Be good to yourself!
I'm back on here tonight after a few months of absence. Take care of yourself!

Shamus.jpgHere is his little blub I neglected to ship with him :(

I loved the swap! I hope Jane likes him as much and I love Paddy :)

"Hi Jane,
I am pleased to introduce you to Shamus. He has had an awful long trip and really would enjoy a pint of Guinness. He might seem like a bit of a grouchy old man (just look at those eyebrows!), but he really is a sweet  bear on the inside. Shamus just needs a little time to come out of his shell. You might have noticed that although he is Irish, he isn't green. It's a genetic condition that runs in his family. The yellow and blue pigmentation didn't combine to be the usual Irish green. It doesn't bother Shamus though, he loves to stand out!"

DSC03399.jpgI LOVEEEEEEE my bear!

I haven't been online much (I get sidetracked by the internet and get NOTHING in my life done) so I apologise for not posting a public decree bear_original Jane knows how much I love my girl bear_original I have to admit, she must be put on a high shelf because my cat has also fallen inlove with her...or should I say, her fluffy hair clip  bear_grin

Matthea

Haha! I saw that Saturday Night Live!

solobar-caramel.jpgGreen and Blacks! It's organic, fairtrade and simply heavenly! My favorite is the one with the caramel filling. We got spoiled with their chocolate and now only use their cocoa for home baking too. MmmmmMMmm

http://www.greenandblacks.com/

and this Blue Toblerone (only found in Switzerland and European dutyfree airport shops) is a close second...
Anyone Swiss on these boards?? I will do nearly anything to get my hands on these!

I keep editing because I'm such a chocoholic!!
I too love Godiva! My favs are the milk chocolate raspberry-buttercream crowns, followed by the dark chocolate raspberry starfish.

Matthea

Hmmm, sounds a little fishy.
You did the right thing! He should retract it, as t is no fault of yours that a bid was made. You are only allowed to retract under very strict circumstances. I believe having an account hijacked is one of those citcumstances. As a bidder retracting a bid, it will show up under your feedback so others can see you have retracted. I think you are only allowed to retract a small number of times in a year.
As a seller retracting a bid, it does not affect or show in your feedback. No one can tell unless they look at the exact auction and check the bid history.
I have cancelled bids in the past on people with a negitive feedback that bid, but didn't contact me first (I have requirements I list in my auctions).
Don't worry, I think you did the right thing.

images-1.jpgMy favorite is the Aye-Aye from Madagascar. Like most things on Madagascar, they are endangered  bear_sad
They are crazy looking little guys. They have very long middle fingers they use to tap on tree bark to see if there are bugs inside to eat.

Ps - Funny you should mention naked mole-rats, that's what I call my husband's ex who stalks me. It might not be mature, but I'm not always mature.

Matthea

I did it! Do it, hair always grows back. I had pretty long hair, then I shaved it into a mohawk. I'm planning on doing it again once I finally grow my hair out again.

Matthea

Sounds like I'd get along with your daughter too Eileen!
I have a bunch of tattoos (i'll be getting my whole arm done soon), a belly button and tongue rings. I've had hair all colours, and no hair at all. A mohawk for my wedding. But I'm really normal! I like to bake and sew. I'm not a partier. I'd rather make cookies, then eat those cookies. bear_original

Matthea

You'll get used to it! I've done a great many things to myself that changed my look. For me, by day three, I feel like the person in the reflection is me again. I just got a tattoo yesterday (by a good artist, but they did a bad job) and now I'm freaking out! I'll get used to it, and in a few weeks I'll go to the best guy in town (twice the cost) and get it fixed.

note to self: when doing something permanent, always get the best regardless of cost

Matthea

I was offline for months and didn't even know about Bearwitched. I'm so sorry you're upset! Thank you so much for working to improve the bear industry.
Don't worry about those that said mean things about Bearwitched...to me it sounds like they were just Bear*itched  bear_laugh  sorry, couldn't help myself

Matthea

I'll have to call her and get it, but my grandma makes this great chocolate sauce which was always a good 'broken heart' remedy when I was a teen

We have two wonderful accountants. One for business, one for personal and do they ever earn their money. We'd pay them much more just so we don't have to touch it.
This year there were some problems with the business taxes because we started payroll (what a pain in the butt that is!) and neither Mat or myself has a gift for simple math.  The accountants can figure out where we went wrong calculating.

Matthea

I love the idea, but I'm in Canada  bear_sad

Tons of makeup at 3D computer rendering can do wonders!
I'm a big trek fan too. I'm a geek, I'm watching it right now on Spike Tv
I probably wont be getting an gigs anytime soon. I'm type-cast now as the bald chick, or the girl with the mohawk. (long story...I would do it, but my husbands ex-girlfriend from high school who is somewhat a stalker copies all my hair cuts and just grew a mohawk after shaving her head so I don't want to do anything that might give her an idea that I'm copying her. By the way Mat and I have been together 7 years! Go away nut-case!)

Matthea

Photo-158.jpgPenny that's hilarious! Is eating a bag of Cadbury cream eggs for breakfast a step to becoming a member of the UOBS? That's what I ate for breakfast honestly, and I LOVED every bite! I wish they sold those eggs year 'round.  bear_wub

I noninate myself for 'most misshapen paw pads' and 'non-proportional limbs to body'

Matthea

Maybe  we could have odd catagories too perhaps...
Best face expression, silliest, most creative...
Just an idea

The new macs are amazing! So much fun. And they run programs like a dream

Matthea

filters.jpgHaha Shelli, I know what you mean. I read so much here, and on different sites, I mix things up all the time. I jumble things together sometimes!

That's me the shoot. I've done model work here and there. I don't go out looking for it, but my husband Mat own a company that does broadcast design and print work. When people come in for meetings sometimes they see pictures of me and ask if they can get 'that girl' for upcoming projects. It's fun, but I won't shave my head again. At least not for a little while.
The business does graphic design, animation, and concept work. I consult for them and art direct. AKA bossing Mat around and telling him to change things. I don't have much in the way hard computer skills. After Effects and all those programs are way over my head, but then again, I've never tried them out so I shouldn't complain.

Mostly, I'm a 'domestic'.  bear_grin  That's what I like calling housewives.

My little avatar is just one of the bears I held up to my isight camera on my mac. Nothing was done to it at all. There are all these filters that auto change things. MAC isight rocks! Here is me right now in some different filters: xray, glow, pop art, pencil crayon, comic, thermal (the one with red teeth - [INVALID]  bear_rolleyes  )

Matthea

I did this spot last year for a Canadian Channel called the Space Channel (all sci-fi, all the time). I did have to shave my head, which was soooo comfortable. But I did wear a hat for months.
It recently won gold at the BDA media awards. I didn't have anything to do with that at all! That's for all the 3D animators!

click on the Movies from Space box, and that's me :)

Kelly - You are totally right. Many, many companies hold Disney copywrites. What those companies can do with them is very limited and strictly enforced. Say you pay to get a copywrite to make a disney shirt. You have to get the image(s) approved and the product approved by Disney. Any deviation by using another image (even slightly different) or another product is breaking the rules.

My husband had to send them all the working files on the project and promise they wouldn't be kept.

Matthea

Disney is extreamly strict with their copywrites! The patterns I believe are for personal use only, not to be sold.
Actually, my husband is working on a Disney project right now, and he is not allowed to put anything done for them on his reel/portfolio. Costumes were made for this project, and Disney had them as well as all the materials used in the making picked up by courier because they own ANYTHING involved in any project that has to do with Disney. They do get a lot of freelance people to do work but you'll never find it in anyones portfolio.
If you are an employee of theirs they own all your ideas. If you come up with anything while working for them, Disney owns the rights to it. Sure they give you a cut, but they own it. I know some folks that work for them and they say they just keep their ideas in the back of their heads until the day they no longer work for the mouse. If they were to think up a character, and draw it out now, then in years to come with they no longer work for Disney use it to make a comic or something and Disney can prove the initial ideas came to be when the worker was under them, Disney would sue to get the money they are owed. Sorry I know thats all off topic, but it's all Disney stuff.
I love Disney! I got married in Disney World. But would I ever work for them? Not unless Walt came back from the grave.

Matthea

Thats fantastic! Congrats!
