Thanks Tammy and Monica. I've bookmarked the site for future reference too. I agree with Lisa on the open mouth tutorial. I'll try again. My first wasn't too successful.
Jane, I had to laugh when I read the title of your thread because in our neck of the woods a "poot" is a gastric disturbance, if you know what I mean. I was thinking, "Eww too much information", then I realized you were talking about your computer.
Brenda, I burn all my pictures to CD's s then print out thumbnail pages and put them in a binder with page dividers that hold the CD. I have about 5 CDs of pictures now so they are labeled "A", "B" etc. That way, when I want to find a photo, I just look through the binder for it and pop in the CD. Also, the photos aren't taking up space on your hard drive.
I also subscribe to Mozy computer back-up service. It automatically backs up all the data on your computer periodically and is saved on a remote server. If your computer crashes you can log on and restore. It's really inexpensive.
I also have an external hard drive that holds 160 GB.
I guess I'm a little paranoid about losing all my stuff too.
Bees sting once and lose their stinger. Wasps and yellow jackets can sting repeatedly.
When I was four, a neighborhood kid hammered a stick into a yellow jackets nets underground. The yellow jackets swarmed and we were all stung many times. They were flying in my Shirley Temple-type curls and in my starched petticoats (I know, dating myself here). I remember laying on the sofa later with piles of baking soda paste all over my body.
Excellent ! ! !
I'm getting how you feel Aleta.
I've been away from home since July 9th and won't be home until the 30th. I find myself, not only missing making bears, but I even miss my bears. How silly is that ! ! ! I do miss my doggies too and my husband.
I committed by email to edit some TV shows when I get home and serve as membership chair on our TV station group. That's going to take time away from bears. What was I thinking ! ? ! ?
Did you see Hairspray? We loved it ! ! !
Oh yes, sunglasses on the head. I've done that so many times. Looking for my car keys when they are in my hand, that's another one. And . . . I've gotten into the shower with my glasses on too. At least I could tell which bottle was shampoo and which was conditioner. I've conditioned my hair before shampooing a couple times.
Your daughter was a lucky duck not to be stung. Your back yard looks lovely, by the way. I would love to lounge around there on a summer afternoon too.
One time, when I was driving, a bee flew in the car window, down the back of my shirt and stung my back. I quickly pulled over and pulled my shirt off. Luckily no one was around to see. I was also stung by a bumble bee once. It's no different than being stung by a regular bee.
Hi there . . . can't wait to see the results of this new mohair. I use Dritz Fray Check (it's only $1.64 at Walmart, $3 something elsewhere). I fray check just inside the lines after I draw the pattern on the mohair, before I cut it out.
I make my bears' clothes like Jenny and Jared, with a second bodice piece for the lining. It is a lot easier than bias binding or facings.
Congratulations Gail ! ! ! Hanna Grace is absolutely prescious and I love her name.
Congratulations Eileen ! ! ! It's so exciting.
I too am awaiting my first grandchild. My Tracy is due on Christmas day. I'm right there with ya'. When is your Caroline due?
Lisa, happy happy 40th birthday ! ! ! The card your sister sent is hilarious.
My Paigie gave me one for my bday last year with a pic of a chimpanzee sitting on the photocopy machine photocopying his butt . . . and she said it somehow reminded her of me. Hmmmmmm . . . not sure what that was all about.
Anyhow . . .
Excellent pic. Mice are adorable too ! ! !
Excellent ! ! !
I'd love to have a mac but my son-in-law, the IT guy says if I buy one, I'm on my own because he only does pc's. I do depend on him a bit to help me out with problems now and then. But I'm thinking that maybe I wouldn't have the problems with a mac, huh?
Congratulations Sarah ! ! ! I want to see the cover too.
WOWIE . . . Huge congratulations to you Wanda ! ! ! !
How cool ! ! ! So much history. I think we're going to New England in the fall. We'll make a stop there for sure.
Charlotte, I love it. I know, it's hard to quit once you make that first cut. I often cut my own hair too, but I have my Paigie trim it up for me when she comes over. I always seem to leave a few long stragglers.
Anyway, it must feel very "lightening" and freeing for you. A lot cooler in the hot weather too.
CONGRATULATIONS Kim. Not to undermine your bears, but . . . . he's your best work yet. How prescious ! ! !
Krista, you have mastered the kitties. This pair is fantastic, so much personality. Take pics at the show if you can, that would be great.
Awwwwwwwwwww . . . toooooo cute ! ! !
What could be cuter than that ! ! !
