Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

It is wednesday 11:12 am here when you posted this, I live in Indiana which is on east coast time, west coast is 4 hours behind that.

It was so funny, everyone who has kids, always says "hey did you know he looked liked a kid on the cartoon Foster's Home?"  Which means that Jackson does look like Mac and it also means kids take over the TV because all us parents know the cartoons so well.     My son LOVES the video game Guitar Hero and I swear that game was a curse put on me by someone, because I have always hated any music with loud screechy electric guitar solo's and then they develop a game with nothing but that and gives me a child that will play that game all day if he could.   :crackup:

Hello all I am sorry for this being so late, due to some sad events in my life and the lack of support from the Susan G people I really lost steam on wanting to do this, but it is such an important part of women's health and so many of us have been touched in some way by breast cancer, I do not want this not to be done. So here is what I purpose:

During the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, those that can register with ebay thru their charity option at the following link do so:

Those that can not register with them, please make a bear and donate the money made, to the Breast Cancer Charity in your local area.

For those that can register and would like to be involved, please follow the chart below:
I used the first letter of the last name, (example:  mine being Moisan I will be listing Oct 14th thru the 21st)
This chart is not made in stone but it should help spread out the bears, if you can't list during the week on the chart and would rather do a different time , that is more than fine.
You can title your auction with "Bear Hugs for Hope" so to help tie all our bears together.
If you do not have time to make a new bear , maybe you have one that is sitting around that you may be willing to part with.

Sept 30th -October 7th  : A, F, K, P, U, Z
October 7th-October 14th :   B, G, L, Q, V
October 14th - October 21st : C, H, M, R, W
October 21st - October 28th : D, I, N, S, X
October28th - November 4th: E, J, O, T, Y

Please call your local paper to tell them what you are doing , they love human interest type stories, the one thing I want mentioned is to remind all women and even men, to get checked.  Who knows, we could maybe save a life with this campaign, I can not imagine something more wonderful.

Has anyone ever told you , you look like someone famous???? or do your kids or husband look like someone famous?????
Well post it here, I think it would be kind of fun to see what we come up with.
Here is mine, my youngest son has been told that he looks like Mac from the kids TV show "Fosters home for imaginary friends"

It's funny my son who is in the commercial , keeps being told he looks like Mac from the cartoon  "Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends"  It's his favorite so he thinks thats pretty cool.  My oldest is the head writter for a comedy show on campus and whenever they need a child, they call on Jackson, and he LOVES it, they are so great with him. The kids connected to the show , I really hope they all have great success, they are just really nice kids.

Thanks everyone, I am going to have my son and his friend look at all the nice compliments on here, it will make them feel really good, they felt down because they didn't get into the finals, but after they saw the ones that were picked, they were very happy that the ones picked were so outstanding, the prize was 57,000 dollars so with that much money, national attention made it a pretty big deal, so all but one was from ad agencies.

Jane I bet you are as proud as can be about your son having his work being shown.  It's funny how when you have kids, you get more proud of their successes than any of our own.

Hey guys I wanted to share this commercial with you all, it is one my son , (who is a T-comm major) and the kid that stayed with us this summer, shot for a heinz contest, they didn't win, but I was so proud of it I wanted to share it with you, the boy in it, is my youngest and the dog is my little Bella, can you tell I am a proud mom????????

Keeping the first buckeye for luck, that is a really great idea. I am such a pack rat I have a full drawer in a hobby cabinet filled with buckeyes from last year and I got the same amount this year, one day when I leave this world, my poor sons will probably open a closet and a ton of buckeyes will come pouring out.   

Does anyone have any great buckeye crafts?

It is so nice to be back, I must say today was a really wonderful day and I guess sometimes it's easy to think about the negatives in life and not realize you have so many amazing wonderful things all around you. 

I was talking to my youngest son and we had talked about how sad that the weekend was over and how could we make Monday more fun, so he said why don't we do something fun every Monday and call it Funday instead. So today being Monday we did just that.

Today we had a low humidity, sunny, almost fall like day. Myself, my youngest who is 11 and two of his friends, went down to the local park near the river and they have an area that looks like an island and there are several Buckeye trees on this area and when my son was little we went down there found the buckeyes and named the area "Buckeye Island" every year when we know the buckeyes are ready, we go there and collect buckeyes, throw a few in the river and plant a few, so to insure Buckeye Islands future  .

Then when we got home we made candy buckeyes, 

Kim Endlich called while I was getting ready to go on our adventure, I told her what I was getting ready to do and I had no idea there was anyone that didn't know what a buckeye was. So we collected some really great ones and we are going to send some to Kim.  I even got some, still in the shell, which are the best, because they are so beautiful when they come out and you never know how they are going to be shaped or colored (dark brown or light brown or a perfect wood grain).

After we got done and came home and sorted all our buckeyes my son looks up at me and thanks me for the really fun day.

I must say I have enjoyed reading up on all the TT happenings!!!!

Thanks guys you are so sweet,  it is amazing how someone can become so sad, it makes them physically ill.  I just didn't want to get on here and wallow in my grief, and man was I wallowing. I kept thinking "snap out of it!" but I would just start crying over the dumbest things. The thing I have missed most is seeing everyones work, I have been going thru all the pictures in the gallery and man all I can say is "Wow!!!!" you all have been turning out some amazing pieces, I hope they have done well on ebay, I don't even know how ebay is doing , my poor dad loves when I list stuff and he keeps asking if I have anything new on ebay and I keep saying no and he looks so sad and worried.

I don't know how those of you, that do this as a full time job,  does it.  I can not work when I am sad, does anyone else feel this way? How does one force themselves to create when they just don't feel that way, what is a good way to motivate yourself? 

I have really enjoyed going back thru some of the topics I missed, some of you guys just really crack me up and it made me realize I really missed it here.

I wanted to thank you guys for writing to me and being so kind, I have had the worst year of my life I have lost 4 people that are very close to me. One was a very dear gentleman that was like a father to me.  Also I have had a woman try to ruin my business on ebay. I guess with all the stress it just wore me down and I got really sick , but I am feeling better and after reading about what happened to Susan I am just really MAD. I had a friend call me last night and tell me what happened to Susan and she had mentioned me in her post. I have not been on the computer much at all and haven't listed in so long or visited TT. 

Also the "Bear Hugs for Hope" campaign has been very frustrating, I am so not pleased with the Susan G people. I am not thrilled to be raising money for them, I am honored to donate to breast cancer awareness but I think they have gotten too big. I talked to a husband of a woman who had breast cancer and he had so many horrible things to say about them. I will post in the Bear Hugs for Hope thread to update everyone. What would everyone think if we just used the Bear Hugs for Hope as a slogan to promote charities that are important to us, lets say that when you want to raise money for Habitat, you regisiter on ebay thru their charity feature and the sub title could be Bear Hugs for Hope. And maybe you want to donate to a childrens charity you could do that.  What do you all think?

I hope everyones auctions are going well, I have missed seeing all of your wonderful creations and I look forward to seeing all the great things you guys make and list on ebay.

Thanks everyone, I really have realized it is only about money and in this life there could be so much worse happening.

I am going to Memphis tenn, for the weekend (where Elvis lived for those out of the US) it is really hot and sticky there, I love that part of the country, but hate the heat, but I am looking forward to the visit, I am going to show my sister in law the thread and the Bear Hugs for Hope campaign we are doing, I haven't yet shared it with her , I wanted to do it in person, she has lost all of her hair and I hope this will cheer her some.  To know that people from all around the world are wanting to fight the disease that is hurting so many women, she will learn what I have learned, that there are some pretty wonderful, giving, talented artists out there!

Update: the guy is no longer a registered user, I am now waiting to see if there is a connection to these other women, if there is, I know this is going to sound really mean  But I hope if they do, ebay will ban them from the site so they can never do this to someone else.

I don't get these people, the other night I went to search the barbie area and in the featured listing area there was a vile nasty triple X picture listed, I checked the guys other auctions and he had 5 up all in the featured area and all in kid friendly areas. I connected ebay thru their live chat and it got pulled instantly and I was so happy, what in the heck is wrong with people!!!!!!!
