Our Online contest "Gläserner Teddybär" has been taking place since 2006 every year. As in the previous years we would like to invite teddy artists and hobbyists from all over the world to this year's contest.

this year our international teddy artist competition is going to take place for the sixth time. Last year we had participants from about ten countries and we'd be really happy if we receive many entries from English speaking countries this year, too.  Registration deadline is: April, 2nd 2011.

I'd like to add the information that there was a mistake on the teddybear-news.info competition page regarding the fee until now. The correct fees are 8 Euros for 1 category and 13 Euros for 2 categories.

Hello,

this year it will be the first time that our yearly bearmaking competition "Gläserner Teddybär" (since 2006) will be open for participants from English-speaking countries. On our website www.teddybear-news.info you can read all competition details in English.

Closing date for the pictures is: 31st March.

We need 4 pictures for each animal / teddy bear (front and rear view, left and right).
The real animals / bears generally don't have to be send anywhere.

The voting will take place in German and English on our online magazines www.KuscheltierNews.info and www.teddybear-news.info. Additionally an international jury will mark the bears indepentendly.
The winner of each category will receive a trophy, made of glass, and a certificate. The artists that will be placed second and third will receive a certificate and a small surprise.

You can take part in the categories Advanced (teddy bears only) and Miniatures (teddy bears and other animals).

It would be great to have many English-speaking participant this year.

I'd like to tell you that there are new articles available in our English language onlinemagazine

For example have a look at the portrait of Melissa Zemeski (Attic Heirloom Treasures, USA).

We started the magazine only in April 2008 and because of our bearmaker competition (which ended last weekend) we didn't have the time yet to get more stuff translated. At the moment there are only 3 to 4 new articles each month, but we're working on it.

Our German magazine started three years ago and the content has become very comprehensive so far.

Hi everybody,

today I'd like to introduce you to Merci, the small rabbit which was made for this year's Mother's Day.
I've been making bears since 1999 - and this rabbit was the first time I didn't make a bear.

Merci stands about 7" inches tall and she's made from black and white alpaca. Her ears and arms are wired so that they can be posed in many ways. She's fully jointed, her nose is made from felt. Her eyes have been given white accents otherwise it would hardly be possible to see them. Her apron is also completely handmade.

The pattern for the rabbit and for the apron are from German Teddybear artist Hildegard Leber (Teddies and Friends).
