I've been using them for years. I just find it hard to get a range of sizes.
I would prefer to style myself after arrival (following photos from the maker)
Just search free knitting patterns teddy bear clothing. There are thousands out there!
I think this design is wonderful - you have a lot of talent and I look forward to seeing more of your Belly Button Bears.
I had some made by a US company it was really good value - something like 25 dollars for 50 metres. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the company but I found it by searching the net.
Graph paper is my friend!
Try the pen but do a card with the bear that has the message on it so if the writing does fade over time the recipient will still know what the message was. Although it is highly liklely that the recipient will remember exactly what the message is in time!
Lost my mojo for a long time but picked up a bear this week and finished it and....my mojo is back - so am I. Hello to old friends and new!
I have just added my name to the list. That is one beautiful bear.
I have been away from the forum for a very long time and just found this post. I would love to see what everyone made and I may even make one myself.
Hi All I have been absent for quite a few months now but I am back. Nothing in particular kept me away it's just that life has been extraordinarily busy
I too am guilty but I have been in touch with my swap partner and we both agreed to put it off for a while, stay in touch and do them at a later time. My partner if you need to know is Teacup Bears.
I am so relieved to read this post - i was sure that I was the only one left to finish a bear for my partner so it is with a huge sigh of relief that I continue on my bear making journey for my partner.
I have made mourning or rather memory bears for people out of clothes or fabric that were special to the deceased.
Christine Child from Boot Button Bears sent me a bear last year so I am paying it forward! Besides I am very selfish and love the reaction I get from people who receive unexpected things!!
WoW That was quick!
I sew two sides at once! Thread two needles, start at the 'toe' and alternate stitches (one left side, 1 right side).
I live around 1500 km from Adelaide but a couple of years ago 4 of us got together and met up. It was more like a meeting of old friends. We had a ball.
have you tried using double thread? Makes it stronger and would stop this problem. Just thread the needle and feel for both ends of the thread then tie together.
irfanview is a free programme and makes resizing very easy.
I have had a spurt over the weekend and am getting there. I just want to work on the face now.
Still waiting for that book Peter!
I ahve successfully used KoolAid to dye with. I have used a plastic bowl to mix it in. Some LouBear mohair is mixed with viscose which maybe why the backing didn't take.
Wow! That is some bear. Welcome to the forum.
Looks a little like an Alpha Farnell to me but I am no expert!
