What a cutie pooh! He looks a little sad...
I really like him - well done.
So cute and huggley
My lord!! How clever are you!! Absolutely amazing!!
Does that mean if the pattern does not say to do it that way then I assume that the seam allowance is included? Sorry to ask a dumb question.
I probably read far too many bear books BUT the other day I bought one. It said to trace the pattern on to template plastic and trace on to the fur. When you cut it out you add the seam allowance to the fur which would then allow you to sew right on the line of the tracing. What i used to do was trace and cut on the line and then sew. Have I been doing it wrong all these years???
Pinking shears! You're a genius Daphne - I never thought of that...
You could try Beary Cheap - they sell synthetic dye http://www.bearycheap.com/ezimerchant/prod1294.htm Never used it myself though.
Pretty pink - i love her.
What a lucky girl is date will be - he is precious.
Wow that is unbelieveable, so lifelike. You are so clever
She is just gorgeous, such a lifelike face. Well done.
I love it, it's really cute.
What a lovely thoughtful gift and what a beautiful bear.
He is totally precious! Love him dearly.
Hi, I made this for my mother in law for Christmas - funny how much it is like her! (but don't tell her I said that
)
You may be sorry you said to share with you! I have just bought more kits to make more of Monica's bears!!!
Where should I post the pictures when I have finished them?
Thankyou so much ladies, you have restored my faith I guess I'll just keep it to myself and show you ladies and gents who can really appreciate what goes into creating a very special and wonderful bear. You have all made me feel much much better
Well here is Sven, created by Monica Spicer. The class taught faces:
and here is the finished product
I love Monica's bears and she is the best teacher ever. Sven is a little worried because he is all tangled up in the Christmas lights...... :P
How could you NOT love him???
I am so disappointed. I went to a wonderful bear course at Bear Essence in Victoria on the weekend. Mind you I drove 6 hours to get there so you can be sure I was really looking forward to it. It was a course on faces under the wonderful tutelage of Monica Spicer. I learned so much from Monica and I was so pleased with the bear (which was Monica's pattern Sven). I have achieved what I have wanted to for the last 5 years.
Anyway, I showed it to my husband and to my friends at work, simply bubbling with excitement, and they just looked at me like "well it's just a bear". I felt so let down!!
They just can't see what I see when I look at him and appreciate the amount of work and love that goes into him. I wasn't sure if I could post a picture because it is Monica's design etc, but if it is OK - I will so that maybe some of you like minded people can look at him and see what I see.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the advice.
Hi, I have read with great interest the library articles on air brushing and am considering making a purchase. I am not sure where to go to buy one - I live in country NSW and will have to go online. I have looked at this and am not sure if it would be ok. http://www.hobbytools.com.au/prod190.htm
Basically - can someone please tell me if this will do the job, what other accessories I need. I would be using the copic pens so I guess I need an adaptor or something.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, will try Beary Cheap. We don't have Kool Aid in Australia (at least I've never seen it) But thanks anyway.
I have some long white synthetic that I wanted to dye but not sure if it will take. Has anyone ever tried?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can alter a pattern so that the nose is comes to a point rather than being rounded? I am trying to make a mouse and wasn't sure how to go about it. Thanks.
