What a dear sweet doggie she is Millie, how could anyone be cruel to such a beautiful little girl...and I'm so glad you chose Lily for a name, it was my grandmother's. I love her little brown boots!
I wish the mag didn't take such a long time to reach Oz...I know Mindy enjoyed that shoot and I am dying to see the full results.
Congrats Kelly on being the "Cover Boy" for the month!   Well deserved too!!
This is a special month for me, it's when I like to do something for Breast Cancer Research...this month I have decided to donate $100 from the sale each bear/critter of my Prim Country Collection to Breast Cancer Australia.
Congratulations Krista ... a well deserved win!
He looks like I feel!
Jane some people just don't seem to have any sense of humour at all.
My heavens if you can't have a giggle with friends, what's this world coming to.
We all know there's not a mean bone in your body and would never do anything to intentionally hurt anyone's feelings.
You could put me on with my head on upside down, in between my knees and I wouldn't care,
it's all in fun and after all, laughter is the best medicine!

Never even knew it was on...not that I would travel that far again...and I much prefer BEAR ONLY shows.
Hope those that do go have fun!
This month at TBACA we feature another Teddy Talker...Christine Child from Boot Button Bears.
You know the one...she makes great ol' fashioned bears.
Stop by and take a peek!

Congratulations Bonnie! A well deserved win!
Thank you all for your congratulations...it's very heart warming to receive such nice comments from you all. I must admit I probably wouldn't have entered if it hadn't been for Kathy's invitation in the first place as I very rarely enter competitions these days, unless I'm coerced.
A very special thank you to Lynette for making it possible and fun.
A big THANK YOU to all those that voted for Matilda in the Taiwan Teddy Bear Olympics.
I received the news this morning and couldn't have been more surprised...really you could have knocked me over with a feather!
AND A HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS to the Gold and Silver Winners!
of a bunch of girls than I am of my TBACA members.
The members of Teddy Bears and Critters Australasia have been so touched by the plight of Bobo and other wonderful bears, they have decided that when they hold their “Be My Valentine” Online Show, on 14th February, 2009 they will have a special booth for Bobo.
Bobo’s booth will have a selection of bears made by the members, which can be purchased by collectors, with all the funds raised from the sale of the bears, going to Free the Bears Fund Inc.
With the membership growing daily, these wonderful soft sculpture artists are extremely excited at the prospect of raising in excess of $2,700, enough to care for ten more bears for a year.
Thank you for your support of such a worthy charity...you certainly are leading by example!
May God bless you all!
Your post got me thinking Sandi so I went to my links page and clicked on everyone. They all worked but very few had done reciprocal links back to my site. Not sure what to do... a gentle reminder?
Nancy I would send them a copy of your banner again with your current link and ask them nicely if they could pop it on their links page as promised. Check back in 14 days if it's not up and running then I would say it would be fair to delete their banner off your site.
I am a great believer in EQUAL RIGHTS ... Banner for Banner and Name link for Name link ... None of this, I'll put your lovely banner on, if you put a tiny little name link in some out of the way position on you site where no-one or his dog can find it!
I wonder how often you clean up your dead links on your sites? I noticed a lot of web sites out there with links that are no longer valid or in business or those that link to irrelevant pages...some not so nice.
Do you check to see that when you swap links, it has a actually been honoured? I have found some that don't even have a links page let alone have honoured the swap.
Sometimes people revamp their sites and lose a banner/link along the way unintentionally, so it may pay to let them know your banner/link is missing.
I think our web sites are our business houses and should be maintained to show our best image to our current and perspective collectors...so I am getting ready for Spring Cleaning Fever!
Thank you all, I am so glad you like our Bobo.
Free the Bears Fund has been working with the Cambodian Forestry Administration to provide a sanctuary for rescued bears since 1997. Located at the Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre, some 40km outside of the national capital Phnom Penh, the sanctuary has grown as more bears continue to arrive each year and now covers an area of more than 5 hectares. Sixteen forested habitats have been built to house almost ninety bears (a mixture of Sun bears and Asiatic black bears) of different ages and personalities. The bears in our Cambodian sanctuary come from a variety of different backgrounds; some arrive with terrible injuries after being caught by hunters using snares whilst others are found in traders houses, awaiting sale to the highest bidder. Once at our sanctuary they are treated for any injuries at the Cambodian Wildlife Hospital and slowly integrated into a social group consisting of animals of a similar age.
Any young cubs are given around-the-clock care and bottle fed until they are old enough to be introduced to other infants in our nursery group. All of the enclosures at our Cambodian sanctuary are extensively furnished with pools, rocks, climbing frames and a variety of enrichment toys to ensure that the bears are kept happy and healthy at all times. Free the Bears Fund covers 100% of the running costs of the bear sanctuary, employing a team of seven local keepers to care for the bears.
This is something I have been passionate about for many years, first becoming involved through the old Melbourne Teddy Events and again through The Woodend Teddy Bear Show where all the money from the raffles goes to sponsor Dewi (shown below). We couldn't achieve that without the kind raffle donations from our lovely bear artists who participate each year.
This is Mary Hutton, the founder of Free the Bears, with Bijli
This is Bobo, the newest member of TBACA.
Our sponsorship goes to Bobo's up keep for a whole year.
More info on Bobo http://www.teddybearsandcritters.com/bobobear.htm ... check him out!
EDIT: We had a slight booboo with Bobo...we got the wrong photo first time around!
Congratulations to both of you!
Paula I got your email thank you.
After sending this second email (after comments on another post regarding emails going astray):
Hi again ...!
Could you please acknowledge you received my email and give me some idea when I can expect my copies of Collect It?
Thanks,
Sandi
This is the very curt reply I received today...no "Hello" or "Regards"...now you can understand what I mean about courtesy!
Have asked our subscription department to come back to you
...
(I have ommitted the person's name for obvious reasons.)
All I can add is I wouldn't advertise with any business that treats it's customers this way...would you?
EDIT: I'm glad your cheques are turning up...but have any of you who opted for the mag substitution received any further communication?
My heavens I seemed to have touched a nerve...no it's none of you.
who don't have enough courtesy to reply to emails or private messages?
Makes me wonder just what this world is coming to!
