Chapters in Oakville, Ontario had it yesterday - hardcover - $7.99! deal of the century!
GO FOR IT! in case you need encouragement! lol
we all wait to long to do what we dream of - you only live once! ...as far as we know!
let's not forget how much we pay in taxes either - to cover dear old Canada Post AND their wonderful services. *gulp* ...nothing is cheap ...or free.
sorry people - i just have to vent.
"stuff" doesn't just float through customs - in any country - an actual customs entry has to be prepared and duties & taxes paid ON YOUR BEHALF. that's why there are brokerage charges. failing that YOU would have to physically go to the border and meet that package (amongst 5 million other parcels!) and clear it through customs yourself. *deep breath*
THANK YOU!
P.S... in NO way am i defending UPS. i'm NO fan of theirs!
buy domestically.... that's the whole idea. if we didn't put up trade barriers (duties and taxes etc.) we'd be lost. not that i like paying taxes anymore than anybody else but... there is a method to their madness.
where's Dilu???!! she's GOTTA do the "ladies dancing"!!!
just LOVERLY Paula!! i absolutely love centre seam heads. there's something so adorable and heart-melting about their look. and her velvet pads are heavenly - so nice to see that "old" look. thanx for sharing Charlotte.
yikes! yer lucky to have gotten those parcels through (sorta!) without a customs broker! there was quite a high value on that set, no? and i'm surprised Canada customs didn't have a cow over the trunk and all the goodies in it.... "that's not a bear" - i can hear them now! it's slow service but consider yourself lucky Aleta.
albeit a bother - let's not forget - these standards/regulations are in place to ensure OUR safety. the sales tax is another issue.... another pain in the keester!! LOL
how VERY sad! thanx for the update.
now, will people think before they shop at Walmart? noooo
*jumping off my soapbox*
please!! tell us foreigners more about Whitby!! OH, congrats on the impending nuptials too!
spaghetti squash with my husband's decadent sauce. he throws everything in - whatever is in the fridge. zuchinni, peppers, onion, shallots, mushrooms, lotsa garlic, leftover sausage, leftover chicken, black olives. (hopefully no milk!)
yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!
we're both very spoiled and both LOVE to cook. nothing pre-made/prepared in our house. cooking for hours = heaven!
thanx for sharing Aleta! wonderful pics! i hope they live VERY happily ever after!

i've been a very good girl of late but i show little restraint when there are bears involved....and i'm sure you all understand that!

sorry for the late reply everyone - i can't always get on here when i want! *foot stomp*
after reading more about this i think i have to stuff my head even harder - then i can sculpt and "pull hard" and indent the wee souls' heads exactly where i want to.
right now if i pull hard the jaw caves in. maybe leaving the opening/bottom open will help redistribute things too.
THANX MUCH for your input/tips/help!
