How sad for your friend and her house burning down. I don't know how to have your friend to stop crying. I think jus t being there for her and listening patiently when she needs to talk would be helpful. As time goes by, the sorrow wil fade. Right now her saddness is very raw.
is the Red Cross involved? They can help people getting services, starting with basic needs like food and shelter. Perhaps getting some of the businesses in the community to help with donating items to get her household basics started. Calling 211 and asking what are the community resources in the area that can help. In most communities just dialing 211, like 911, connects you to a person that can five all kinds of referrals to get help. If dialing 211 does not connect you to somebody than go to this link and type in your friends zip code and you will see the phone number to call.

Very sweet.
I only hope she did not suffer. What a sad day.....

I did sew a mini like that on a machine and it was cute. I had to buy a special needle that was very thin for the machine. There is something about hand sewing that I love and I think you have more control of the detail. so for minis, that is my preference.
Here are some books you can buy off of Amazon.com that tell you how to make bear cloths.

Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip SueAnn. I do have a question. Do you have to heat set the prisma color markers?

Joanne writes: One more thing to add. I know you say your name is not very memorable, but make sure you also use your name. I know bears by their makers names, so much more than their business names. Not just from here or facebook, but for some reason the name and face of the artist sticks with me.
Joanne
I don't have a business for I don't sell my bears so I can't advise from personal experience. But I took a bear making class By Denis Shaw and one of the students asked about how to name a bear business. From what I understood Denis to say is that you should have your name as part of your brand. He said it is easier for people to remember your name rather than trying to remember what you named your business. Plus you want people to know who made the bear right?
Take Joannes advice and put your name in the branding. that is my two cents.
That was fun. I count six. Is one a lion?
Joanne: That is a darling bear!!
  Love it.
TT has changed. I have seen people drop off and new people join. I don't blog or tweet or do face book. I don't have time really. But here in this wonderful forum, I can come and see bears, cute animal pictures that make me smile, learn/share techniques, read about things happening around the world from first hand accounts from members in different countries and meeting nice people who enjoy the art of bear/soft sculpture. It is all her in one place. It is also a place where bear hugs can be found when one is having a bad day or a fabulous day. Now tell me where else can somebody find all of this wrapped in one place? We make this forum what it is. For those of us who are still here, we can enjoy the friendships and joy of what we bring to it. I enjoy every minute I am here being a part of this forum.
Heidi this is for you:
