Thanks so much,

I'll do a little investigating. You guys are right those bears are incredible! It’s something to aspire to.

What is the difference between Needle Sculpting and scissor sculpting?

I know how to...and what needle felting is, but these other term elude me.

Thanks,

tigergodinkadv.jpgI just changed my Avatar.

But I'd still like to know how to include a photo in a post.
Do you have to post it to a personal webpage first, then use a link for it to show?
Thanks,
Letha

DUH! I JUST SCROLLED DOWN A BIT AND SEE HOW IT'S DONE. SO I'M GOOD NOW.

Hello All,

I've finished my avatar. Thanks for making this a challange, because I wouldn't have thought  to do it on my own.

PS: How do you get it to show up in a post?

Thanks,
Letha

Judi,
I think your bears, and you workmanship is just stunning. I also needle felt, but have only done small amounts over mohair. I'm afraid somehow of breaking down the mohair backing.
I would love to see a extreme close up of your bears faces. About how thick - at the thickest point - is the felted wool? And how do you achieve such a smooth finish.

On my needle felted animals, I give them a once over with a lightly soapy cloth. It seems to smooth down some wiry hairs.

Thanks,
Letha

Hello All,

Letha of TigerGod InK! here...

I just wanted to say that I really admire Shelli's Bear's eyes. The lids give such a natural expression. I was wondering if there is a "how to" somewhere on this site. Though they are so exquisite, they could be kept as a trade secret. I've needle felted eyes, but never attached lids.

By the way, Shelli, I noticed in one of your post, that you were looking for some kind of adhesive for eye lids.  I haven't tried this at all....but I bought some kind of interfacing glue fabric - I forget what it's called at the moment - but you can get huge sheets of it; and it's used for gluing two fabric pieces together.
It looks like a spider web and you use an iron to make it stick.

I'm going to try it out on some different things.

I would love to know how to do such fabulous eyes for my bear's peepers.

Thanks, Letha

Hello All,

I noticed in a post that someone referred to "the reference library". I was wondering where that could be found. I'm sure it's a treasure trove of great information.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Letha

Hello,
I'm new here. I need info on how to make my eyes on small bears tight. Seem I did the ol' tripple knot then back of the ear then split the thread - pulled the 2 strands through a bit the  tied another knot - but it all comes loose.

Help,
Letha
