I found this portly fellow on EBay last week. I thought he was plush from the pictures, because the seller didn't mention anything about mohair, and the bear was priced low, with free shipping. Someone on Facebook told me it was mohair after I bought it. He arrived today, and is indeed mohair! He's so stunning. I'd wanted a really big classic Pooh for years, but could never find one big enough. I thought they just weren't made. I've bought three bears because they reminded me of Classic Pooh. Now I finally have one, and what a doozy!
I got a deal on her, because she’s missing her flag and button. But I don’t care much about that. I can’t wait to snuggle her! She sits 25” tall.
I found one; that’s him on my bed.
I’ve got a thing for large bears.
I can't figure out how to post pics from Ebay, so here's his listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-House- … 7675.l2557
I can't wait to see him in person!
He arrived today and I’m thrilled with him! He’s absolutely beautiful and his fur is soft and thick. Definitely worth it!
I’ve wanted Bruiser for about ten years, ever since I saw a picture of him online. Today I finally bought him. I got the last one from Amazon, for an excellent price. I’m going to put him on my bed, now that I have one big enough.
I'd like to know how soft his fur is. He looks very pet-able and silky in the ebay photos I've seen, but I'd hate to be disappointed. Anybody have first-hand knowledge of this fella? Thanks!
He's a Vermont Teddy Bear Company 3' World's Softest Bear, and was my Christmas bear this year. I figured the name would be appropriate, since I got Peanut for my birthday. He's super soft and snuggly, but he's a bed hog!
I love his paws!
I love these! I was hoping they'd do one this year.
And he has got to be the softest plush animal I've ever felt. Seriously, he's even softer than I hoped he would be! It really IS like snuggling a cloud!
Well, the bear arrived today, and she is indeed curly plush. However, her beautiful beige fur has been discolored all over her body (which didn't show up in the pictures), and she showed up smelling like cigarette smoke. I tried washing her, but she still looks slightly green in patches. And her head is loose. I'll be sending her in to get that fixed, since I can't tighten the safety joint myself, and I'll ask if anything can be done to help her fur. I feel so bad for her! I've named her Thimble. She's my first girl bear.
She's beautiful!
It's another Vermont Teddy Bear Company bear, and I'm inclined to think that it's some kind of special edition, because it's larger than their normal size for jointed bears, and has an embroidered nose. What do you guys think: mohair or curly plush?
I'm so excited, can't wait to snuggle with him! He's a Vermont Teddy Bear cuddle buddy. He used to come in white, but I like the brown better. I'm going to name him Peanut. ;D
He's sold.
Tiere mit Herz "Brum", 29"
Smithsonian teddy, 24":
Bialosky bear, 26"
My favorite is definitely the Bialosky bear: he's so fat and huggable. Reminds me of the drawings of Winnie the Pooh.
Well, question asked, question answered. He's "plump but huggable." About the same length as my "Folkmanis Honey-bear", but fatter and with stumpier legs. Most pleasant. I particularly like his arm construction and his squishiness. Mine isn't as pristine as the picture that I posted, but he's still adorable.
How huge is he, exactly? Plump-but-huggable, or big enough to need his own bed? I'm tempted.
He's taking up an awful lot of room, and I'm trying to downsize in order to eventually move. More pics here: http://s1078.photobucket.com/user/maezl … t=3&page=1 He's a "Carousel by Guy," sits 26-27" tall.
I enjoyed the Walker's Shortbread, too.
If you just darn the edges of a perfectly round hole, I'm pretty sure it will pucker up. I'd suggest some kind of patch, maybe a disguise? A bow or a little accessory - as suited to the position of the hole?
A "disguise" patch is a great idea! Maybe a little red felt heart appliqued over the spot (I'd have to trim the fur around it, to make the patch lie flush, but that's doable). Thanks so much!
