I restarted ebay after a summer away and I had to start all over again. No one was bidding but one particular bear had lots of watchers. I then had two emails asking to buy it. One was can you do it for quite a bit less than my starting price and the other was a nice request just to tell them if I relist it. People were just testing the water and seeing what happened. I did realist it and it went to a good home. I was lucky to have a couple of lovely collectors take an interest and help me out to boost my confidence back up, and get my sales back on track. They have started to go so its a case of getting the ball rolling and cross fingers. Hang in there.
You can't go wrong with needlefelting!
I needlefelt mine in, dead easy too!
I do my pig tails by trimming my chenille pipe cleaners and ladder stitching the fabric closed around it, then twist. It would never turn as the width is so narrow. Does that make sense?
Stay strong Marie. What a wonderful woman your mum was to fight it for all those years. Bless you all.
This is interesting but confusing . I used dollars before and when it went into my account (paypal) I accepted it in Sterling. You can say which currency you want to accept it in. Do they charge for this? I always thought it just went in at the amount stated at the time of winning ie the dollars price but converted to sterling.
Its not too bad as I've started to use the new UK artist OOAK category, but this has been a thought provocing thread.
Great suggestions. I would say try make time for you, I know thats hard but half hour in a bubble bath or a time for a coffee and perhaps read a book. Me time even though things are hard. I look forward to my baths. At the moment I'm planning on decorating the back room and that keeps me interested, even if I get Mark to do half the work. Look after yourself.
Brill! Its so nice to see a fellow TTer do well. All the best for the finals, but a winner in my eyes.
I know, Anime was ages ago, but finally
I've finished Silly Lily. She is just under 3" tall and made from frosted lilac Sassy fabric.
I'm back from my hols so weight to lose and fed up of food! So I had a Quorn fillet (vegetarian) with a large salad. Then for later a bag of mini ryvitas and a skinny cow ice cream lolly! All low fat of course.
I would say its essential and with white balance and macro (on camera) makes life loads easier. My photos are OK but would be rubbish without one. I made one from a cheap wire laundry basket/hamper thing. I cut the mesh out and used opaque white fabric and sewed it in. If I did it again I think I'd pay for a proper one as it was a pain to do. If finances are tight though it only costs a couple of dollars and you can see how it goes.
Then you need the lights too, that will be another whole topic as thats another biggy!
Thanks Catherine if this is so it could save me having to list in twice and pay double fees. Hope its right. Cheers.
I'm so sorry for your little doggy. The driver was awful in not stopping. I once had a cat run in front of my car. As cats are it was far to quick for me to stop, it was being chased by another cat. It was horrid but I managed to trace the owner and at least was able to say sorry even though it was nobodys fault. I hope a big hug and sorry from all of us helps a little.
You so deserve this award. When I saw this wonder it stood out as something special. Now everyone agrees with us! Even better as the collectors and artists voted.
Thanks Judi, this happened to Chloe too. I'm off to change my password as I answered one from email, I could'nt remember which way to do it.
Very nice Lynette. It was easy to use and I liked the fact it was set out like a catalouge, keeps it simple. Well done!
I like sort of the end of October onwards, dark nights and the run up to Christmas. In fact I hate to say this but I think I enjoy the run up to Christmas more than Christmas itself. I don't like new year, I find it depressing somehow, I have'nt a clue why. I enjoy decorating the house and cutting holly, last year it was in the snow so it was very special. Saying all this I'm off to Turkey next week so am having a little bit of extra sun!
Clare this looks brilliant. You have done so well. I don't get the mags but I'll look out for it. Good on you.
Have a groovy time! We got married at The Monte Carlo and stayed at the MGM, we were there for two weeks and it was the best time ever. I always remember looking down the strip, all lit up at night, and feeling a real buzz. I love the place, warts and all! Its so alive and the people were really friendly.
We went the Dom Rep as well, a couple of years ago. We stayed at the RIU Mambo, it was lovely. We go to Turkey now on similar type holidays and really enjoy them. You can chill or get involved in all sorts of things. My husmand is brilliant at archery now as he has been taught and plays on each holiday we go on. So enjoy and plenty of pictures although I'm in Turkey when you get back so will catch you later.
Best of British and good luck! I would call him Merlot but then I'm counting down the hours til Friday night wine and curry! Lovely colours.
This bear looks like a proper teddy bear, you've captured the true meaning. Brill!
I've used wired eyes but tend to use onyx beads now. Good advice about the crimping of the wire, do be careful. I use strong thread doubled up, thread bothends through the loop then both ends through the loop of thread if that makes sense.
I then go through the needlesculpted eye socket area and come out near the joint and pull to get the right deap set look. I sew/tie off under the cotterpin area.
I used hand painted fairy eyes for the koala and needlefelted cheeks and lids. Off the top of my head it was about 4 1/2'' or something not much bigger.
You poor thing, probably everything catching up with you so to speak. Heres a joke for you.
A CURE FOR THE COMMON COLD
A man went to see his doctor because he was suffering from a miserable cold. His doctor prescribed some pills, but they didn't help.
On his next visit the doctor gave him a shot, but that didn't do any good.
On his third visit the doctor told the man to go home and take a hot bath. As soon as he was finished bathing he was to throw open all the windows and stands in the draft.
"But doc," protested the patient, "if I do that, I'll get pneumonia."
"I know," said his physician. "I can cure pneumonia."
I love your felties. They really capture something.
Am I being dim or could you tell me how to sign your book, it comes up guest book but I can't work out how to sign.
