Thanks for replying Tami. I enjoyed the website and sent them an e-mail also to see if there were any people on the two islands who made bears. Hope you have a wonderful trip and happy anniversary.

Hi everyone: I am going to Hawaii the end of January and wondered if there was anyone in Kauai or on the Big Island that made teddy bears - would love to visit with them. New e-mail address: alhamill70@gmail.com

I am a new bear maker and have just learned a tiny bit about needle felting noses and paws. I can't find any supplies where I live and have gone on line to buy but I am overwhelmed with the choices. I just want to buy a few supplies i.e. felting and needles, to try - anyone have any advice where to start?
I am now retired and looking forward to taking some on-line classes but in the meantime I would like to try my hand at needle felting.
Thanks. Anne
Thanks to you all for all the great advise. I will certainly take one of the on-line course. Retiring the 13th of June  so will have lots of time to devote to learning as much as I can.

Thanks Marion for your reply to my message looking for people to visit while in Vancouver. I am at the opposite end of the province from you - 30th miles south of Windsor. Windsor being right across the river from Detroit. The Americans have a problem understanding that you can live 30 miles south of Detroit and still be in Canada. We are called "The Banana Belt" - don't get too much snow and is very hot and humid here in the summer. I am retiring in "10 days"! Can't wait. I have my fingers into a lot of crafts - knitting, crocheting, pen and ink, oils, etc. etc. but had a quick lesson on bear making a couple of summers ago from my cousin visiting from Scotland. I had 2 short lessons before she left but I was hooked. I've only made bears for family members - who couldn't refuse - but have had people tell me I should be selling them. Maybe once retired I'll have some time to persue that a little more. I desperately need some lessons and there is never anything in the way of classes down here - anything West of London and we don't exist - it seems. I love the sculpted faces but have only tried a little bit at the bridge of the nose. I feel like a new sponge just eager to soak up as much as I can. So not planning on being bored during retirement.
I love Teddy Talk and can't get over the beautiful array of bears everyone makes. Maybe talk again soon.

I am a new teddy bear maker and very eager learn more. I am visiting Vancouver in June and have lots of free time while my husband is attending meetings. Is there anyone in Vancouver I could visit with and chat about bears? I will also be in Summerland for three days. I just love this website and can spend hours just drooling over the beautiful bears. Thanks.

As a new teddy bear maker I look with envy at all the photos of the beautiful bears that are being made. Where can I learn more and more and more!!! I love the needle felting noses and what a difference the sculpting makes but there are never classes offered anywhere near I live. Can anyone offer some advise to a sponge wanting to absorb as much information as possible?
I'm from a little town near Windsor, Ontario Canada. Love to hear from someone out there. Thanks beary much!

Hi: I am a newby bear maker and would really love to learn sculpting but there never seem to be any classes held where I live - Windsor, Ontario - the most southwestern part of Ontario. Where would I go about learning more about bear making and sculpting? Love this website and seeing all the fabulous bears that very talented people make.
