The bear is amazing! I'm sure the new owner will love it! How could he not?
I'm glad he turned up. I can't stand the thought of a poor bear lost in the postal system.
Merry Christmas everyone. My Christmas has already been appropriately bear filled. I just spent some Christmas money on some new bears. One Ty attic Treasure, one bear from the Bearington collection and one bear I just kind of stumbled across at Wal Mart. I was carrying a twenty dollar Fantasy novel at the time when by fate I wandered into a random aisle and came face to face with a big brown bear. The novel was abandoned and the bear adopted. It was a better use of my money overall. I love books, but bears always trump them when money is tight.
He's pretty cool! I especially like his paw pads and the expression on his face.
If the bear in your avatar is any indication I can't see it being the bears themselves. I'm no artist, just a collector, but if I encountered a bear like that and I had the funds I'd snatch him up in a heartbeat. I don't have any advice. I just wanted to tell you how cool I thought your bear was. I wish I had that kind of talent.
Happy Thanksgiving!! Desertmountainbear is right. You gotta overeat on Thanksgiving. I know after dinner I'm going to be miserable, but it'll be so worth it. The turkey's in the oven right now, but I have a lousy sense of smell so I can't smell anything. The Vermont teddy bear sitting by my keyboard however is a different story. His nose is twitching.
That is awesome!
I like him! I love how one side's a different color than the other. I think that looks so neat!
He's amazing! The paws, the nose, the feet! I love everything about him! I also love his facial expression. He looks so kind and friendly.
Great bears! I especially love the first one. The one with the Christmas tree and the red scarf. He reminds me of Winnie the Pooh.
How could you not love that bear? It would be impossible not to. And like others here I would much rather have a bear than a watch.
I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a Vermont Teddy Bear for Christmas, so I won't be totally bearless this month. I've gotten bears the past three Christmases. It's kind of a tradition now.
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm gonna eat till I'm sick!
As a collector I'd buy a sad looking bear. I'd figure that when I'm suffering with bouts of depression the bear and I could be sad together. Support each other. That sort of thing.
I like em' happy and sad. All sorts of expressions are fine by me.
I wish I could Us Bears. But with Christmas coming up, the monthly Bear fund has to go to buy Christmas gifts for the family. I won't have any bear money till January.
Cool Bear! I'm pretty sure my bears own me as well. They take care of me rather than the other way around.
I love the name! I also love the bear and the cubs. Chompzworth looks like a wise old bear. Those cubs are in good paws.
Wow! I wasn't aware you could get a Steiff for under $100. I'm definately going to have to look into that. Sooner or later I'm going to have to check into getting an artist bear or two as well. I've seen some nice ones in the short time I've been here.
And Gemma, that is an awesome collection of bears.
Is there anyone here who collects manufactured bears as well as artist bears? Manufactured bears are about my only option at this point. I can't afford most artist bears.
What kinds do you like? Me I'll go for any bear as long as it doesn't have certain fur types. There are certain textures that make me feel ill if I touch them and this includes the feathery type fur you find on a lot of manufactured bears these days. I avoid them like the plague.
My collection is mostly Ty since there are several stores in my vicinity that stocks Ty merchandise. I have a vintage Care Bear and AG Bear from the 80s A couple newer Care Bears, Four Vermont bears. a Harley Davidson Bear, two Poohs and a black bear I made at the Build a Bear workshop named Darkpaw. The rest are Ty.
I'm always looking to add to the group. I don't really care about the brand so long as I like the fur texture. I'd love a Steiff someday, but it's unlikely I'll ever be able to afford one. I'm also hunting for a place within driving distance that stocks Boyd's. No luck so far.
That is NOT just a bear. Not in any way shape or form. That is a work of art. He's beautiful. I love his face, his soulful eyes and his great big nose. That's talent there.
