This is my first teddy bear using mohair. I found that cutting mohair can really be very tricky. There were a few things that I wasn't very happy about creating this bear. I love the mohair. However some of the techniques I experienced weren't very pleasant. I wanted to create a larger bear because I thought it would be easier to work with. However, I only purchased a quarter of mohair and whew is it expensive. So that left me with creating a small bear. Originally I purchased some ultrasuede from a person on Ebay and I think it was a knock off. It looked slightly like suede but felt like rubber and I couldn't hardly get my sewing needle through it. I gave up on it and threw it in the trash. I wound up using plush felt for the foot pads and paws. I ordered black glass eyes and they were too big for my bear. I was impatient and wanted to sew her up.The nose was difficult to sew and I repeatedly tried to get it positioned right and sewn on. I realized I needed more layers of floss and tried to get it even.  I jumped the gun and created her without eyes first. Then I needed to put the eyes in with a indentation for them. I tried to get  indentations made and it was difficult, then glued the eyes in (wrong). I struggled with getting the shading around the eyes even, Finally, I listed her on my Ebay and Etsy sites. I've been creating Primitive and Folk Art dolls for the past few few years and need a change. This is a different experience for me. I love the creative aspect of creating the teddy bears and the challenges with it. Hopefully, I'll get better as I go along. I think they are so adorable and have so many personalities. bear_smile
