I have been a miniature artist for about 4 years and am taking the plunge!!! I am working on a bear about 11-12". I made the leg last night and my whole family couldn't believe how big it was!!! It is STRANGELY large! I am hand sewing as I am not too good with the sewing machine! Can my stitches be larger? I am making tiny stitches..not too sure how big to make them... Any words of wisdom would be appreciated..Has anyone started tiny and gone big? Little nervous about jointing and his nose to come
thanks

to sew on footpads..I fold the footpad in half...(toes up ..heel down ) I then make a tiny mark on the center of the top of the footpad and one on the bottom. Then using ONE stitch I sew the top mark into place ..knot off. . then I line up the bottom of the footpad and stitch into place..I then begin sewing in the footpad. Hope that helps
WOW You look amazing. And how beautiful your eyes look.. green as the veggies you are eating
Congratulations!

he's so cute I think he is just the sweetest little bear...If your buyer doesn't approve I don't think he will have trouble finding a home...perhaps mine
Hi Andrea
Ebay can be tough sometimes. I get disappointed too. I remember when I started that things were a little easier to sell once I started getting feedback for my bears. Your needle felted creations are beautiful.

When I first started making bears I would go through many heads..We actually used them for cat toys for our siamese. He loves them. Now I usually stick with the first one I make. . I too have made bears that are not my 'favorite'.... for some reason they usually sell better. The ones that I think are cute..don't do well...I have yet to figure this out!!
Sophie is my english bulldog..I just found out today that we are expecting bulldog babies the beginning of June.
Rocky is my german shephard/boxer mix. He is 11
Bogey is my crazy siamese. He steals my bear parts..always digging his head in my bear supplies. I have had to go hunting for bear arms, legs etc many times because of him!!
I also have two rescue kitties..Can't seem to find photos of them on this computer :O( But they are very appreciative & sweet.

I have found that the punch and white ultrasuede a little difficult on such small bears..difficult to cut a perfect circle for such a small eye. Therefore, my trick is oral B ultra floss (dental floss) Works GREAT. you can widen the floss for a tear drop look too. I add my floss after the bear is completed . you can add a little white glue with a toothpick. I add the floss after shading. The floss has blue dividing areas that thread onto the needle easily. The whites can add a lot of personality..to keep the bear from looking up ..I found that putting the white more to the outer edge of the eye can keep the eyes focused.

My tip may be a little strange...but it works for me and may for someone else..I like to make my nose and attach my eyes BEFORE closing my head..Then I don't have to deal with dimples. I sometimes close the head and leave the eye strings out by the cotter pin so I can pull tight and knot close to the bottom. One last good eye sinking...
Love all the tips from Jodi..especially about doing well and then not so well on auction sites...I find the roller coaster ride hard sometimes..and tend to take it personally. Thankfully I have a husband that never lets me give up..
Happy bear making
