Soo funny, I sent this to my husband, I'm sure that's how he feels

psichick78

Hey thanks for taking a look guys.

Having it in Sept, or Oct would GREATLY inflate the costs of the tables, and I really wanted to keep the costs down as much as possible.

Thanks for the support! I just know this is going to be fabulous.

Nancy, next year you'll have LOTS of notice!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you can forgive me for posting this here, I am just so excited.

I have also posted this in the show and travel section but I know not everyone checks there.

Hello Everyone

I'm VERY excited to announce that I am ready to start accepting applications to exhibit at the Calgary Artist Bear Show August 4th 2007. The show will run from 9:30am - 3:00pm and promises to be a great show with some fantastic artists already signed up, a table selling artist bear greeting cards and supplies.

If you are interested in a table, or just coming by to look you can go here for more information and the application packet.

wow, that's awful. People are selling all kinds of patterns that they shouldn't on ebay. Its' just not fair.

psichick78

Ok, so I'm not the only one who re-uses boxes. PHEW

although Bobbie, you're right, if they pay alot for a bear, it's nice to get a 'new' package. I can appreciate that.

Krista, copying sucks. Plain and simple. I agree even I have 'copied' someone. I have used another person's pattern and tried to make mine look like theirs. That's fine. It's also find like Jodi says to credit the artist if you are selling.

But blaintant copying is just crazy, and the nerve some people have is amazing. I would never have the guts to copy someone so obviously and then put it on ebay for all to see.

The never ending love/hate with ebay.

psichick78

Nice trade! Both you ladies did really well as you're both great artists.

psichick78

You are amazing Sue Ann! How cool is that? wow

psichick78

Yes, Calgary is a great place. LOL

psichick78

yes, I understand. It's the same here, although now we are having a chinook so it's all melting and wet. But it IS +10 out, so I shouldn't complain.

It's the change of seasons that really make us appreciate the sun and warm weather. When it's warm all the time, you never get the 'alive with spring' feeling.

psichick78

YUCK! just can't trust anything anymore........

You guys don't re-use boxes? Oh boy. I even re-use bubble mailers. Not because I'm cheap, but it's just better for the environment.
Maybe I'll do what Krista does, inside my re-used box, I'll put a nicer gift box inside.

psichick78

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
funny, years ago my husband and I were taking care of my 5 yr old neice for the day. He was playing with her and all got quiet. After a few mins he comes in the room. I ask him where Meesha is and he says
" oh, she's in the closet"
"what?" I say
"yeah, she's crying or something so I just shut the closet door"

Poor girl was crying 'cause she missed mom. MEN! Good thing I didn't leave him alone with her!

psichick78

HA!
thanks guys, never thought I had to update my link when I changed my user name.
You guys are cool!

psichick78

I know Shane has a post about feather wings and I don't want to sound like I'm advertising but I'm selling a cool booklet on ebay right now about making wings. It was meant for fairies, but it's a great technique that uses fabric, so it's quite appropriate for bears.

Anyway, sorry if this is taken the wrong way, but if anything else, I've taken lots of pictures and I find the wings great inspiration, even though I make mine totally different.

Thanks,

psichick78

Our own Bobbie would have the best kit for beginners. She's great at explaining what you need to do.

As for felting, you could just make flat sheets of felt and sew them together, or felt them together.

psichick78

Sorry, can't be any help. I always just use pliers to turn my cotter pins.

psichick78

Not a chance. I'm lucky to make 10 bears a year.

I dunno, I'd love to make a living from it, but I'm hooked on the money I make from my 'real' job. It would take a whole lot of well priced teddies to make up for what my paycheques are now. Plus, I just can't beat 3 weeks paid vacation, paid sick days, benifits etc. yeah, I hate my job, but just can't justify leaving the money behind. .

Jenny, I like what you do, and when I have a kid that's what i'm gonna do. Work part-time and make bears the other time. I think that is more realistic, but maybe I'm just a pesimist today.

psichick78

Well, it USED to be mohair, but I've just finished an alpaca bear and I'm hooked. Now alot of my mohair just seems scatchy.

psichick78

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer
when we complained about the heat?

I was just wondering this today!
Thanks for the chuckle.

psichick78

Looks the same here......urgh!

psichick78

YAY! I'm soo proud!

psichick78

Just email me Marion if you need help......
