It is sad, and I am sorry that you had that moment of panic-sick feeling. We've all had the feeling so we know what you went through.
Thankfully al'ls well.....and with ebay that can be quite something.

Dear Ruth,
The (UK) moral is ; always leave a good 2 dollars under the current limit . FYI , the parcel label also states the import "gift" limit (person to person)
as £36.00 GBP.

Your whole topic made for entertaining reading, which wasn't your point, and I realize it, but we do have to get our chuckles where we can.
SSO Thank you for sharing your story start to happy finish, or, well, not so happy, but at least informative.
How frustrating to have to worry about daily fluctuations in rates.
Of course, we Yanks, with the dollar doing a freefall, I guess we should be thinking hourly exchange rates. Sigh.
HHowever if I read correctly, you are happy with your fabrics and rrejuvenatedto begin anew making wee ones?
Happy Sewing

For minis I use kapok or cotton, for the bigger guys I use a polyester-from CRS crafts....it packs so nicely and lumpy free.....
I hate how the cottn and the Kapok go all over the place, and up your nose, in your tea, in the shower, in the cat's water......is there no where this sryff wont show up?

All of us at TT love it when our fellow members succeed, and one of them has in a really big way!
Nancy T., a supporter of TT as well as Bid 4 Bears and the new site, has just finished her very grueling, intensive, exhaustive course in her real world job. She is now a detective, and will be one of the forensic detectives that processes crime scenes and tries to figure out who dun it.
Think CSI folks.
Why do I think this is so special?
Because Nancy, who is always and forever thinking and doing for others will now be one of the select few who will be speaking for the dead, and trying to find the facts to process so that the dead will have justice.
This isn't something just any willynilly could do, it takes a very special person to be able to do this sort of work. The exactness will seem like rocket science, and the painstaking care the CSI people have to take will feel like brain surgery....
Nancy spent 10 weeks in a special college away from family and friends to meet her goal and is now safe and sane at home again.
Well Done Nancy!!! The bad guys in Thunder Bay better watch it!

Hi guys
I have some friends planning a trip, and because we live in a rural area, and no longer does our country have public ;ibraries, and they don't have computer skills, (like I do?) they asked me to find out about good times for traveling around to your area, Actually they are leaning towards Tahiti etc.....But you folks are the closest I know....
So in Sept. In Hawaii its so humid you could cut the air with a knife. Are there times like that over there, and if so when? When the rainy season hits is it 24/7 or is it only at night, but clears up in the morning?
How hot is hot? celcius is OK-the hubs can translate.....
Are there other things I should tell them about this area? Like don't take polyester clothing, or anything like that?
Yep, i am googleing info for them too-but its always better to try and get info from real live folks who kinda know the area better.....
Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
dilu-who wishes they would stay home and send her....sigh
Oh I think the idea of keeping it to your neck of the woods is a smashing idea-all the Kiwi/Aussie aertists in one place-I am looking forward to it....You'll do a gransd job of it....

I am so sorry Aleta,
But what do you mean by watch list? Are you concidering agressive treatment?
People live with heart mumurs just fine. Does Walker get outside to play or does he play in the house? Is he heavy? I would first concider the factors that stress the heart that I can have some control over. like exercise and weight loss. Of course people take anitibioitics prior to dentle work and such.....do you brush his teeth? (Just to keep them healthy so that he wont need the abx?)
Such a nice breed, the Birman, I sincerly hope Walker will be spending many more years with you.

I use nuts and bolts with wood discs for the large heads, and I buy extra long bolts at the hardware store. took the discs in to check sizing. Then after they are on as tight as I can make them I cut the bolt excess off. It has the advantage, when cut off, of screwing up the threads so that there is no way the thing can ever unscrew itself----it may get loose, but its not going anywhere....I get all the hardware and discs from Intercal, in their economical large size quantity-except for the extra long bolts which, like I mentioned, come from the hardware store.
When i first started here 2 years ago I compared Intercal's pricing with the box stores and the local hardware store....Intercal had the costs beat down cold. So I stick with Intercal.
You don't have to be strong to use a good quality bolt cutters, they have this leverage thing going for them.
best wishes
dilu
Oh Gabby this is absolutely wonderful news. Congratulations, i guess you have a lot of teddies ahead of you. I think thats Grand.
