Sue,
yikes! now that is expensive,
however I think you could do what you described, anime? tall willowy in cloth by using a stretch fabric and designing it yourselves.....kind of like designing a bear....really, just exaggerate the limbs and head....once you have a pattern you two could take off from there.
how to start? how did you start bears? dolls are about the same-cleaner faces perhaps, not too many fuzzy nosed dolls, but a body a head and four appendages.....
Sassy's has great doll fabrics and colors
given how wonderful your bears are, I've no doubt that a doll you two designed would be wonderful as well.....
I think I will go look at the ones you mentioned, it sounds interesting.
Hi,
are you talking soft sculpture or porcelain?
I'd be happy to help if I can.
soft sculture is probably easier, you will need different sized round hard rubber or wood balls,
in porcelain the mold should include the balls
What help do you need?
hugs

BRAVO FOR ANNALISE! What a brave young lady you have there-keeping her head about her and crossing the street and calling you. smart cookie!
And good for you, MOM, watching out for her from now on....
Sometimes, for beautiful 14 year old young ladies, the world is a very scary place.
love the photo but can't figure out the streaming things on the curtain? Am I being too totally wonky this day?
hmmmmm
love vintage photos, and have started collecting golly ones.
oddly mostly from GB.....
dilu
Judi,
as one who was told not to speak English on the first day of school, and was almost forced to walk him to school in a dirndle, until I made him look out the window at other moms.....and as one whose wayyyyy too young smartypants left home the day he graduated: i also didn't know quite what do
here's what I did:
learn something new- I threw myself into heirloom quality miniatures making 1"to12" scale
devote yourself several hours a day to something fun just for you, something you thought you might like to do but never had the time for because of God,girls, hubs, bears, baby, family, farm.....
It doesn't matter what that new thing is as long as it will engulf your imagination and give you a fresh perspective, it can energize you and that pays off in all facets of life.
join a Bible study.....you'd be surprised what you learn
call all your friends and family, they will be surprised as the persumptive idea is that you are so busy with all of the above, God, girls, hubs, bears, baby, family, farm.....
clean out all the drawers in the house, it will give you a chance to organize.....( I liked this idea so much,( thank you Mariann, that I still do it every other year.....)You don't need to do it all in one day-remember graduating to
my-kids-are-almost-grown-status can be rough, but boy is it great.
hugs

i also did a different cookie recipie every week....still haven't made it all the way through this cookie recipie book from King Arthur
Bear artists are among the most generous artists around, however because of the time involved in making a piece of art it would hardly be appropriate for the purpose you have stated, where as toy bears, made appropriately and safely for children to play with, would be.
one option would be to hold a bear collection, and since these would be non art bears, purchasable at any toy outlet, you could include your whole community and not be constrained by the small number of bear artists.
In our country the US, many fire departments and police departments keep child appropriate bears in their vehicles for those emergencies involving children, and pass out the bears in appropriate situations. in my community the bears are supplied by the citizens who participate in the program.
I think you are in Israel? "ZION" and if your communities do not do this perhaps it is something you can get started? Plus there are so many synagogs here in the states as well as Christian churches who are more than happy to help in the support of projects like this. It wpuld most likely require a rabbi or one of the members of your local temple contacting relatives in other parts of the world to see if they could start a program like this.
I agree that what the children in your region are going through must simply be beyond horrific, and I am so sorry. This isn't the place for politics, but just know so many in our country are praying for the innocents on all sides of political conflict.
Shalom

Helen sent this to me- ITS PRETTY GOOD:
"Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.
Helllooooo? Just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves!
Helllooooo? It's been over a year! I told him. There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up. He never called back. Guess I won that stupid argument. I bet he felt like an idiot."
Shantelli, you are, pure and simply, beautiful! And so is your Taylor....oh we did all think he was a boyfriend, didn't we?
thank you for posting the pictures.
dilu
Oh Jenn,
How perfectly beautiful, like a madanna and child. Beautiful, both of you.
di
Awwww Tami
How perfectly appropriate to have our Cute Animal Ambasador introduce Maggie to the board.
She is adorable.....
hugs
dilu
Sweet Edie,
First you must not sell yourself short or your bears cheap.
however you must also remember the economy world wide is sinking terribly and many who might have bought bears in the past are trying to figure out gas, food, insurance, housing etc.....The economy world wide is very very tenous. and not done sinking.
That doesn't mean you should quit, but you may find you have to get more clever than the next beary smart bear maker.
And don't forget, ever, why you do what you do.
And in bad economic times parents are more likely to buy a teddy than a digital computer game.....so, hard as it is for you to have this happen to you, you know, you really do know that know one can make your bears like you do. And there is always the right new mom for the right bear.....you may have to work a little at finding her.
Hang in there. Don't give up. And don't sales traditionally go down in the summer because of summer and all?
Remember whenever the economy goes south it always ends up turning around again, So be prepared.....It could be this Christmas.... who knows.....certainly not the American financial dimwitted gurus, thats painfully obvious!
 dilu
Way to go Lynette!
If any one can help it would be "the premier techno rock star " and you will learn lots through the process.
I hate that this happened to you, Chrissie, but as ever you are a Lady and for that we are all blessed by your presence on our board.
Hugs
dilu
Were it an option for me I would go for it. The worst case sceanerio? It doesn't help. You are no worse off.
Best casr? You do get relief!
hugs
di
Well Miss D.,
Glad it wasn't any worse. and I'd like to welcome you to the club.
SURELY do hope you are better soon, without too much nailbed pain.
