So cute!
She's so pretty, I love her!
She's gorgeous
Meet Beertje, a vintage inspired bear. After a couple of weeks of no bear making or crafting whatsoever, but trying to fix my website without evicting my computer via the nearest window, Beertje was born last night. I've only just finished the last touches. She's now ready for adoption here
She's adorable! Your other two are also very cute but this one is my favourite
I think he's good. I can't give advice on fabric bear making as it's not something I really do, but he looks good to me! I too, don't have a preferred style. Well, I do. If I'm buying a bear I'll always opt for something traditional. I'm just drawn to the old style and feel of a firmly stuffed, threadbare kind of bear. But when it comes to making bears, I like the freedom of doing something completely different. There's no right or wrong in my opinion. For me, I want to enjoy what I'm doing, not feel that I have to stick to a certain style. I would really say follow your heart on that one.
Aw, he is absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure his new owners will be delighted
I don't know anything about Hugglets, other than it's huge! My only pearls of wisdom would be to advise you drop your husband off at any nearby pub first. Not only will he be unaware of what you're buying, but maybe even oblivious or happy about it afterwards! I would probably also wear some ridiculous heels too - as then there is also a reason to find a shoe shop (that can never be bad!) Bears and shoe shopping in one day...life doesn't get any better!
Sorry, not helpful. I'm jealous, I sooo wanted to go to that! We can't afford it at the moment. A trip to England is never cheap for us, as I have to stock up on everything I miss from 'home'. I would really think the sensible shoes and getting there early are a must. Most importantly though, enjoy!
What a beautiful colour!
He looks so real! He's beautiful
Beautiful!
Very cute! I love the little paws!
Adorable!
So cute! I'm not the best with choosing names. I tend to look at the colour and see if I can come up with something (not very imaginative with names!). Failing that I'll search the net for teddy name generators for inspiration - and then choose something entirely different anyway!
She's beautiful! My favourite colour too
Aw, that's so cute! I think I'm going to end up with a zoo soon...!
Stop it! I want a kitten now! They're soooo cute
I'm a complete novice when it comes to fabric bear making. I needle felt, knit and crochet. Even knitting and crochet, I'm hopeless at creating my own patterns, I can only do that with small accessories, not the entire bear (so I don't sell crocheted/knitted bears for that reason), but your denim bear is more than sell-able in my opinion. From the pics you showed on here, he looked very well made, so your 'inexperience' really doesn't show. The end result is what matters, and you can clearly make a bear that looks like an experienced maker has created it! I'm not just saying that, I would genuinely buy him. I'm out of funds myself at the moment, but I genuinely would. I don't normally go out with the intention of buying a new teddy, I tend to buy on impulse. So a bear has to look good and appeal to me in some way, and be well made, good stitching etc - your bear meets my 'criteria' for impulse buying. Apart from whatever Bearpile/Ebay/Etsy charges, you have nothing to lose in trying.
So cute!
There is nothing goofy about having a bear room! We don't have a room as such dedicated to bears, but they are simply in each room. They have their own corners, shelves or cabinets! I'm lucky in that my fella is also a bit of a collector, so I'm 'allowed' to create bear areas wherever I want. All decor is up to me, with the exception of no pink wallpaper and not too many flowers, but bears are quite acceptable! I can live with that! I love them all EJ, but especially the artist cream bears. They look like a bear family! All different, yet all related distantly
Beautiful!
Somebody is going to be very lucky! He's gorgeous!
Nope, sadly they're not a protected species (not as far as I know). I'd never ever buy one as a pet unless I knew the breeder and they hadn't been imported, as sadly it still goes on. You're right though, they really are very intelligent. Most mimic sounds or even words rather than understand the meaning, but some of the bigger species like African Greys and Macaws can understand. Neither Theo or I are big TV people, but I do need to get my fix of one of my English soaps. Every time I watch Eastenders, my budgie goes crazy. He sings his little heart out to the theme tune! He doesn't actually sing the tune, but it's clear he likes it and recognises it! He 'talks' too. Theo denies that he does and thinks I'm crazy (he might be right there!), but he does say 'pretty boy' in amongst his constant daily chatter. It's not very clear but he definitely says it. He is just mimicking though, but the bigger species really can have an understanding of some words. I bred cockatiels a few years ago. They did used to tease the dog, flicking seed out on him as he walked past. It was so funny to watch, they were little devils. My budgie and dog live quite harmoniously together now though. The budgie always does a little hello or goodbye chirp when anyone enters or leaves the room - he even does it to the dog, but the dog doesn't respond so he gets annoyed!
Oh, now that's just too cute!
He is beautiful! I love parrots. I have a budgie, but have always wanted a big parrot. I'm not so sure my neighbours would share my enthusiasm though!
