one for a rabbit fur bear when I couldn't get orange thread.Gee,I hope my fabric marker does not turn purple,YUK.
I'm excited about trying invisible thread for my ears though.I'd also like to be a hip chick and hot mama.Bring it on!!
Hugs and blessings,Shari.
I'm sure I have a knitted pattern for a bear made with eyelash type yarn.I just did a quick search and of course I can't put my finger on it but I'm sure it will be the first thing I find when I'm not looking.I found a paw pad template that I was missing though so all is not lost :D
I really love your knitted bears Judi !!The pink one is adorable and I just want to hug the fuzzy one How long does it take you to knit one?
Hugs and bear blessings,Shari.
Thanks Judi ,I'll look into the Loc-line.I just adore your bears, they have so much character and personality!I don't think my bear places here have loc-line and flexi limb is very expensive.I ordered one just to see what they were all about and the lady wasn't long sending an email to see if I was making a bear with one arm or leg Hee,hee.I wish my bears did better on eBay or I knew where else to sell but I think I'm spending more than I'm making. Not that that deters me,you know how this "illness" works.Besides,it sooths my soul to create .
Blessings,Shari.
Thanks girls :) I'll check it all out right away.So nice of you to answer even though I'm way behind,sigh... story of my life.
Thanks Dilu:) I had made some of my own and thought they were perfect but I think the soldering is a wonderful idea.I'll have to ask hubby but he's just not in the mood right now Do you wrap your wire with anything(maybe duct tape) or leave it bear,I mean bare?I have the perfect wire just needed more advice on the part I put on my screw when jointing.Hugs and blessings, shari.
Hi,I'm wondering if someone could advise me on "wiring" my bear arms(or legs) so that they can hold or hug.Do I have to purchase flexilimbs or are there other options or ideas.i found an end to attach to wire and thought it worked but it came loose on one bear.I don't want this to happen.I would love any advice. Thanks and many blessings,Shari.
Wow,you guys have such awesome ideas!! I love your piece Shelli, just wonderful!! I'm sure it's going to be a smash hit.How wonderful that you have all these creative people to help,I didn't even realize there was so much support out there among bear artists until I stumbled on this board.I had heard rumors and new that "bear people" were the best but I just had no idea.Oh happy day!Blessings all,Shari.
Sue Ann,thanks for the wonderful comments.I browsed your site, very adorable.I love to see artists pictures of themselves so I have a face to put with a name:D You are also very busy, five cats.... I loved your bears and friends, especially Calypso and your Rooster. Talk to you soon, blessings Shari.

Hmm,I don't think either of my cataogues is from Vandykes.I'll have to look into that.Funny that you say tutoring,I'm an Elementary School Teacher without a full time job.I substitute and work at the store so I can keep up with my "bear" expenses.I have to get ready for work.Chat with you later, blessings,Shari.
I love the little cub attached to your postings,I am aspiring to make a bear that looks like a real bear cub.I have some taxidermy catalouges and am making open-mouth bears with polymer sculpted teeth.Next I'll work on my eyes. There's great info on this site,I happened upon it last night and there are some awesome ,talented artists involved.I feel like I landed on a cloud. Now to tear myself away and actually get some work done.Blessings,Shari.

Hi Rita:) I work in a fabric store and they bring in a few fat quarters.I just happened here last night and think it's a wonderful place to be.It'll give my husband more to complain about if I spend even more time on the computer.
My grandfather was born in Scotland, can't tell you exactly where though.
Blessings,Shari.
