Hi everyone, I'm logging in after far too long neglecting this forum. I love the chat and friendly atmosphere here. I love to make miniature bears but seem to struggle with too many other things getting in the way. I'm off now to read some of the posts as there's so much to catch up on. Hugs, Mandy
Thanks Susan and Shantell for your help. Very much appreciated!

Hi there
Can anyone out there tell me where I can get long pile upholstery velvet from. I have started making weenie ones (about 2") from upholstery velvet and although they are ok I'm not able to get the look that I want cos the pile isn't long enough. All I can find is short or medium. I know it exists because there are some truly talented artists out there creating some absolutely gorgeous tiny tinies and they all talk about vintage / long pile. I hope you gals can help.
 :(
Blessings Mandy
Thank you Karen and Amanda for your advice. I will certainly give it lots of thought. I agree that quality rather than quantity is what's needed. Thanks again.
Beary best wishes.
I need some advice and know you're just the Gals for the job!
As bear sales have been slow via the shops recently I took the plunge and booked a stand at the British Bear Fair in Hove in December. The thing is I havn't done a fair before so don't know how many bears I will need to put on a good show. Also, and more worrying I don't as yet have any bears ready to sell! Any advice or comments would be gratefuly received.
Beary best wishes.

I give my scrap pieces to my daughters who make "Snivelies" (their word not mine!). These are little creatures, basically a rectangle of fur with the end folded over and googly eyes stuck on. They like to take them to school and give them to their friends who seem happy to receive them. I also give some scraps to the school for their art work.
Wooooooo Judi you've just freaked me out and sent a shiver down my spine! I expect the scrabble message was both haunting and comforting both at the same time!! Spooky! Seriously though what a terrible tragedy for your family. I'm so sorry. It really makes you think doesn't it. Hugs Mandy
Good luck with your op Jane. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end to be free of pain. Try not to worry too much about the bugs thing. I'm sure the press make a mountain out of a molehill and the hospitals are very much more aware of the issue now. My hubby had an op just a couple of weeks ago and everyone who entered the ward had to wash their hands first and use a special bug busting gel too. Try to keep positive and tune into all the good vibes these lovely girls are sending you! Hugs Mandy
