What wonderful photos. Can anyone tell me who made the bear in the flying jacket in the third batch of photos and if he is available to buy?
We had a little chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit and he told me his name was Tom.
Thank you Peter and Melanie for guiding me on this
Have you seen there is a Charlie Bear Diesel on Ebay at the moment with a Buy It Now price of £350? I wonder if they'll get it!
I was very tempted by Arthur myself Peter, he is utterly gorgeous and such lovely photos of the boys together.
I've cracked it, here is my gorgeous new bear! Can anyone think of a suitable name for him? I'm hopeless on names! He's the 1925 Steiff Replica (50cms), a really traditional looking bear. He looks slightly pink in the photos but infact he's an off white colour with airbrushing on his pads. Such a sweet fellow and he growls!
Is there a way of making photos smaller?
Got this lovely chap when on holiday in Cornwall. He's really sweet. He's a Steiff 1925 Replica and measures 50cms. I am so pleased with him, he has such a wonderful face. I can't think what to call him, any ideas anybody?
(Had to work out how to attach pics, so his photos are in my post further down!)
Being new to this game, can anyone tell me if there are such things as bear collectors get togethers or bear shows/competitions/parties? I would love to meet some fellow collectors, I live in Dorset so would be looking for events in the west country. Any info much appreciated!
What a wonderful old bear Valerie, juist wish I had the money to buy him
Thanks everyone, I will check these out
Does anyone know if Steiff have a Forum?
Saw the new Steiff Ferdinand bear today, he is incredible! Huge, handsome and ultra huggable, definitely next on my shopping list!
Does anybody have him? He is jolly expensive though, going to have to be Layaway!
Hi Becky,
Thanks so much for posting me the link, I will definitely take Thomas's advice when I buy my next bear! I do love your bears he has in his hug, they're gorgeous
Thank you Denise and Becky for your advice, I am afraid I am rather new to the bear world so don't know very much about their value and which ones are reproductions etc.
I will take your advice on this one and spend my money a little more wisely elsewhere!
Gully
Sorry Becky, I am not sure how you post a link but if you copy these headings into Ebay you will find them.
MERRYTHOUGHT ALPHA FARNELL BEAR WITH 1925 SOVEREIGN
MERRYTHOUGHT ALPHA FARNELL XAB26BG WINSTON BEAR
Very many thanks,
Gully
Can anyone tell me about the two MERRYTHOUGHT ALPHA FARNELL BEARS on Ebay at the moment? One has a 1925 SOVEREIGN round its neck and the other one is called Winston. Are they priced about right and are they a good investment? Any advice on these two would be much appreciated.
He really is gorgeous!! Thank you for posting the piccies
Peter, you're amazing, thank you so much for that, I will get on to them right away
Would anyone be interested in swapping their Charlie Bear 'Diesel' for my little Steiff Artist's Bear (Limited Edition) who is in as new condition with box, certificate etc.?
Thanks Peter, they are so expensive though and will probably go for over £100
Thank you Marianne, have had a look but no Diesels available or expected. He is obviously very popular!
Does anyone have a Diesel they would like to sell or know of any shops where I might buy him. He seems to be sold out everywhere!
Does anyone have the Charlie Bear Diesel? If so, any chance you could post some piccies of him as thinking of getting him next
Thanks for explaining that Ariane. I was getting a little bit confused as I have a 27cms Steiff known as 'The Artist's Bear' I bought off QVC a few years ago. He is very sweet, like a mini PB55.
William 1V is very lovely Peter, quite similar to Kenny actually. How many bears do you have in your collection?
Also, please could you tell me what an artist bear is? (Excuse my ignorance!)
