BUT, I must ask. Does anyone know how Daphne's Dad is doing? It broke my heart reading her post ... I couldn't even answer because it was too painful a reminder of my Dad. But that's another story.
I'd love to know how he is doing (Daphne's dad, that is)
Is it just wonderful to know that you are missed as soon as you venture out of your front door .... or is it a blessed nuisance?
Thanks for getting in touch and thanks guys.....Brenda, Shantell.... for your help. It was much appreciated.
Hugs,
Sue
I now use my hubby's name of Hodges all the time ..... but I think it's kind of boring. My maiden name was GIORDANO - which I hated when I was a kid because it made me 'different' - but which I grew to be very [color=red][size=12]comfortable with for exactly the same reason.
Before Peggotty (another name I dislike .... but that's a long story) I used to do riding holidays to Portugal (sending folk out to learn classical dressage with a rider from the Portuguease School of Equestrian Art). For that I used my maiden name and was always know in the riding community as Sue Giordano.
But as time went on it became less complicated to use my married name i.e. flight tickets, setting up the business etc. so gradually I have become Sue Hodges and few people know me anymore as Sue Giordano.
That makes me sad ..... especially as my Dad has now passed away.
Funny old thing, life.
LOL

Does anyone know where Shelli is? I've not been on Teddy-Talk for a week or so and I'm out of date but I've tried contacting her on her Potbelly bears email address and ..... no response!!
Help, shelli .... are you out there?
Hugs, Sue
I'll be there. Stand 42 in Hall 2.
Because I'm on my own it's difficult to get away from the stand but I'm sure we can all meet up. How about we all wear Teddy-Talk T-shirts . then at least we'll have some chance of recognizing one another?
Hugs,
Sue
Shelli,
Thanks a million for all your hard work. Look forward to getting a few
Dear Shelli,
I know that you are not a busy person and that you have lots and lots of time on your hands that you must be just itching to fill
I was thinking that ... along with our new T-Shirt ...... maybe we should have some Teddy-Talk 'flyers' to keep on our stands and hand out at shows like ...Hugglets?????
Now, you already know that I'm a plonker. And it may well be that these flyers are already in existence. In which case, just point me in the right direction and I'll take loads to London.
Lots of love,
Sue
Oh, Jane.
I'm so terribly, terribly sorry. You are your family will be in my prayers ....... they do work you know.
Let us know how things are going, won't you. Sometimes it helps to know others are there for you.
Lots of Love,
Sue
Oh Geez, I've tried to respond a couple of times but each time I've had to open another window and have lost my reply. Oh, to be a techie
Lynette, Jane. What are your stand numbers? Mine is stand 42, Hall 2 - we've been there since Kingdom Come but I know people do get moved about. Let us know - or better still, let's where the Teddy-Talk t-shirt and then maybe we will have instant recognition!!!!
Aleta. Welcome back, I hope you are coping at home and that your Angel is finding his/her feet in Heaven. I asked my Dad to look after this person for you.
Paula is absolutely correct inasmuch as you have to submit photos to Glen and Irene, the organizers. They are lovely, lovely people .... always on the lookout for worthy artists. I'm going to be speaking to them this week so I'll ask them to look at your website ......not that I have any influence whatsoever, you understand  PS February is, I think, the busier of the two shows
Paula, it will be good to see you after learning so much about you on T-T. The problem is, I always mix you up with you sis, so unless you are both together (which you aren't!) I'll probably make a right banana of myself. Couple of really good books for you to read..........'Phantom' by Susan Kay, Man and Boy by ...oops, I've forgotten and early Susan Howatch books ... The Rich are Different, Sins of the Father, Wheel of Fortune etc. etc. Don't go much on her religious ones tho'.
And to those not going ... well maybe we who are can cobble together a few words and pictures for Teddytalk. What say you, guys?
Loads and loads of you know what,
Sue
XXXXXXXXXX
Can you post some more photos when he's had a chance to settle in and I'll bet that doggie will be smiling.
LOL,
Sue

The fabulous Hugglets show will be coming up soon .... 3rd September to be exact.
If you are going - either as an exhibitor or as a visitor - do you fancy having a bit of a TT get-together either before or after the show (during can be difficult as it's not easy to leave your stand).
The weather should be good in September and London is amazing no matter what time of the year.
Think about it ...... I will be happy to coordinate if there is any interest.
LOL, Sue
It did just what it is supposed to do. Whetted my appetite to look further at your work and, oh my!
Just fabulous .... well done, both of you.

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate your help.
I looked at Shelli's web pages and yes, they have tons of useful information that I will incorporate. Di, I haven't done photos outside for ages but you're right and with the sunlight here in Dallas they could work wonderfully well. (it's really good to hear from you by the way!).
Interesting to know about the Adobe products too. At the moment I'm using a very simple HP image editor that came with the usual PC software packages when we bought the machine.
Thanks everyone. Look out for amazing pictures (not!!!)
LOL, Sue
Guys, hi
It's been a few days since I last looked at Teddy-Talk and goodness what a lot of catching up there is. It really is a daily thing isn't it - straight after the school run but before house-work. Love it!!
I've got to tell you that our entire week has been spent updating the website (using our new graphics from Shelli) and I'm pleased with the result .... bearing in mind that it a 'homer' and not a professionally designed site.
BUT ...... my huge disappointment and challenge for the future is the photography on the site. Try as I may I cannot seem to get decent photographs and even if they look OK in thumbnail size they just appear all fuzzy once they have been enlarged. Help... what can I do?
At the moment I use 2 cameras - a Canon Powershot S30 with 3.2 mega pixels and a 10 x zoom, and an older Canon Sure Shot, 35 ml, Zoom XL. I prefer the digital because I can get instant feedback but would be happy to switch if the digital doesn't have enough pixels (you can see I haven't got a clue, can't you).
I have been using a brilliantly sunny room with white walls. I use a white trifold. I set the white background. I've used both manual and auto settings and even macro for the smaller bears but I can't get the clarity I needs. What I want is to get the same sharpness of picture as Frank Webster of Charnwood Bears - you can see his pics on my site.
Can anyone help or suggest recommended reading or just give me some advice. I'm so disappointed with my efforts to date!!!!!
Thanks Guys,
LOL, Sue
I think I do believe in a higher power. I don't know who it is or how it works but there is definately something out there that we mere mortals cannot get our heads around.
I will pray because I've known it to work.
Can you keep us posted about both situations?
Sue
Paula,
Keep your chin up. Buying and selling in the UK is a nightmare - I wish you well with the move and with your new life.
Take care; See you at Hugglets..... Oh! and love to Sis too!
Sue.
And I liked him WITH the whites under his eyes. Actually, I just like him anyway but the whites made him look plaintive and that appealed.
Shari, the one thing I've learned over the years since I've had Peggotty is that there is a right person for every bear ever made. You've just gotta get them together .... the bear and the person .....that's the hard part!
Your little guy is just delicious. Keep at it.
Hugs,
Sue
Hi Edie,
Helena picked a good site for you. The boys at Bourton bears - Andy and Mel - are just delightful and will go out of their way to help you to identify your bear. Send them a quick email, tell them about this site as I'm sure they will join up.
If you do get in contact with them would you say 'Hi' from me and tell them that I miss them loads (and all the other regulars on the UK scene...... but I don't miss the English weather!
LOL,
Sue
WOW, Shelli
Boy, do I just LOVE the bear (tee-hee!)
Sue
Thanks Brenda, thanks Eileen,
The bear is a Portobello Bear by Amy Goodrich. His name is Wordsworth's Dream and he is one of the many Portobello bears that will be appearing on the website..... if I can bear to part with him that is!
If you enjoy Amy's work the current website (which is sadly out of date) is showing a gallery of her characters that we have had in over the past year or so.
Shelli is not only gifted, she is very knowledgeable - full of hints and ideas - and, I have to say, is the most patient person in the world. Oh, and she has a great sense of humour. Right. That's it. Soapbox put away and it's up to you all to find out for yourselves.
LOL,
Sue
Hey Everyone,
Look what that amazing Shelli has done for me ... using just a washing-up bottle and some sticky back plastic!! Sorry Guys, that will mean nothing to you unless you grew up watching Blue Peter on the telly. But listen, for those of you who don't know.... this girl is seriously, seriously GOOD

Ignore the website for the moment. The new one was due to go live this weekend but my designer - AKA my hubby - has been ill so we will go live next week. (Still some lovely bears to drool over on the outa-date site if you want.... tee-hee).
Thanks Shelli
Hugs, Sue
