Hello Jenny
To you and all UK members I had the same problem a few times and so decided to open a PAYPAL VISA PAY AS YOU GO card and transferred into the card rather than my bank (as Visa is accepted everywhere) and noticed it takes 2-4 days max as it is an internal transfer. I then pay for my Bear materials and bills with the Visa. Just a thought.....Hope it arrives soon xxx
The detail is amazing for such a tiny bear.....well done

Hi all
Thank you sooooo much for all your advice. I am having heat therapy and massage which seems to be helping with the swelling and pain. I have been working on a smaller bear which seems to be better for some reason so hopefully I will be back on track. I have so many ideas for my new bear - can't wait!

Hi Michelle
I am sorry to hear of your pain and in both arms too ~ OMG poor thing! Thanks for the advice, I will start to make smaller bears and see how I get on.

I have had quite a few emails from collectors asking me why I have not made anymore bears and as crazy as it sounds this is what happened to me overnight without any prior pain or warning:
One morning 5 months ago I woke up in severe pain down my right arm and found I could not move my fingers?! Clueless as to what I had done I went to the doctors who, said it was a bad case of Tennis Elbow (don't play tennis only golf)... I had cold treatment therapy which was successful until I started sewing again and it came back with a vengence so the doctor recommended a steroid injection which worked wonders for the first few weeks but as soon as I tried to use a needle by the next morning my arm and fingers swelled up again.....
I have now had an arm/hand brace fitted which, due to the metal built in which can't be taken out (unlike the ones off the shelf) makes it impossible to hand sew my bears...Any suggestions?
I am gutted, I miss making my bears and I had just mastered a new technique for little bears...
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what treatment worked for you?

I just wanted to thank everyone for their useful advice and information with regards to photographing fur and despite my problems with the photography side, Oliver sold and the purchaser who lives in USA was very happy with him....YIPEEEEEEEEE  xx
Thank you Jenny,
I do have a light box but only use it for my china/porcelain restoration projects....It didn't occur to me to stick the bear in the box?!
I have taken better pictures with the box outside however, someone has bid on Oliver so I can't change the pictures (typical). I can take comfort in that the picture of him sitting licking his lolly is probably true to his colour in home light and the rest are what he looks like in daylight.
Thanks for all the advice....
Wow.....That is an awful lot of information to take in. Thank You..... I will chew on it and use it on my next finished project. The sure thing is that we are going to have "overcast" weather within the next day or so at least I can take comfort in this!.....HUGS
Oh that is so funny - We have had nothing but overcast/rainy days in England for the past 4 months.....except today of course which, I thought would be the perfect setting for photos (got that wrong)....
It's nice to know I am not the only person that struggles with dark fur in photography.
I am really pleased the general opinion is that he is cute...at least that comes across....I have revised my eBay listing 3 times already - first I forgot the Lolly then I just couldn't bear (pardon the pun!) the fact that Oliver didn't portray his true colour and then I had to completely change ALL the photos as his head didn't look like it does it real life....I really am clueless as to how that happens.....
I have 4 bears on the go (one being a rabbit which I didn't get time to finish for easter) and I am really pleased to say none of them are brown!
I was working on china restoration project this week but got it finished at 3am this morning so tomorrow, I will be working on one of my unfinished creations.
Fingers crossed Oliver despite his colour differences will sell on eBay but, if he doesn't, there is always Portobello!

Hi All....
Firstly, I do apologize in advance for moaning but, I just don't have a talent in photography....
So a couple of days ago I asked about the colour of my new bear Oliver and you all agreed it was dark brown with light wisps....
I wasn't really happy with the pictures not just because of the colour of the fur but also, the shape of his head to his neck....It looked like his head was too big for his bodyand really it isn't and also that his legs were skinny and they are not it was all shadows....So today I took oliver outside in the sunshine, gave him a lolly and this is what I got....Can you believe no two pictures are the same?! How is this? I am using natural light?!
GASP...WITH FRUSTRATION....! I'm never going to use Dark Brown again! Boo Hoo!!!!
Can you believe the last picture is the same bear as the sitting picture....They look completely different colours and yet I never moved the SUN!........Any advice?
Still I have put him up on eBay and just hope that everyone gets the gist that he is dark brown.
HUGS
Hi all, thanks for your input. I have put him up on eBay and explained in the listing that the different colours only show in bright sunlight and generally Oliver looks brown : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? … 9.....Hope you all like him...I love making him.
Hugs  xxx
Hi thanks for your feedback and I have now adjusted my monitor settings (turns out my son had changed them to play warcraft!).....Now I see him a completely different colour than what he actually is - he is darker?! I had to laugh - looking at the picture I was thinking why his eyes are not deep in his head and realised I haven't actually finished him as the needles are still hanging out the back of his head which are attached to his eyes LOL......Will post the rest of him later but off to in-laws for Sunday Lunch....Thanks for your input - HUGS  xx Later
Oh thanks! Must be my monitor settings?! Really appreciate feedback.
Hello
This is driving me crazy!
Can y'all be so very kind and tell me what colour Oliver is on your monitor? He is supposed to be dark brown but not solid dark brown - he has wisps of shades of brown going through him. The trouble is I have taken loads and loads of photos and he looks black on my monitor....Any suggestions?
I really am not good at the photos bit not to mention it takes forever!
Really appreciate your input in this....BUG HUGS xxx
I have Paypal only in my auctions and explain to the Buyer that it is for their protection as well as mine. However, a couple of years ago on what is now my ewax account (I have 2 seller accounts), someone in France won my auction and 5 days later when I asked him to pay, he said he did not have a Paypal account and nor did he want one and that he would pay in Euros.
I pointed out to him my item description and clear instruction that I only accepted Paypal and gave a second chance offer to the next bidder down who accepted and paid with Paypal. Well you can imagine how irrate the French man was - he left me negative feedback. I was gutted but, at the end of the day, Paypal is my protection and probably the only thing that gives me comfort in trading with so many rogues out there and now that Paypal have the online postage system there is no way a buyer can deny it was sent! Stick to Paypal!
