I did try to post a picture and I have not been able to do it correctly but, never fear, I will get to it! ?

Hi and welcome to Teddy Talk
Well said Becky. I remember the first bear I made ( not from my pattern ) the disc was small and oh boy! The right size of a disc for sure makes a difference.
Have a great Blessed day.
Gladys
This is my second "aged" bear I made for a friend. The first was done not in a proper Mohair ( I was not sure if I would like it ) this I think it is.

Thanks! It was my first and I use a fabric that I had handy but, for my next one I am going to get a more suitable fabric and I think I will make the body a bit wider.

Hi Michelle
Thank you so much! I made one and I did use some of the things she recommended. It is my first one and I can not wait to start another , in the right way! This is a picture of "Teddyey's " paw, with some straw coming out of him. I am trying to post a picture of him but, I do not know why it does not work I am going to see if it needs reducing and I will post it.
Thanks again for taking the time to give me so much good information
Bear hugs.
Gladys
Hi you all
I have a question for you bear designers. I want to make a bear that looks, not only well loved but, like if have been in the attic for a long, long time, not in a shoe box but, on a "dusty " shelve. What do you used to make the fur look a bit "dirty" and stained ?
Thanks
Gladys
Hi Adrea
Yes it comes in diferent sizes and it is wonderful to work with for sure!! I love that is so easy on your hands. I always make a little lop at the end and sometime even , if the bear is not too small , put a bit os tape. That way is not danger os braking the fabric and come out! Not good! I do design and make dolls, Gollies and I used it for them too. They look so cute holding things in their hands ( or paws ) I hope soon we will see a picture of your bear Nicky. Do not forget to post a picture.
Have a wonderful weekend you all.
Bear hugs and Golly smiles.

Hi Nicky
What is very good to do that job is call Aluminum Wire. It is strong but very flexible, easy to work with I used it on my dolls and bigger bears.
Hope it helps.
Gladys
Hi Lynn
It is amazing how there is always somebody that mention something, that for some reason, you did not think off! I never had trouble with the wire getting out of the trunk but, it is possible I guess, if you handle the trunk a lot . The idea of securing the wire in the trunk front is perfect! It will be easy to do , just like you said, a couple of stichs to the front of the trunk, going through the wire loop. It will even help making more visible the nostril !
Thanks for your suggestion Lynn.
Bear hugs.
Gladys
Hi Shanna .
I make a loop with the wire and that loop goes to the front of the trunk and take the two ends like to the center of the head and surround it by the stuffing but I am sure other designers do it in other ways too, probably more "technical" than me I guess , on bigger ones ( mines are on the smaller side ), you can take it all the way to the head joint and secure it in there.
Hope it helps.
Want to see it when you are done . Love your Avatar little one!
Bear hugs.
Gladys

Thanks Becky
I just used half of a bear patterns to make it come true! My daughter was the one who did choose the colors to match my grandbaby's room. The background for the bears was the same fabric we used for her bed cover and the tags to hang it were lavender, one of the bedroom colors too.
Bear hugs .
Gladys

Hi
The Iron -On paper is good but, the fabric you can print in the computer is easier. After printing I just cut and then to avoid any possible fraying, I use any water base sealer, watered down, in the entire back of the labels and ..done!
Hope it helps.
Bear hugs and Golly smiles .
