Do let us help you choose a new house! I love househunting, but {like you} hate moving. Too bad that one usually means the other!

Good luck selling and buying!  We're moving in a couple of weeks (closing on a house at the end of the month) so I've been packing.  We can vent to each other about packing and moving.   bear_grin   bear_tongue

Chrissie....
How exciting to have a new home for Christmas!
You guys have been busy with the store and house buying, etc.!
At least you don't run the chance of moving during a snow storm!!!
I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Marie - That's too funny! I'll pack bears last because the thought of them in a box for any period of time makes me feel awful! I won't let them ride on the moving truck either. They'll come with me in my car!

I will pack my sewing room first though because it is organized and easiest. The thought of packing the rest of my house scares me!

Daphne I am just thrilled to bits for you and Henry.  I hope this is the answer to your prayers.  Sometimes a new start can make a huge difference, and give a new perspective on things.  Enjoy the moment !!!  It's about time.

Daphne, a lot of stuff is happening lately.  Definitely no snowstorms to worry about when we move - although there was snow in central FL the other night.  Where in Maine are you moving to?  I've been to Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport and Freeport.  It's so pretty there and the lobster rolls are yummy.

I feel bad packing my teddies too.  That's going to be one of the last things I do so they won't have to be in there too long.   bear_original

LOVE to go to LL Beans! My uncle lives in Bar Harbor and we love to visit and go shopping there! When are you coming back to Maine??? bear_original

Daphne,

Kennebunk was pretty.  We saw the Bushes house while we were there, but unfortunately, they didn't invite us over.      I loved shopping in Freeport.  I'd like to go back to Maine.  DH has never been.  Plus, now I have a friend there.  bear_original

We moved into our house this weekend and are trying to unpack.  I feel back for the teddies that are boxed up.  Poor Bluebeary is boxed up but at least he's boxed with friends.

Deb - Heart and Soul.... I was just there today!!! Lots of christmas goodies!!! I LOVE that shop! WHEN you come visit I'll tell you about another prim shop that's off the beaten path in Sanford.

Henry is a manufacturing engineer. He's specialized in the aerospace and automotive industries until this new job came along with Corning, Inc. at their life sciences facility where they make medical products for disease research. It actually all sounds interesting even to me!!

Our Anniversary was Dec. 2nd. We were too exhausted to go out so together we made french toast and scrambled eggs for dinner and then snuggled with the dogs on the couch and watched the movie "Cars".... love that movie! Not the most romantic celebration but that's ok. This was our 6th anniversary.. the honeymoon is over! bear_happy

We are NOT having any luck finding a house............ NONE! it's not like we have 6 months to do this! Henry starts work on Dec 18th... they'll pay for a hotel for 30 days, max. Even in the off season and at a corporate rate hotels aren't cheap so we hope to have a house in 30 days! HA!

Chrissie - Give Bluebeary a hug for me when you unpack him!!!

Daphne, what about the Extended Stay Americas?  I've seen them around Kansas City and Columbia, MO and must assume something (corporate) like that must be Statewide?  I know its far from perfect, but maybe you can fall back on something similar til you can locate your home?  I'd hate for you to be shoved into a home just because you had to have something.

Oh, we have "Cars" and its quickly becoming one of my favorite movies.  Loved it the first time through, and each time, there's more layers and depth to it  bear_wub Congrats on your anniversary

Oh, they've got a wonderful longterm hotel they are putting him up in.... on the quaint coast of maine you don't find many 'chain' hotels, or restaurants for that matter and we're right on the coast in the heart of touristville! bear_original We can $wing it if we haven't found a home yet. We aren't going to make a hasty decision but weeks and months of accomodations does add up and we'd just like to avoid that and not live in separate states from each other for TOO long. It'll all work out. Thanks for the suggestions!

Daphne thats so intersting ..my dh has an extensive background in machining..and we make currently ,,diagnostic medical testing equipment for a vt firm called Biotek..we used to both work for GE ( and the 5 otther companies it morphed into)..alot of their work is now done in Maine..most of what we did there was mechanical and electrical assy,,terry worked with R&D and the engineers quite a bit, still does actually..but they cant pay what master machinists used to get..and hes sick of that work anyway after 40 odd years of it..we were married 11 years on Nov 17th..our celebration was very similar,,wiped out wih all the surgeries hes had recently,,we're done now im pleased to report..the artery in his neck is done now too and everything went swimmingly! yeah! i was worried sick this last time! not ready to lose him! ( actually will never be!)good luck with the house search,,cant wait to hear about that other shop! how are the shows coming?  deb

oh wow, Kennebunkport how lovely! There's some gorgeous old houses in that area, and awesome shops and inns and stuff- I imagine it would be an expensive area for house hunting bear_sad
We stayed in an old Inn there, supposedly Paul Newman had slept in my room/bed  bear_happy
