I find dense faux fur with knit back is fine to use as is.
If you don't want to work around the stretchiness while cutting you can do one of a few things
1) Use iron on stabiliser - low heat, very careful
2) Spray adhesive and cutaway stabiliser or muslin
3) Dissolve a piece of water soluble stabiliser in a small amount of water and paint it onto the backing then allow to dry
Of all these 3 is the method I use most often as I find it the most reliable, plus it's a great way to use up all those scraps of soluble stabiliser.
Finished my second bear! Starting to get the hang of things I think , I'm pretty pleased with how she turned out :D
She's made from my favourite faux fur which, given her small size, has made her super fluffy and cuddly
Hi Timmeh, I think Nemo is perfect enough for me! Great job and a very nice bear! Pink
Thanks a heap!
This is Nemo, my first finished teddy bear. He is made from wavy cream faux fur and is filled with polyfill and plastic beads. His face has been coloured and shaded with alcohol markers.
He's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy about him for my first attempt.
