Thanks a lot Lynne, you're very kind!
Pinky is adorable! Good luck on preparing for your first show - enjoy it!
Hugs,
Janice
Thanks Janice! I am looking forward to Hugglets, but I'm also very scared!
He's very sweet *_*
I was wondering if you do commissions too?
Thank you Yes I do take commissions so let me know if you're interested (it may be a while though, as the show is looming!)
Hee hee, with the scarf he almost reminds me of the great aunt in Paddington for some reason!
That's so funny! He was supposed ot be a girl so I may rework him if he isn't taken before Hugglets... we'll see!
Hi everyone!
I'm preparing for Hugglets, so Pinky's the last to be available online until after September, as all my time is going to be swallowed by my first ever show!
Hope you like him His name is Pinky, he was made from hand dyed Intercal mohair, and comes with a crochet ruffly scarf, also made by me
Thanks!
Chloe xx
Eeee, thanks for the sloth vid!
Thanks everyone! His auction ends today, keep your fingers crossed he bumps up a bit further for me XD
Hiiiii Tunnock It's been a while since we last collided, I'll make sure to risk my Mum taking over and run down to your stall at Hugglets to say Hi. I hope you have more chocolate related bears this year? THERE NEEDS TO BE A BOURBON Lordy, I've not had a bourbon biscuit in SOOO LONG....
wow! I am crazy about him!
Thanks a lot! That's a big compliment
Thanks guys Now I have my coveted Hugglets invite I can spend the next few months churning out sloths and bears and who knows what guilt free, so there will be plenty more where he came from!
Thanks Joanne and Kimberly, I really appreciate your comments I hope he finds his special someone soon, so he can keep his smile!
Thanks guys I'm hoping he sells soon as I'm trying to raise money for a trip across America before I leave: really don't want to have to put him on Ebay! Keep your fingers (and claws!) crossed for me?
Hi everyone!
I've not got too much info on this boy as I had to finish him for entry into my University's art show today, so a story, accessories, name... not even considered yet XD Thought I'd add him as he's my first sloth made with Intercals lovely fur!
He's my first with open/close eyes and epoxy claws too
Hope you like him
I think maybe you could seperate the animal catagories more than just rabbits, elephants, others? Just because there's so many amazing dog sculptors out there... I do think there needs to be more animal categories...
Hi Jenny, it's been a while but I'm pleased to see your bears haven't changed: if they have they've only got cuter! I love Woodie, wish I had a hoody like his
I love their noses! Have a great time at Hugglets, wish I could go
Thanks a lot Lesley Sadly the Cape Town chapter of my Summer has drawn to a close now: it was an amazing journey so I'm sad to have left. I am now however, in America for the first time in my life! I arrived in Indiana yesterday so I'm still a bit sleepy: i have a drawer full of mohair here though, just in case ;)
Going to look up American suppliers now
Aww, thanks everyone I must admit Tami, I do check your blog every once in a while because I really like your writing style: writing one myself is increasingly difficult though! I seem to be in the habit of repeating myself
Definitely want to meet up for a good chat when I'm settled in!
Sue Ann you're never too late to learn I appreciate that this will be the only chance I'll get to have this experience though: it's been a mind blowing few weeks. Thank you for the well wishes: talking to the American girls here I'm really looking forward to America (even after having 'Biscuits and Gravy' explained to me!)
Thanks Joanne I'm having a great time I'm glad you like the horse: he took a while but I think he adds a nice touch! I'm happy to report that their new owner loves them both
Maria I would happiliy swim through penguin poo to avoid handling some of the birds: the smell is not at all dreadful so it's not as dramatic as it sounds, butr some of the penguins have caused many injury's to hands and legs here at the AVIVA house! I love it that any sloth image makes people think of me Sorry to be missing you at Hugglets this year!
Hey all! Just wanted to apologise for my long absence: I have not given up OR died, just been incredibly busy! I finished my degree in June and now I'm in Cape Town working on a penguin conservation project so there's not been much time for bears and sloths: I've only finished two since Easter...
Not sure how much I'll be on until I get settled in America in August but wanted to let you all know I'm doing a little travel blog if you'd like to see Cape Town in all it's glory interspersed with photos of me covered in Penguin poo It's here: http://four-continents-four-days.blogspot.com/ . Below is Tumbleweed: one of an increasingly rare creation collection!
Love to you all x
Hey Diane,
I've not been active in a good while because of my degree but popping back on your post has really caught me. I always wanted to own one of your bears (the little pink one has my attention now!) because to me they are an embodiment of everything I can't do: gorgeous vintage bears! I'll be very sad if this is the end for your teds. Having just put myself through Uni I can safely say there is financial help out there for those who need it, so hopefully that worry can be at least lessened, if not actually removed.
I hope you get the break you feel you need, but come back soon!
Krista, my cat would MURDER if he was cut like that The similarity between the real cat and your version is amazing. Did you use two lengths of mohair, or just trim it like a groomer would?
Awww, I love her! She looks like she's having a great time!
Thanks Kathy and Christine,
Mollie's arthritis got the better of her it would seem, although my mum had her put to sleep two weeks before I found out... she was pretty old and my mum said the vet and nurse who helped her were so good with her she doesn't understand why we don't reserve that treatment for our own terminally ill... I missed her fuzzy face a lot whilst I was home for interview
I will keep you all updated on what I can find out bout selling rules: fingers crossed!
Thanks everyone The news is bittersweet for me as I found out just before the interview that my dog Mollie had passed away, so I feel a bit bad for the good news if you know what I mean? I am very excited, but I don't think it has sunk in properly... I feel like I'll get an e-mail saying 'whoops! sorry, wrong one!' :P
I'll look into resale numbers, thank you Donna and Ellen
