I saw that a few days ago Maria, and sent it out to A LOT of friends- my favourite cheezburger for a long time!
Phew, I'm glad to hear it was just a mistake of mine and not an actual rejection! I'll go reapply :P
EDIT: All my coding for my main page has disappeared
hours of work gone! I've e-mailed them to ask- the rest of it's ok, but god knows where my index page has gone...
I'm hopefully going to get a Christmas swap bear from a Teddy Talker for Christmas- that'll be enough for me!
I've added myself today great idea!
I see everyone's gone straight for the yes with your guys Daphne, and I agree- even though they're wide for you they're not wide enough for an old timer style- did you want your bears to look like your bears will look in fifty years time, or were you wanting the Steiff look? If its the first then obviously our advice may not apply! I think for an older style bear I'd have a go at lengthening the mouth with two more stitches at a more horizontal angle.
I do really like these bears though Daphne- there's only a few thing you could do really! I think they weren't picked up becuase they're not what people expected as well, so take heart
Yey Ellen! That is a bit of a challenge, but I'm sure you'll figure something out for them! I think the end of January will be fine- makes it easier for me too as I'll be able to sew before term starts and the Literature Review deadline begins to loom
Excellent I can't wait to tell whoever it is and get their opinions when he arrives!
Hey Everyone, sorry to bump a bit but I'd like to remind you all the giveaway will end the day after tomorrow if you'd like to stick your name down :)
Thank you Paula for providing the first entry to my challenge
My Popples is on the way, but offset by the necessity of deadlines and a mermaid costume...
I'd like to see more of guys like this- the different ears works really well with your design, I think!
Tell your daughter thanks from me, Judi I agree with her about the black faced lambs- Black faced sheep are my favourite!
I'm really glad to see another of your Lambs, Judi I really like them!
Elsie and Taiwan Angel- anything dear to you and especially reminiscent of your childhood is ok by me
I got started on the head of my new bear- it's coming together better than I thought it would!
I really dont mean this in a bad way at all. He reminds me of cousin IT on the Adams Family. Too cute for words. Well done you for thinking out of the box. I love him
Lol! That's brilliant! I feel a really long haired mini coming along :D
Fairy Tulip went to a very interesting lecture about genetic disorders with me today, just for fun We have a really lovely photo of a Downs baby in our notes, and my friend Chris thought there was some comparison
Thank goodness Downs babies are really happy and sweet- everything a girl wants her sloths to be!
Thanks guys, glad you like him I will set up the giveaway on Wednesday, I think- asking for the usual comments (although I may also ask or constructive criticism too!)
Here's a decent photo of him:
Ruddy ridiculous... I have left fours before, but I did not realise that was such a bad thing- I have left them when I thought the shipping charge was a little too high, not becuase they were bad sellers! Stupid Ebay!!
Hey Susiray :)
I think the usual thing is to set the legs a little further back along the curve of the body, moving the joints more towards the tail? You could also try changing the foot pattern- making the outside of the foot slightly shorter might hold th entire foot out more?
Aww take heart Jenny, I was a dancing, singing sheep for my final Nativity
Ok, so I know I should be working, which is why no big sloths have been created in the last month or so, but a creation that I can fit into a study break? *le gasp* a first for me and the Lugly's!
This is Fairy Tulip (so named because I am re-reading a lot of Terry Pratchett at the moment- Fairy Tulip will be joined by Fairy Daisy and Fairy Hedgehog later). He's my first 4" tall petite Lugly, made out of desperation to use up scraps, and also because I want to have something cheaper to offer people who like my sloths but can't afford the prices the auctions get to- I'm hoping this will help me in my savings for South Africa too.
I'm planning on selling them through Etsy, but in the mean time ) was thinking of offering him in a giveaway on my blog- what do you all think? He's not perfect (mainly because of my use of black thread for sewing  ) but I really like him still Would anyone be interested? If not I'm very happy to keep his bemused little face around!
(sorry about the photos... it's night here, but I couldn't wait until morning!)
Hiya Dawn, congrats on all the nominations! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, O Transporter-of-Marmite
Thanks for all the info, Carolynn! That'll be a big help- we're going to be staying at a house in Table View, but travelling out to the penguins so I'm not sure where they'll be
Don't worry Sue Ann and Ellen, you kno how I am for photos! Hopefully we will be able to use the internet there too, so you should get lots of updates
Aww, Kim- that's a sign of love! My sister had a cuddly dog called Franny, and she's more of a dog pancake now XD Happily I think my Popples was always a bit flat, so you can't really tell :)
My mohair arrived, and it's perfect! I can't wait to get started!
Thanks Janice, me too!
Ellen, if I don't get to hug a penguin whilst I'm there I will demand a refund After all, this girl got to!
Thanks guys! You're right Paula, I'm sure it'll work out fine I just have to find a balance between bear making and work XD Money vs. Degree- obviously there's no compromise but still... argh! I need more time!!
I'm really looking forward to it a lot
Love your Doll Tami! I really want to give this a go, but I really can't afford one... phooey I really like the look of Grown Up Coco on the LatiDolls site, but she'd be almost £150- far too much for a girl saving to wrestle with penguins! I'll just have to admire from afar... boo
They were the twins, right? Pink and Blue? All I remember are those two and the lion- he was pretty cool Maybe I should try them too!
Andrea, I love the sound of your mouse- I wish I had his ears sometimes! Lol, you should try something with magnets to hold his ears shut across your new mouse's body!
How's everyone doing with their challenge pieces? I see by Paula's blog that hers will be revealed soon- sadly I am behind a bit as I've only just found the right mohair for my Popples recreation
