Hi Ali
This silly person has put in his description of the item to visit my bear making store and my about me page, how silly is this..its like free advertising for me, but at who's expense? I don't think it is this person in the picture who is doing this, someone has accessed his account I think, poor guy he will get a bill from ebay for two featured plus items, that will be a shock. I phoned ebay again as this listing is still there and he has added another item but for more money and 10 of them someone is going to get stung. Ebays response was that the team who deal with this sort of complaint had gone home at 5 so if it has not been removed by tomorrow lunchtime for me to ring again. I do not understand as my first phone call was this morning when everyone was in work...typical ebay for you.
Well I will have to see what happens tomorrow, fingers crossed no one buys and GHD's from him or any of my patterns.
Did you save a dart for me to throw LOL!!!

Hi Everyone
I am back again, and thought I better put out this post on TT.
I have just seen that someone on ebay has listed one of my patterns (which they have not purchased) as a featured plus item, but taken my listing and photographs, basically saying they are me. It has worried me a little as I only sell my patterns for £5 this person has it at £15. I just want to make it clear it is not me. I have been in contact with eBay and explained, but the listing is still there and has not been removed even though they agree the person has used my listing and making out they are me. This is so upsetting as ebay yet again seem to be a little slap happy with there rules. I only hope people will realise it is not me and not fall prey to this person. Its a bit silly that they have done this for only £15, but to mention that they sell more of my supplies is a bit underhand.
So if you are a person who visits my ebay store please be careful and check the ebay id before pressing the Buy It Now button.
I am so sorry I have had to mention this, but I would not like anyone to be out of pocket.
Big Hugs

Hi Joanne
Thank you ever so much for looking and your great tip, that has answered another of my questions, as I could never understand why I never appeared on the left especially with how much I have in my store sometimes...A big thank you for that.
The fabric I am chasing to see is the animal print for critters, I listed this yesterday 4 lots of it thats the ones playing hide and seek with me, I have even resorted to putting artist bears in the title to see if that makes a difference, but no, but when you look under the two different formats you can see them in one but not the other. Off to bury my head in the sand...doesn't ebay drive you crazy these days, why oh why do they have to mess.
Thanks again Joanne, you have been a big help.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Everyone
I hope you don't mind me popping on and asking a question, if anyone can help me I would be grateful, I think I might have stumbled on a problem on ebay with this opting out thingy!
I have an ebay store and regularly list on ebay.com and .co.uk but today I have noticed items I listed yesterday are not showing at all, only if you do a specific search for them. I know they have altered the store listings to fixed format as buy it now, which I have always done and had no problems..until now. I have seen that everything is now showing from everyones store which is great, but I have just noticed as I am running two computers at the same time one has opted out of the new system and the other is using the new format, well if you opt out you do not see all the listings, but if you do go for the new system you get to see everything, so to cut a long story short my items are appearing on the new format but not the old one. This is so odd as I have all the relevant feedback etc and never had this problem before. What concerns me is some of us have been told by ebay to keep opting out of the new system and ebay will have to take note and do something about it and put it back as it was, well if thats the case and the majority of bear collectors and makers have done this the items that myself and others have paid to list is just a waste of time. I hope someone here can help me because it seems as if this is a no win situation. HELP!!!!!!
I have taken note of all the new listing cirteria title descriptions etc for searches, but what it boils down too is you can see me on one system and not the other. I am now waffling on sorry!!!
Hugs to you all.
Jacqui
Hi Clare
Sorry abou that, yes normally I do featured...I like to confuse everyone but I found when I list mohair it asks me the same question, and have noticed it is now listing on .com too if I pay the bit extra.
I think we need to be rocket scientists these days to keep up with the changes on eBay.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi Clare
You can have your item show on both sites UK and US if you tick the box that states ......International site visibility
eBay US and Canada (£0.15) . I normally list on .com but these last two weeks I have listed on UK and when I do my listing it asks me this question in the section if you want to do BOLD, SUBTITLE, BORDER or FEATURED PLUS, its below all of these in small writing. All my listings have appeared in the US listings. Hope this works for you.
There has been some mention that if your star rating in you dashboard is low, your visabilty will be low...they just like to make it more difficult for us don't they?
Good Luck.

Hi Paula
I do not know if this is any help, but I usually list on .com, but just recently started listing on .co.uk for a change and I have always been asked when listing do I want visability on US and Canada for an extra fee (its not much) so I just check that box, all that happens as I have paid to be featured on .co.uk it only puts me in the general list on .com but thats fine, as that was what used to happen when I was featured on .com.
Perhaps you could go in and revise your listing and check the box, I think its in the section where it mentions bold, gallery featured etc....
Hope this is a little help.
Good Luck
Jacqui
Hi Melissa
You should have public liability insurance if you exhibit at shows for your own protection, most shows I attend ask to see your Insurance. Most shows get there own insurance cover, if anything happens i.e someone trips over a box at your table or gets their foot stuck in your table cover and hurts themselves, this is down to you to have cover, as these days people will claim at the drop of a hat.
I believe if you go with the Market Traders Association they can do good deals on taking Credit Cards, another good company to use for Public Liability is G Imber, London, I use my bank as I have the shop as well, but most Insurance Companies will do some sort of cover that is suitable to your needs.
To be on the safe side and to cover yourself check with the organiser of the show first to see if they have cover and it will cover you too.
Hope this is a little help, and very good luck with your show.

Not to frighten anyone but weights and measures also attend some shows that have been heavily advertised, make certain all items are clearly priced and especially collectors bears state on the label that they are not suitable for young children. I have been at shows where they have attended and asked people to remove bears and clearly mark them up, its not a common occurance but best to be on the safe side.
Hi Jenny
I will put the kettle on and get the biscuits out! No not Thursday, Leek is like a ghost town that dayLOL

p.s your bear on ebay is just stunning!
Hi Peggy
My teddy bear making shop is in Staffordshire, which is very near to Wales, as I have a lot of bear makers who visit me from both North and South Wales. We currently stock over 150 varieties of mohair, a little bear makers dream. The only thing is Leek is shut on a Thursday.
Wishing you a safe and fun trip in Europe.

Hi Melisa
I have had the same thing happen to me this week, the items were sent Proof of Posting as the customers did not want to have sent insured as they felt it too much, proof of posting has some insurance cover but you do not get a tracking number, as explained to customers, low and behold as it takes upto 10/14 working days (as recommended by Royal Mail as a guide) they put in a direct claim to paypal for a dispute within 7 days saying I would not give them a tracking number. I have to wait and see now through Royal Mail to check it out if they did get the goods, however if a failed delivery I have "Return to Sender" stickers on the parcels, but it is far too soon for the goods to get back to me yet. What I want to know is how come they did not go through ebay first and not just direct to Paypal for a refund, in all the thousands of goods I have sent I have never had this happen before, but two in two days is just weird, I checked both of their feedbacks and found they leave regular negatives for sellers.......looks like a can of worms has been opened here and we are very vunerable to be left negative feedback to easily and refunds claimed to quickly. I am seriously considering either not selling mohair overseas or I will insist on the insurance so I can track and trace. Basically if we cannot defend ourselves and is all in favour of the buyer, what is the point in using eBay as things are only going to get worse and the unscruplious members on ebay will get away with murder. Before Christmas I put a 10% discount offer on mohair onto my website to encourage people not to use ebay, I give the same service and same protection on purchases as eBay does, but I am passing my saving of charges on to the customer as an incentative.
I really feel sorry for your Mom, as she is new to this, I recommend to everyone these days if you have not got a website get one there are loads of free ones around too, and splash your name around the internet as much as you can to draw people to your site, and only use eBay as and advert if you can.
Good Luck to your Mom.

Hi Chloe
A naked Mold Rat! would like to see pictures of thatLOL
What a brilliant picture and lilink, where on earth did you find that, you are talking serious Tunnocks nowLOL Think I fancy a go at pimping a snack, I liked the Cadbury's Snap! This could be a new challenge for TTers.
Off to look at more pimped snacks.

Hi Shelly
I have to press the opt out button everytime I log out of ebay, it is so hard to find, I have a large screen and it still does not fill it properly, just a mess.
You do have to refine your search for artist, one of a kind, even for bear making supplies that has disappeared off the main search catagories, you have to look under bears, and other to find bear making supplies.
After my long chat with ebay, it seems as if we will have to wait and see what the outcome of their test brings to see if they put it back to how it was.....all I can say again is to all UK TTers who use ebay is to email a complaint, as I was advised to do.
Fingers crossed it goes back to the way it was.
With regard to listing on ebay, just make sure you put the relevant search words in your title, be more specific, that is what they want us to do.
Good Luck
Jacqui
